Has anyone ever used a pain patch for their TMJ pain? have some Lidoderm patches, which contain 5% Lidocaine, which I have for my fibaro and spine problems. I just got back from Reno, Nv, which was an 1143 mile round trip. The trip down was fine, but the trip back today was in rain, hail, wind and snow. Needless to say now in more pain than ever. I had a massage while there, concentrated on the head, neck and shoulders. Masseuse commented I had a major major amt of tight muscles and knots.

I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.

Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!

Have had rectal pain for 2 months, thought it was hemorrhoids, GI and family doctors said it wasn't and didn't know what it was from for sure. Said to see a pain management doctor thinking it is a nerve in my recturm? However, I am confused as to what the pain management dr would do since no definite diagnosis. I tried everything over the counter including lidocaine with no relief. The pain is constant and only relief is when I sleep. Worried!!!

So when I told him about the pain dr. wanting to do a lidocaine IV infusion for my pain, the cardio. said no because if the lidocaine triggers that type of fast hearbeat again, my heart probably won't survive it, even with medical intervention. It would be done in a hospital with cardiac monitors because the lidocaine does have heart warnings on it for anyone getting it (even with normal hearts).

There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.

Hi, six months after my left-side thoracotomy I was yesterday told by my surgeon (USA) that I need to get Lidocaine intercostal nerve-block injections for a persistent pain issue I'm having. Here in my country, Cyprus, though, it's impossible to find someone who has experience in injecting Lidocaine on the thorax. So, my second option is UK, but still I would need to find someone specialized on this type of nerve-block. Any recommendations?

However, I get phenol shots in my neck for neck pain without lidocaine, which is painful. I will probably never never know what really happened.

they work pretty good for me and i have alot of back issues.....they dont kill all the pain but makes it bearable...make sense? lol....love u magi and hope ur feeling better soon....hows the sub working for ya?

hi there, go call you physician or dentist and ask for a prescription of benadryl, maalox, and lidocaine. It is commonly known as the "magic mouthwash" and I used to prescribe it all the time for patients going through chemo or had systemic diseases that created chronic apthous ulcers (aka canker sores.) The only thing I experienced was some sleepiness which lasted for about an hour after. My pain level was about a 7 when I got there, but I hadn't taken my morning pain med. It was a 4 when I left, but again, I had been sitting in a comfy recliner with warm blankets, so it's hard to really tell.

I did a lot of dishes today and went overboard. I fell asleep for a few hours and the pain is quite bad. I am on lidocaine for a cyst on my knee ( a small bump with a bundle of nerves) I wanted it removed, but was told it might open a new can of worms. I mean lidocaine patch. I have had ic for 5 years and also have urolgical pain in and around the vagina area. I use ice packs to calm the pain and have used heating pads. I am on elmiron,take prometrium for hormones which helps with sleep also. I have done bio feedback for pain and urgency. I am considering a vestibulectomy to relieve some of the pelvic pain. I was told of this surgery at Mayo Clinic. Hang in there and hope you find relief!!

Also, sometimes there is return of pain due to incomplete injection or not reaching the actual site. Thus the cause of pain will be difficult to determine if you are over active. s vitamin levels would make them feel a whole lot better and help them to be pain free for a week or so. It may not be the cure, or answer the cause to FMS, butif it helps with quality of life, I'd give it a shot! Don't know where to find it where I live (Salt Lake City, Ut.) but if anyone else knows, please post! Thanks!

For nearly two years I have had experienced severe to chronic pain in my right eye. Recently I have been experiencing floaters when I have the pain. The pain is becoming more frequent and more severe. At times I also experience a sharp line of pain straight through my brain.

No I have implanted pacemaker/defibrillator. Recently i developed severe back pain and can barely walk. I got prescribed Norco, lidocaine patches, and diclofenac 75 mg. So I did my research and ended up purchasing a vaginal dilator set and asked my doctors to prescribe lidocaine which is a numbing cream that helps with feeling no pain down there at all! By using lube, lidocaine and my dilators for months I was finally able to have Intercourse for the the very first time.

I've used Flector patch. Minimally to no help at all for my low back pain.
