i have just had iv lignocaine for chronic pain relief athritis i developed choking couldnt swallow or breath my throat closed thus i had anxious panic then shaking teeth chattering they stopped the iv no explanation was given as to why they just monitered my bp etc i was sent home but have felt ill dizzy since this drug is used for atrial fibrillation i have had lots of treatment for breast cancer chemo radiotherapy and tamoxifan ive recently had dental work several teeth removed as in patient g

The radiofrequency neurolysis is a good procedure for temporal tendonitis if that is what you have. Lidocaine/cortisone injections are equally effective. Both may need to be repeated. My Mom generally gets very little or very short term (a few days) of relief from an injection. They give her a mixture of Kenalog (liquid prednisone) and lidocaine, a numbing agent. Losing some weight or wearing loose clothes and belts often helps relieve the pain/numbness/tingling. Also injection of lignocaine (anesthetic agent) at the site helps. In your case you can apply a pain reliever at the site. Keep a hot water bottle/heating pad while sleeping and apply a local analgesic cream. Other possibilities are vascular pathologies such as deep vein thrombosis and clots and will need a dopplar study.

wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
