Lidoderm muscle pain

Common Questions and Answers about Lidoderm muscle pain

lidoderm

Avatar f tn They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.00 w/ no Ins-I do what I can to make them last because even w/ ins it is still $60.00 for 30 patches, I don't waste them. So, has anyone tried these?, what did you think about them?
Avatar n tn 3) Lidoderm patches are patches with topical lidocaine, which works as a pain reliever. Lidoderm can work for low back pain among other things. Lidoderm, unlike Flector patches and Voltaren gel, is not a topical anti-inflammatory but rather a numbing medicine applied to the skin. 4) An over the counter option, though not as well studied, is Aspercreme cream, which is a topical salicylate (aspirin) pain reliever. It works by reducing swelling and inflammation in the muscle and joints.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
728965 tn?1266373645 Have you tried to rub some muscle creme on it? You could also ask the doc. for Lidoderm patches and see if they help alleviate the pain. I hope you can get relief soon. Please be safe and take care.
Avatar n tn Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
Avatar f tn s basically the same medicine as the lidoderm patch, but in gel form. I used it for my muscle spasms on my shoulders. Muscle relaxers work best for my shoulders, but I'm so sensitive to them and we are trying to find one that I can tolerate. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I've been looking for alternatives to narcotics for pain - specifically in one localized area the dr. has called a "trigger spot" in my shoulder. It becomes a big knotted up muscle under my shoulder blade and gets worse when I'm stressed. I've also been told I have tinitus in that shoulder. ANYWAY, I'm currently tapering on suboxone and really need to find alternatives for this pain.
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
563571 tn?1232491190 Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
1232362 tn?1333135406 muscle relaxants, pain pills and patches and she gave me a referral to a pain mgmt for in the future. Fingers crossed! Hope you feel better too, the pain can really impact your life!
Avatar f tn Sometimes I think it may be radiating from the almost constant pain I have in my hips. I tried Lidoderm patches, but without success. I now have Duragesic patches for pain, and that helps with most all the pain I have. Motrin 800mg gives it a boost when the pain breaks through. I hope you can get relief soon. It kind of wears on you after a while, right?
934553 tn?1275274379 I recently received a phonecall from my neorologist and although I still do not have my dx she wanted to help me with some pain issues. I take Cymbalta at present and I do not like narcotics. We decided to try lideoderm patches. I have tried them 2 times and am not sure if I can tell a difference. Have any of you tried them? I am having neuropathic pain in my back and can not even stand my clothes to touch. She thinks I am in a flair. All I know is when I am no working I am sleeping.
Avatar f tn So I went in for my appointment today and it felt really good to have all my questions and concerns written down so I didn't forget any of my questions. He ended up prescribing me zanaflex for my muscle pain (was on robaxin, but it didn't work well) and Ultram ER for daily pain. I know a lot of other people on here take Ultram, but I have never taken it, so it should be interesting to see if it helps me.
Avatar f tn I am on tramadol and flexoril for the pain. The more I do the more pain I have. Oh geesh. Is there ever an end to the pain? I am hoping to be on some sort of DMD Monday with a firm diagnosis. Something is definitely wrong, just hope for an answer. Here's hoping I do not have to bear this for the rest of my life.
Avatar f tn Hi LainieC, First I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. I want to let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum only CP - Chronic Pain - Patients that help each other with our OWN expertise and experiences that we have developed through our OWN CP Issues. I'm sorry that I don't know if they make a Generic 5% Lidoderm Patch BUT I would suggest that you call your Pharmacist and ask them.
Avatar n tn Hi, I fell last year and broke my coxis. Eventually it fixed itself. Now it has moved and I am in a lot of pain. My doctor gave me Fentanyl patches and they are not doing much. I use Lidoderm patches for arhtitis pain. I don't know whether I can use both together and weather I can take some pain meds at the same time? I am going abroad in 10 days and there is no way I can cancel this trp... Please, help! Thanks.
442114 tn?1205348989 Im only 20 years old and I experience severe lower back pain and pain down both of my legs on a daily basis. I have had x-rays on my lower back and legs, nothing showed up. An Mri indicated that I have anterior extradural defect in the sagittal projection at L4-L5 and minimal spondylosis L3-L4. My family doctor says this is not causing my pain, and that the pain is from my muscles but I usually only feel pain in my joints and bones.
Avatar f tn Dr Mathur, I have tried Ice, heat so much I've burned my skin, massage, acupuncture. Nothing really helps massage/ acupuncture sessions which only last for a few days. It's pretty expensive to have to go a couple times a week. Heat helps but both legs (the entire length) hurt along with my back. I haven't been able to take Lyrica which was really the only thing that adequately controlled the pain for quite some time now. Pain meds do not help my nerve pain, never have.
19965699 tn?1487511518 I ONLY take Ocycontin 20mg x3 a day, 4mg Tizanidine (muscle relaxer) 1xdaily as needed, and Lidoderm patches. I also use a TENS unit, sometimes for hours! Am I still in pain? YES!! But it is livable!! I have my mind, can think and do for myself.. things I could not do while on all those meds..
Avatar f tn itching below my left shoulder blade and often times I get burning stinging pain under my left breast along with pain in my left breast/nipple area. I have tried lidoderm patches, neurontin and more recently radio frequency ablation the latter of which can sometimes keep the pain part at bay for almost a year but absolutely nothing helps this itching. I also have numbness and tingling in my upper left back.
Avatar m tn Also if it is in a small area or two, Lidoderm patch was made to help with shingles pain.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm withdrawing from Xanax, weaning off 0.25 every 3 weeks or 4 weeks, but what I find most disconforting is the muscle aches and " like knots " that form in my sholulder blades and neck. I s methocarmabol effective against this symptom? Please let me know.
Avatar f tn The Neurologist tried Baclofen for muscle spasms and a bunch of medications for nerve pain such as Neurotin. I ended up drugged out of my gourd and still having spasms. The pain clinic over a year cut me back to a few medications. There are many medications which help but everyone responds differently to them. We had to try many different combinations until we got one to work. I take Zanaflex for muscle spasms for MS, Baclofen just did not work for me at all.
Avatar n tn I also use pain medication, both narcotic and NSAID, muscle relaxants sometimes, sleep medication and patches (Lidoderm and Flector), plus many other treatments such as frequent stretching, heat packs or hot baths, massage when I can afford it, walking and exercise when I feel up to it, I've tried acupuncture but didn't feel it helped much, etc.
Avatar f tn Hi. Have you asked your doctor about if Lidoderm patches can be prescribed? They're category B so no harm to baby in studies. Those worked wonders for me when I had a sprained coccyx. Worth a try!!
Avatar n tn When in doubt, ask your doctor!
