Avatar m tn I went to dentist , and he referred to to an oral surgeon right away. Oral surgeon said it was a pigment that had developed from tx. I would check it out so you can treat it asap.
673999 tn?1226935279 The new standard inoffice bladder instillation for IC is Lidocaine instillation with bicarbonate solution. The lidocaine is a local anesthetic and the bicarbonate allows the lidocaine to penetrate the bladder wall to get to the bladder nerves. Lidocaine without the bicarbonate solution has only minimal bladder wall penetration and very short duration of action (minutes to an hour).
1654058 tn?1407159066 is the term given to a solution prepared by pharmacists and used to treat mouth sores (oral mucositis). Oral mucositis can be extremely painful and can result in an inability to eat, speak or swallow. Magic mouthwash may be used to treat mouth sores that result from some forms of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. There are many versions of magic mouthwash. Your doctor will likely write a prescription listing the ingredients and the amount of each.
Avatar n tn I had the lidocaine block as a diagnostic test to indicate that I was a good candidate for sinus surgery, and would not recommend it as a long-term treatment or solution. The lidocaine made the pain in my nose, right eye, and upper teeth disappear almost instantly, but also made it hard for me to breathe or swallow for almost two hours afterwards. It made me nauseous as well, and the pain came back as soon as the lidocaine-saturated cotton was removed from my sinus cavity.
Avatar m tn Also, the lidocaine was with nystatin as a swish and swallow to treat oral thrush after several courses of antibiotics. Not sure if that matters or not.
Avatar f tn My doctor has also prescribed a 2% lidocaine viscous solution that I can use on my tongue or cheeks that enables me to eat comfortably when it is particularly painful. In my case, I was predisposed to this by hepatitis C for which I had been successfully treated for a year. It was shortly after I finished the treatment that I began having the symptoms of LP. It's not pleasant, but it is manageable and it can be kept under control.
Avatar f tn The itching by this point has subsided. So I started applying aloe gel with. 5% lidocaine. This is a miracle as it numbs very nicely. It is now day 7 and I have even more raw spots, and it now really hurts to pee. Like after giving birth. I am 36 yrs old 3 children 15-18 yrs old. I have experienced yeast infections previosly. Also by late in day 3 I had peeling of the exterior vulva skin. On day 2 the itchy was unbearable and I was dumb and tried a home remedy I read all over online.
Avatar f tn Ask them to prescribe a 5% transdermal lidocaine patch and a few days of oral prednisone. Oral prednisone has many contraindications but if used for a short period you will have no problems.
Avatar n tn Lidocaine used as an anesthetic often has a small amount of epinephrine in the solution. The amount is so small that I have never heard of it causing tachycardia, although this is theoretically possible. Lidocaine and epinephrine is used in the suturing of millions of wounds every year with no cardiac events. My guess is that that is a coincidence here. The temporary fast heart rate in the absence of chest pain, pressure or other symptoms should have no long-lasting effects whatsoever.
Avatar n tn There is absolutely, 100% NO WAY the Lidocaine effect lasted 3 weeks. Zero. Zilch. Nada, as they say. Lidocaine is very short acting...and would be completely out of your system within hours, not weeks. Whether or not it triggered the initial round of PVC's, I can't say, but it DEFINATELY did not make them last 3 weeks. I doubt you will believe me. PVC's are a very common and annoying problem...seems just about anything and everything can set them off, including anxiety.
Avatar f tn All it would take is shaving and having an open pore for the bacteria to get into. Draining it is definitely the best possible solution. It will give you so much relief. Ask for them to out a lidocaine patch or gel there before giving you the numbing shot. That should minimize any pain. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn Magic mouthwash relieves pain I swish it before eating and after eating. Kaiser prescribed it to me has lidocaine and statin antibiotic in Maalox solution.
Avatar n tn Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.
675417 tn?1226168592 Thank you Dr. Burks. I have been getting relief today from drinking baking soda and water but have ended up with a terrific headache. Dont know if its related or not, but at least I have some relief!
Avatar m tn Could it be an allergic reaction to lidocaine? Or possibly the solution (Cidex?) they use to clean the scope? Have you heard of this type of reactions to cystos. This is really bothing me and interrupts my sex life and makes working out painful too. One other issue: I get a lot of false-postive FISH tests, which lead to a biopsy, which eventualy leads to a "no cancer" report. I'm thinking of dropping the FISH test and just relying on cystos and NMP cytology tests.
Avatar f tn My orbital itself is what hurts and I do not have vision loss. We have tried injections of lidocaine, steroids, steroid drops, oral steriods, indocin, and gabapentin; none of which have helped. The pain is NOT a migraine. I am NOT having sinus issues or The doctor I am currently seeing is at Barnes Jewish Hospital's Center for Advanced Medicine. We are quickly running out of options and doctors in the St. Louis area and the doctors are at a loss.
Avatar n tn I am not sure what they are but I think you should see an oral surgeon for a definitive diagnosis and more appropriate medication.
Avatar m tn During the lidocaine infiltration test, lidocaine anesthetic is administered to the area where the styloid process is palpable in the tonsillar fossa. If the patient’s symptoms and local sensitivity subside the test result is considered positive and Eagle’s syndrome is diagnosed.
Avatar n tn However, as far as your pain source goes, you need to know if the pain is from your back or hip before operating or treating either at this point. Perhaps a lidocaine and steroid injection in your hip joint under fluoroscopy would help to know. As far as weight loss before surgery, it ‘s good, but not critical for 20 lb difference. Dr.
