Avatar n tn Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
1415174 tn?1453243103 Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
Avatar n tn Today is 11/28/2012. Newspaper articles stated that generic Lidocaine patches would be available this date. Who is manufacturing these and where can I buy them?
Avatar f tn so still seeking alternatives. Someone mentioned lidocaine/lidoderm patches. Any experience/ advice or other suggestions for these or other alternatives???? Other info: The muscle relaxers probably help, but I don't like to take them. They make me too sleepy and I know they can be addictive (though I seriously don't like them). I've been using a heating pad every night for a week and it hasn't helped. Salon-Pas patches help....some. The anti-inflamatory pill helps...some....
1571533 tn?1322943509 Hey. I went to my PCP yesterday and he gave me a LIDODERM, a lidocaine patch, to try and help with the pain in my neck -he thinks if that calms down so will the migraines.. theyve been everyday constantly for well over a month and a half, and no meds help.. nor do therapeutic methods i have here at home.. Has anyone here used it before? And did it help? I tried to use it last night but it wouldnt stick to my neck.
Avatar f tn I wouldn't touch Fentanyl again with a ten-foot pole. It's not easy to come off. I've often used lidoderm patches and it takes the edge off but that alone doesn't help much. I was surprised to read that it has problems of its own. I always thought it was a pretty benign med.
Avatar m tn s ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone. The sad part is these lidocaine patches are costly; I'm not sure of the cost without my insurance copay, but a box of 30 cost me exactly 30.00, or a dollar each.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever used a pain patch for their TMJ pain? have some Lidoderm patches, which contain 5% Lidocaine, which I have for my fibaro and spine problems. I just got back from Reno, Nv, which was an 1143 mile round trip. The trip down was fine, but the trip back today was in rain, hail, wind and snow. Needless to say now in more pain than ever. I had a massage while there, concentrated on the head, neck and shoulders. Masseuse commented I had a major major amt of tight muscles and knots.
9668401 tn?1405176684 What kind of patches? I've used Lidoderm patches and it.definitely helps take the edge off. I also use.Voltaren gel as well.
Avatar m tn What could you recommend to use for nerve pain other than Lidocaine patches. I have been using the patches with wonderful relief for 2 years and now Aetna says they will only cover them for post hepatice neuralgia. They even denied my doctor's appeal. Two years ago I had laminectomies of L2,L3,L4,L5,S1 after many ESIs and SJIs. I also have my sciatic nerve running through my piraformis muscle. The surgery got rid of most of my back and sciatic pain and I no longer use a walker or wheelchair.
Avatar f tn It helps a whole lot, although nothing ever takes the pain completely away. I also use Lidoderm Patches. I use 3 a night one on my lower back and one behind both knees. I hope the Ultram ER works for you. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
563571 tn?1232491190 Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.
Avatar f tn Off vicodin for 16 days....I want no more of that! However, I am still in alot of back pain, and now stomach burning like crazy that just started a week ago...may not be related at all. So....I am going to ask for more lidocaine patches (better than nothing!), and what else???? Can't take advil because of these stomach problems, and I already know the perils of tramadol, so I don't want that either. Thoughts???? thanks.
934553 tn?1275274379 Hi, a lot of people benefit from the Lidoderm patches. I hope it helps. I completely understand about life consisting only of work and sleep. That doesn't make much of a life. That exquisite sensitivity to light touch is called allodynia. Often a firm touch is tolerable, but the light brushing of clothes or a light touch from another person is unbearable. Seems backward, but it is common. Another addition that can help the Cymbalta is a low-dose of amiltrityline at night.
Avatar m tn i have used Lidoderm patches - lidocaine in an adhesive patch - it numbs the area somewhat. ask your doc about them.
Avatar f tn Along with marycarmel suggestions, you may want to try Voltaren gel which is an anti-inflammatory gel that you rub right where it hurts and it reduces inflammation and thus reduces pain and it may relieve some of the stiffness you are experiencing as well. Also, you could try lidoderm patches - they are non narcotic patches that contain lidocaine (a local anesthetic) which will numb the affected area.
Avatar n tn Hi, I fell last year and broke my coxis. Eventually it fixed itself. Now it has moved and I am in a lot of pain. My doctor gave me Fentanyl patches and they are not doing much. I use Lidoderm patches for arhtitis pain. I don't know whether I can use both together and weather I can take some pain meds at the same time? I am going abroad in 10 days and there is no way I can cancel this trp... Please, help! Thanks.
486507 tn?1237242081 they both affect opiate receptors in the brain and methadone sticks around so long that you arent even totally clean yet - the PAWS from methadone can be present for a long ttime.....I had good luck with back pain using lidoderm transdermal patches - they release a small amount of lidocaine (stuff dentist numbs you with) and have worked well for me...and not narcotic....
Avatar f tn I tried Lidoderm patches. They didn't help for my pain. The nice thing about these patches is that you can cut them to any size. I was also give voltaren gel that worked a lot better. It's basically the same medicine as the lidoderm patch, but in gel form. I used it for my muscle spasms on my shoulders. Muscle relaxers work best for my shoulders, but I'm so sensitive to them and we are trying to find one that I can tolerate. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I forgot to mention that the patches are good for 12 hours using Lidocaine as the main pain ingredient. They were first made for people suffering from shingles but my doctor and I figured out several years ago that they work for a lot of pain issues. I love the gel...
1182304 tn?1349305951 I do use the lidoderm patches and they help me. I do not use them all the time but I do when I have a bad pain day.
Avatar n tn When in doubt, ask your doctor!
