suppressants. Physical therapy has also been used for
musculoskeletal chest pain. Local injections of combined lidocaine
(Xylocaine)/corticosteroid into costochondral areas can be, but is rarely used.
Costochondritis usually lasts a variable amount of time, from weeks to months, but usually goes away within a year.
