Avatar n tn Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
Avatar f tn I found out in my appointment that they do not prescribe narcotic pain medication but will prescribe muscle relaxers. The practice focuses on injections, physical therapies, massage, electrode therapy, etc. I was able to get a couple pressure point injections on the left side of my upper back and it felt much better than my right side throughout the day. As a result, the doctor suggested botox injections for my pressure points because the other injection worked well.
Avatar f tn I know a lot of other people on here take Ultram, but I have never taken it, so it should be interesting to see if it helps me. He also told me that he is fine with giving me lidocaine injections if I choose, or he can call in a script for lidoderm patches that I can put anywhere on my body that hurts. I may also give Lyrica a second chance. It didn't work well for me before but I'm thinking about trying it again and taking it very slow when upping my dosage. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
Avatar f tn t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.
563571 tn?1232491190 Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.
934553 tn?1275274379 Hi, a lot of people benefit from the Lidoderm patches. I hope it helps. I completely understand about life consisting only of work and sleep. That doesn't make much of a life. That exquisite sensitivity to light touch is called allodynia. Often a firm touch is tolerable, but the light brushing of clothes or a light touch from another person is unbearable. Seems backward, but it is common. Another addition that can help the Cymbalta is a low-dose of amiltrityline at night.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
1182304 tn?1349305951 Just wondering if many on here have tried the Lidoderm patch? I have actually found it to help take off the sharp edges of pain in my back. I guess some insurances per my doc are kinda against it for anything other then for shingle pain, but my insurance did approve it for my chronic back pain.
Avatar n tn You sound really great! Don't worry about the Xanax; just make sure you take it as prescribed. I feel for you with the cold and arthritis. I have it very bad in most of my joints. I had an implant put in my left thumb because the whole joint was shattered from the arthritis. It's hereditary on both sides of my family. And it seems to hit the women worse and at a younger age.
Avatar n tn Noven Pharmaceuticals wants to come out with one as well, but their being tied up by Endo and a bunch of FDA nonsense. This is a more recent article about Watson: http://www.empr.
442114 tn?1205348989 I currently take up to 30mg of hydrocodone a day in the form of Lorcet 10-650. This has went on for 9 months now and phyical thearpy, pain patches(lidoderm), steriod shots, cortisone shot injections by an orthorpedist, depo-medrol injection in my hips, anti-infamatories, tens units, heat and cold pacs, and other meds just have not helped. I have had 3 car accidents in the last three years also.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
9668401 tn?1405176684 What kind of patches? I've used Lidoderm patches and it.definitely helps take the edge off. I also use.Voltaren gel as well.
Avatar n tn I have NF1 with several fibromas under my ribs which have become more painful over the last few years some days a 9-10 on the pain scale. I had a neurologist that prescribed Lidoderm patches topical 12 hours on 12 off that were effective. I have new health insurance that won't cover the patches. I went to a new pain management doc that prescribed a cream that works quite well.
Avatar f tn Hi all; me again...now it's been more than a month since intercostal nerve injections--no relief whatsoever. I was initially told that in 2 1/2 weeks I should feel a difference. I AM STILL AS MISERABLE AS I WAS BEFORE I SAW THE DR.! So, I called the Dr and asked (basically,'what's up') and I was told they could see me in two weeks; to keep taking Diclofenac and keep using the Lidoderm patches, and hang in there until the app't.
Avatar n tn s at the office after the surgery. My plan is to move to Lidoderm patches tomorrow for the local pain, but will these few pills throw me back into withdrawls? 2) Any non-addictive pain mgmt drugs out there, would like to know so I talk to my doctor about it. 3) Sorry if I am pissing anyone off, but these are legit questions I was hoping to get answered.
Avatar n tn 3) Lidoderm patches are patches with topical lidocaine, which works as a pain reliever. Lidoderm can work for low back pain among other things. Lidoderm, unlike Flector patches and Voltaren gel, is not a topical anti-inflammatory but rather a numbing medicine applied to the skin. 4) An over the counter option, though not as well studied, is Aspercreme cream, which is a topical salicylate (aspirin) pain reliever. It works by reducing swelling and inflammation in the muscle and joints.
Avatar f tn I was in the exact same boat many times. My pain mngmnt doc has seen me cry more than my own family I think because it is so frustrating when nothing helps! I too was supplementing with leftover percocets on the side and he said "You can't do that!" But you know what? It helped - until I ran out. Oxycontin didn't do jack. Now I'm on Fentanyl patches. I've had good days, but I still have bad days. It's too soon to tell if this is a fix or not.
Avatar m tn ve been suffering from chronic neck and back pain for the past 4 years and have had lots of nerve blocks, denervations and botox injections done - nothing has really helped. I've been given Tramadol ER 200mg x twice a day by my Dr and they seem to be working but are making me feel weird/really tired/tinnitus/tearful. Should I keep taking them And how long shall I give them before I know if they are really for me? Thank you all very much.
678874 tn?1226694602 It just dulls it to the point that it makes it bearable. Have they tried the Lidoderm patches with you? I found that they work very well with that deep, gnawing, achy type pain. If it continues, you might ask your doc. about cortisone injections. I know you are in pain and i'm sorry. Nana434 -you are so right when you say it has taken over and you just want your life back. I also was very active and now can hardly do much of anything. And the doc.
Avatar f tn Voltaren gel and/or lidoderm patcges may help take the edge off. They are prescriptions but are topical and not systemic. Nerve pain can be hard to manage and you sometimes need to piece a bunch ofvthings together to getvrelief. Pool therapy may alsonhelp.
Avatar m tn There's a lot you can do for arthritis in your knees. There's different injections you can get. If there's fluid on the knee, it can be drained. Ibuprofen will help some of the pain and will also help with inflammation. Voltaren gel is a prescription gel that is used on joints and will help take the edge off. Lidoderm patches, ice packs and heating packs may all help as well. Make an appointment with a rheumatologist to get started.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone else ever has lower back pain with their MS symptoms. Sometimes it is accompanied with a fogginess.......lidoderm patches help sometimes.
