Avatar f tn m not sure which it is, it just started being painful in the last two days, and I have yet to see a doctor - I have Lidocaine Hydrochloride Jelly USP 2% prescription, dated 2/14/12, that was never opened, can I use it safely to see if it helps,
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with genital hsv2 about 3 months ago through PP. The initial outbreak was almost over when I was tested so I don't know if the acyclovir aided in clearing it up or not. I was told to take it 3x a day whenever I first notice symptoms and continue for 7-10 days, longer if it isn't cleared up yet. I've had at least 2 more outbreaks in the same spot since then and been taking the acyclovir for about a month straight right now.
Avatar f tn A few years ago my mom was diagnosed with vaginal and rectal cancer in the end the doctor prescribed her lidocaine 2% jelly for painful intercourse and bowel movements. Would it be safe to use it during anal sex? I have used it before after the birth of my daughter and it worked wonders. I would like an idea on it before I did use it.
Avatar f tn Should I consult my doc or what. I used dibucaine ointment and am contemplating lidocaine jelly. Any other tx options would be appreciated.

1264863 tn?1391118193 Hi- nothing cures these things! Look for a mouthwash/spray containing Benzydamine hydrochloride. Most everything is a prescription and doesn't always help. Ask your pharmacist if he'll give you some viscous lidocaine to swish around. He may have other suggestions of new stuff I don't know about ... stick with bland foods and liquids; drink through a straw. I feel badly for you...
306455 tn?1288862071 lotsatrout...good idea...you ought to get a patent....lidocaine suit...i like that!!! ...My educated guess says it is not addictive!!!...and we know where my educated guesses have gotten me before!!!
458072 tn?1291415186 Well the queen of England so I have heard takes it and she comes from a very long lived family .and uses Homeopathy so did her Mom ...
Avatar n tn However, some do it under local anesthesia also using lignocaine jelly. Hence, this procedure can be done under local anesthesia. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn caine drugs including Lidocaine which seems to be the favorite agent for Ophthamologists. I never had a skin test for that drug in particular but in the past couple years, eating chocolate has caused itching on my hands. As chocolate and the caine drugs all come from the same plant I presume any derivative from that plant would cause a reaction. I also have severe allergic contact dermatitis to pine sap and tomatoes. That takes a trip to urgent care for a Prednisone shot to get relief.
Avatar f tn i am taking bupropion hydrochloride xl 150mg and it says do not chew, i was wondering what would happen if i did. i have a brother that recreationally uses drugs and i want to be sure he would not want to take my meds away from me.
Avatar f tn I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this: "Additionally, epinephrine and lidocaine usually aren’t used in patients with thyroid disease, or disease of the kidneys or liver.
673999 tn?1226935279 The new standard inoffice bladder instillation for IC is Lidocaine instillation with bicarbonate solution. The lidocaine is a local anesthetic and the bicarbonate allows the lidocaine to penetrate the bladder wall to get to the bladder nerves. Lidocaine without the bicarbonate solution has only minimal bladder wall penetration and very short duration of action (minutes to an hour).
Avatar f tn It probably isn't the lidocaine, it's the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.
Avatar f tn In the future, ask doc to prescribe lidocaine jelly, so that you are prepared in case you get a painful one, just in case. Save it for when you need it. Clean wound twice a day. I might also suggest keeping prescription pain killers handy, but don't use unless you need it to avoid addiction. I had a very painful episode the night after thanksgiving when all the docs were on vacation and I would have had to pay off hours fee at a clinic.
927194 tn?1244110504 I went from percocet 5/325 mg 2 every 4 hours, to oxycodone hydrochloride 15 mg 2 every 4 hours, and I was just today switched to MS Contin 30 mg, twice a day, with the oxycodone hydrochloride for breakthrough pain as needed. I have been to the pain clinic twice so far. The first procedure they did was a steroid and lidocaine injection into my sacro illiac joint, and all that did was increase the pain in my hip tenfold. I couldn't walk for over a week, even with the medication.
Avatar n tn t have a headache. I understand that there is a test or treatment involving lidocaine dripped directly on the sphenopalatine nerve. How do I get to the right specialist. More importantly, do my symptoms sound like this syndrome. I plan to explore this more with my doctor which is 12 days away.
Avatar m tn Lidocaine is a well known anaesthetic with a long established safety history and many uses. In injectable form the medication has a relatively short half-life. It may not cure the tinnitis, but an injection will not harm you.
Avatar f tn My husband uses one that contains aloe, it is sold for after being in the sun, but he uses it in general. Good luck!
210982 tn?1280983895 My uncle who had cancer found that it was the only thing that took his back pain away. It has some sort of lidocaine, novocaine, or zylocaine properties in it that numbs the area of pain.I think you would benefit from it. You can pick it up from Walmart. If not, ask your doc For some Zylocaine Jelly. This is prescription strength and numbs the area really good, without making you feel high.Hope this helps.
1121273 tn?1325367975 This morning, I have a bunch of clearish jelly-like discharge. It has no odor. It is coming out in clumps or globs. Sorry for the TMI. I am 9 weeks today. It has been 3 years since I have had a normal pregnancy that didn't end in miscarriage, so I forget what is normal. Is this normal? I know that in the ones that I miscarried, I think I had something similar, so of course I'm scared. I had a u/s yesterday, and everything looked perfect. But, still nervous.
Avatar f tn t find it at the drugstore either bit other hospitals give it to you. Also my doc prescribed Lidocaine Jelly which is a topical that helps ease discomfort with stitches. Try that and do you r sitz baths...mine never itched but were extremely painful and sensitive.

Avatar f tn I still try to have it occasionally and sometimes use a spray with lidocaine. Every time I have sex I always bleed afterwards, not too much but it’s every single time. This is without using the spray/ unprotected/protected and using the spray. I’ve had a vaginal ultrasound in April which was normal and I’m clean for all sexual infections and have never had one. Can anyone suggest what to do or what it could be?
