Avatar m tn Dear Auntiejessie, Thanks for your kind reply. I received 10-day intramuscular injection of Procaine Penicillin on my buttock. This is the recommended treatment for primary and secondary syphilis in Hong Kong. Do you think procaine penicillin is effective?? Right now I am so scared. I don't know what to do. As I read more info about syphilis in the internet, I become more scared. Normally, how long should it take for a secondary syphilis patient to be completely cured??
Avatar f tn t tolerate Lidocaine or epi., so I used Procaine or Marcaine for my procedures--at the dentist too. It was at the dentist that I discovered this problem. If you want an alternate drug, KEEP REMINDING THEM--they automatically use lidocaine it seems. Certainly they can numb you with something! I don't know about microcal. washing away--but I do know that 8mm of DCIS was indentified on my biopsy, and MANY scans and 2 surgeries later, no sign of cancer has been found.
Avatar f tn I find myself sleeping on my back again. My last set of lidocaine/procaine was a year and a half ago. What suggestions do you have for me? I suspect I have adhesions and really have no clue if I can even get another surgeon to look at me. I have since moved away from the surgeon who performed the surgery. What do you think I should do?
Avatar f tn The only other time I have experienced any redness is from giving myself contact dermatitis in my vagina from too much aspercream with lidocaine down there. Am now just using coconut oil with lidocaine for pain and started a ssri. Saw a pain doctor who believes my pain is viral in nature-maybe shingles recurrence (which I have had in the past but not in groin area). Have you ever heard of any cases of herpes like this??
Avatar n tn Aspirin, alcohol (in cough compounds and pediatric elixers), morphine, codeine, dextromethorphan (“DM” in cough compounds), nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents, procaine, opiates (codeine, Demerol, morphine), thiamine, high molecular weight polymers (dextran). Medicines, topical: Topical antibiotics containing polymyxin B. Medicines sometimes used with general anesthesia: D-tubocurarine, scopolamine, decamethonium, resperpine.
Avatar f tn My symptoms felt similar to an anaphylactic reaction I had while I was getting procaine penicillin for lyme disease. Then, I had a car alarm sound going off in my head, felt like I couldn’t breathe and kept loosing conciousness. The allergist gave me adrenalyn and benedryl. After a penicillin challenge test, we decided I was allergic to procaine. Both my psychiatrist and infectious disease doctor said I should stop all medications.
Avatar n tn The radiofrequency neurolysis is a good procedure for temporal tendonitis if that is what you have. Lidocaine/cortisone injections are equally effective. Both may need to be repeated. The big issue is why you may have temporal tendonitis---usually from clenching/bruxing associated with TMJ pain or sleep disordered breathing. Follow scottma's advice and find a qualified orofacial pain specialist and get a correct diagnosis.
2121656 tn?1395674749 s a simple procedure. Done with lidocaine in the office. In inserts pellets into the buttocks. Has anyone every heard of this procedure before? Also, if I could get some feedback on what my friends here think about such. Also, after reading the difference of being treated with pharmaceutial hormone replacement therapy vs. bio-idenitical hormone replacement therapy. I'm seriously thinking of going with the latter of the two. Is anyone receiving bio-idenitical hormone replacement?
Avatar m tn m now during my syphilis treatment, which is quite harsh, got nerve system taken, so 2 weeks of penicilin i.v. and now lots of procaine penicilin i.m. and I wonder how long am I contagious? I'm afraid of psychical contact with my partner (he finished treatment exactly week ago).
1378884 tn?1315505845 My Mom generally gets very little or very short term (a few days) of relief from an injection. They give her a mixture of Kenalog (liquid prednisone) and lidocaine, a numbing agent. It seems like as soon as the lidocaine wears off, the pain is back. Keep us posted as to how you're doing! Good luck!!

Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
383138 tn?1314167773 wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. My cardiologist says I can't have lidocaine at all, due to my past severe heart reaction to it, but my pain dr. thinks it will be OK and has scheduled me for infusion for pain relief for this Friday. I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar m tn In a simple dental procedure, I had what I can only describe as a seizure after getting what was supposed to be lidocaine and epinephrine injection. The area never got numb, and the pain from the point of the needle each time they attempted to inject me was painful. I was taken to the ER and released after 8 hours with no explanation. I read that lidocaine can cause a seizure. I have had injections many times with no problem. What could have gone wrong?
Avatar f tn I just wanted to say how pleased I am to see so many woman suggesting mother's to be patient and wait for the baby to be ready. Not to try to force it out through "natural induction". There is nothing natural about using Castro oil or such. I understand how uncomfortable it can be but waiting it out vs potentially harming your child. I'm just happy to see people suggest the waiting it out. Thanks moms!
Avatar n tn I have the same, but with fever. A friend talked me into doin this and I think the water he used was contaiminated. I've been giving myself 600,000 units of Penicillin G Procaine IM suspension for 2 days every 12 hrs.
Avatar f tn I read the entire thing the first time you suggested it. Thank you, but there were no real alternative treatments offered besides the band aids of corn starch and lidocaine spray. I'm looking for something a little more advanced. Maybe I am speaking to the wrong audience here.
306455 tn?1288862071 lotsatrout...good idea...you ought to get a patent....lidocaine suit...i like that!!! ...My educated guess says it is not addictive!!!...and we know where my educated guesses have gotten me before!!!
