Avatar f tn For nearly two years I have had experienced severe to chronic pain in my right eye. Over the past two years, I have seen 4 doctors, including opthamologists, optometrists, and I am currently seeing a neuro-ophthalmologist. I have had a multitude of tests including 2 MRI's. Recently I have been experiencing floaters when I have the pain. The pain is becoming more frequent and more severe. At times I also experience a sharp line of pain straight through my brain.
Avatar m tn The ophthalmologist said via a nurse, that he has given many people with caine allergies this drug without reactions as Lidocaine in the eye reacts differently than in other parts of the body. I need another opinion on that. Actual consultation with any ophthalmologist at this clinic is difficult. I have no idea what type of surgery they will perform regarding removal of the old lens, what type of new lens they will insert adaptive or fixed.
Avatar m tn Hello... nice to meet you all... I go directly to the question okay? I just need some opinion... I'm a medical doctor, and 3 hours ago I'm working on some nail extraction to a 40y.o female patient... when I'm injecting the lidocaine (with infiltration anesthesia technique), some lidocaine sprayed directly into my right eye...
Avatar f tn But now I have swollen lymph nodes in pubic region by vaginal area and red bumps in my butt crack. It hurts to have a bowel movement and hurts to sit down. When I cleaned up today I noticed a clear fluid or wetness with an odor on tissue. Could this ne an outbreak?
Avatar n tn I had the lidocaine block as a diagnostic test to indicate that I was a good candidate for sinus surgery, and would not recommend it as a long-term treatment or solution. The lidocaine made the pain in my nose, right eye, and upper teeth disappear almost instantly, but also made it hard for me to breathe or swallow for almost two hours afterwards. It made me nauseous as well, and the pain came back as soon as the lidocaine-saturated cotton was removed from my sinus cavity.
Avatar m tn Getting lidocaine for wisdom tooth extraction--felt the needle going in and woke up 45 minutes later in ER. I had had a seizure! Hundreds of shots for teeth over the years, never any such experience. Surgeon swore he found no blood in syringe and couldn't understand why I seized. Swore he did everything right, never heard of lidocaine causing a seizure this way. Apologized profusely. I'm now worried about completing the extraction, which has to be done.
Avatar f tn I have had ten individual retinal tears (that is what they have been called). 4 in my right eye and 6 in my left. I have been seeing an ophthalmologist for the last 14 years or so due to toxoplasmosis scarring in the back of my eyes. My first tear occurred approx. ten years ago and every couple of years since then, I have had to get a repair or two done. I am extremely nearsighted and almost 50 years old. I understand that nearsightedness can cause the retinal tears.
Avatar n tn Usually, a local injection of lidocaine, then a small excision in the office, and usually not much bleeding at all and usually no stitches. Quick and easy hopefully. Helps if your surgeon has good skills.
1503794 tn?1289543525 Plaquanel can affect the eye but it causes problem on the inside back of the eye. Your problem would require looking at the eye but JRA patients have problems with surface dryness and it might be a pingueculum. Steroids could cause cataracts but again that's inside the eye. Your sympmtoms sound like you may have a dry eye.
Avatar f tn I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
Avatar m tn only 1/4 inch came out so a good 1/2 inch is still in there i can see it thru the nail. I attempted to cut and split the nail with razor blade but once i got part way thru nail it hurt bad. my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..

Has anyone here used it before? And did it help? I tried to use it last night but it wouldnt stick to my neck.
Avatar f tn My daughter now 17.5 has been in severe pain for 4 years (as of 8/18). One day we were playing tennis, next day could not get out of bed and since has not been able to walk at all. They cannot see what's wrong on MRI, long story there, but now in MA the docs are going to give her lidocaine infusions and started her on nortriptyline 10 mg with increasing doses.
Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
Avatar m tn Can it be that your girl friend has used lidocaine ointment for pain in vagina? Lidocaine can affect your glans, causing you feeling of numbness. I hope some one come out with appropriate answer to solve your problem. This is a delicate question. Did anyone else experience similar problem with her. I understand that this quite a delicate question. However, if you have continue relationship, you might have to ask frank question. It is again intruquing Sp?
Avatar f tn Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar n tn Three weeks ago I had a migraine headache that woke me up in the middle of the night. It felt like someone was stabbing me in the right eye with an ice pick. The migraine was located on the right side of my head and remained unilateral (in terms of pain). This lasted for 3-4 hours. I took Excedrin Migraine (which usually helps) but it didn't put a dent in this.
Avatar m tn If you feel like the test was in error, you could always try to get retested and note your lidocaine usage.
Avatar f tn I have had bad reactions to regular novocaine in the past, prior to my SVT diagnosis in 2001, so he has given me lidocaine since then. For the past ten years prior to my ablation in April 2011, I was on beta blockers (atenolol) so there were no issues. I was taken off beta blockers 3 weeks after my ablation. Have had dental work requiring lidocaine since then, with no issues until now. While he was injecting the second shot of novocaine, an SVT episode suddenly triggered.
306455 tn?1288862071 lotsatrout...good idea...you ought to get a patent....lidocaine suit...i like that!!! ...My educated guess says it is not addictive!!!...and we know where my educated guesses have gotten me before!!!
Avatar m tn Hi, six months after my left-side thoracotomy I was yesterday told by my surgeon (USA) that I need to get Lidocaine intercostal nerve-block injections for a persistent pain issue I'm having. Here in my country, Cyprus, though, it's impossible to find someone who has experience in injecting Lidocaine on the thorax. So, my second option is UK, but still I would need to find someone specialized on this type of nerve-block. Any recommendations?
Avatar f tn Look at the ingredients on the bottle. Benzocaine is mostly made up of lidocaine -a numbing agent in no way related to cocaine. You are more likely to test positive for THC (pot) from using motrin.
Avatar f tn The itching is unberable at time I feel I could reach in and pull the eye out. I have thought about taking a gun to myself (thankfully I don't own a gun) I am on Lyrica for the pain and no-one seems to be able to help. Yesterday a lady told me about shingles going up into the brain. Please tell me that is highly unlikely.
673999 tn?1226935279 s so bad my body often kicks out the catherter then putting it backs in causes rawness and more pain. I heard of a DR in PA who mixes topical pain relief just for this, but cant find anyone in Dayton OH who can make any of these for me. Do you know of a topical gel or where I could get the creams made? My urologist willing to write script but no one knows where to get it done? Please I want to get better!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar n tn She would get little anal fissures so our family doctor wrote us a script for a compounded ointment but what really helped give her some relief was the Lidocaine topical gel our doctor prescribed for her. I put a small amount around her anus which created a numbing effect so that she would stop holding back when she had to go. I guess doctors use Lidocaine for numbing before different procedures and my doctor said it worked wonders for hemorrhoids, too.
