I have an erectile dysfunction since I have put xylocaine lidocaine 5% gel on my penis. The gel has expired since 2013 and I am feared also that I have put a lot. Three days after my erections are not so hard like before and they do not last long. I want to ask if it is permanent and what can I do.I am so anxious.Thank you for your time.

I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage the day that I had a mole removed at my dermatologist. They used Epinephrine and Xylocaine and when we received the autopsy report it revealed that my baby was perfectly normal and healthy without chromosonal issues prior to him dieing in my womb that day. I have seen a dentist to use same syringe for 2nd use xylocaine ijection (local anasthesia) from multi dose via for the same patient though new syringe is used for separate patient for the same vial. Can it make the rest of the vial nfected by HIV. Though no trace of blood seen in the xylocaine solution . what is the posiblity of getting hiv infection solution. how long HIV survive in the xylocaine even if some infected blood is entered in it.

For me it would come and go. Like other sx - I would never know what other day brings.

When I have needed any type of dental treatment that requires an anesthetic, my dentist uses an alternative to Novacaine...Lidocaine(Xylocaine) sometimes combined with Epinepherine. Make sure that your Dentist has a list of your current medications, so that he can be sure that there are no possible drug interactions. Novacaine has a very short half life, it is about 1.5-2 hours...So 4 days later, it is pretty unlikely that it was still in your system.

Buy this medicine and keep for using during the headache and see if it aborts the same. Xylocaine 2% for Injection or 4% topical solution.(Known also Lidocaine). This is a local anaesthetic. You are going to use it as nasal drops to see if it aborts the headache. my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..

Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.

wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. My cardiologist says I can't have lidocaine at all, due to my past severe heart reaction to it, but my pain dr. thinks it will be OK and has scheduled me for infusion for pain relief for this Friday. There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.

In a simple dental procedure, I had what I can only describe as a seizure after getting what was supposed to be lidocaine and epinephrine injection. The area never got numb, and the pain from the point of the needle each time they attempted to inject me was painful. I was taken to the ER and released after 8 hours with no explanation. It probably isn't the lidocaine, it's the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.

He put things like Vaseline, Desitin or lidocaine on the area to protect the skin and reduce the pain. He also took 1 Loperimide per day for awhile, which prevented diarrhea as that made the problem worse.
