Avatar m tn I have an erectile dysfunction since I have put xylocaine lidocaine 5% gel on my penis. The gel has expired since 2013 and I am feared also that I have put a lot. Three days after my erections are not so hard like before and they do not last long. I want to ask if it is permanent and what can I do.I am so anxious.Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn Lidocaine and Xylocaine are the same thing.
1571533 tn?1322943509 From what I read it stops the nerve from sending the signals of pain....Lidocaine (INN) ( /ˈlaɪdɵkeɪn/), Xylocaine, or lignocaine (former BAN) ( /ˈlɪɡnɵkeɪn/) is a common local anesthetic and antiarrhythmic drug. Lidocaine is used topically to relieve itching, burning and pain from skin inflammations, injected as a dental anesthetic or as a local anesthetic for minor surgery.
Avatar n tn I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage the day that I had a mole removed at my dermatologist. They used Epinephrine and Xylocaine and when we received the autopsy report it revealed that my baby was perfectly normal and healthy without chromosonal issues prior to him dieing in my womb that day. Has anyone experienced this or known anyone who has? I researched on the web and found many warnings about pregnant women receiving Lidocaine from the dentist but not what they gave me.
Avatar f tn like a true allergy but a CNS reaction. Lidocaine/ Xylocaine/ Benzocaine (that whole family) is the worst. It took a while to figure that one out. After myelograms, I reacted and was hospitalized. I was unable to stand (I already had right leg weakness and a gait disturbance but WHOA was it worse now)! I was confined to bed with a portapotty and pressure cuffs initially. I had increased abnormal reflexes.
Avatar m tn I have seen a dentist to use same syringe for 2nd use xylocaine ijection (local anasthesia) from multi dose via for the same patient though new syringe is used for separate patient for the same vial. Can it make the rest of the vial nfected by HIV. 1986030 tn?1327535359 For me it would come and go. Like other sx - I would never know what other day brings.
Avatar f tn When I have needed any type of dental treatment that requires an anesthetic, my dentist uses an alternative to Novacaine...Lidocaine(Xylocaine) sometimes combined with Epinepherine. Make sure that your Dentist has a list of your current medications, so that he can be sure that there are no possible drug interactions. Novacaine has a very short half life, it is about 1.5-2 hours...So 4 days later, it is pretty unlikely that it was still in your system.
Avatar m tn Buy this medicine and keep for using during the headache and see if it aborts the same. Xylocaine 2% for Injection or 4% topical solution.(Known also Lidocaine). This is a local anaesthetic. You are going to use it as nasal drops to see if it aborts the headache. At the onset of headache, lie down and let the head hang over the edge of the cot, so that it is at an angle of about 30 degrees, and turn the head to the side of headache.
Avatar n tn go to a cardiologist who is willing to work with you and try alternative therapies. You MUST MUST MUST take a look into the following combo D-ribose (10 grams per day), L carnitine (1.5 grams twice daily), CoenzymeQ10 (300 to 400mg twice daily), Magnesium supplementation. And a high EPA/DHA fish oil supplement. The above are mentioned in this book called "Metabolic Cardiology" written by a Cardiologist/Cardiac Surgeon with over 30 years of experience.
1897244 tn?1322252681 Then I apply Prep. H hemorrhoid cream. And finally I apply some prescription 3% Xylocaine with 0.5% hydrocortisone. That latter cream was originally for the "shards of glass" I felt like I was passing but the suppossitories turned out to work better for the shards of glass. But I found a use for the Xylocaine cream. The Xylocaine cream numbs the reactal area and that means it also stops the itching and irritation.
Avatar m tn The only topical cream known, through clinical trial, to delay ejaculation is one called Promescent. It contains the anesthetic xylocaine. I am not at all sure if this would be your best option though. Do not challenge each other too much. Take it easy and good luck.

Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
383138 tn?1314167773 wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. My cardiologist says I can't have lidocaine at all, due to my past severe heart reaction to it, but my pain dr. thinks it will be OK and has scheduled me for infusion for pain relief for this Friday. I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar m tn In a simple dental procedure, I had what I can only describe as a seizure after getting what was supposed to be lidocaine and epinephrine injection. The area never got numb, and the pain from the point of the needle each time they attempted to inject me was painful. I was taken to the ER and released after 8 hours with no explanation. I read that lidocaine can cause a seizure. I have had injections many times with no problem. What could have gone wrong?
306455 tn?1288862071 lotsatrout...good idea...you ought to get a patent....lidocaine suit...i like that!!! ...My educated guess says it is not addictive!!!...and we know where my educated guesses have gotten me before!!!
Avatar f tn It probably isn't the lidocaine, it's the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.
Avatar m tn He put things like Vaseline, Desitin or lidocaine on the area to protect the skin and reduce the pain. He also took 1 Loperimide per day for awhile, which prevented diarrhea as that made the problem worse.
