i went to the ER last night and he said I have an ear infection. Now this morning my ear is hurting 10x's worse then it was last night. Now i cant feel the right side of my face and there is an unbeiliveable pain in my neck. Is there anything I can do or whats wrong?
I have been getting some relief with carbamazepine (generic tegetrol) and lidocaine patches that I cut and put on jaw and in front of ear at night and lidocaine gel I can swab on my tongue during the day. I guess I'm still pretty terrified of what they are missing, but trying to move into the get relief phase.
ENT gave me Ciprodex? ear drops and said call if not feeling better. I am so bummed because the same fullness that hit me 2 years earlier is now really bad again. I kept going to this ENT clinic, now next ENT at this clinic removes crusting and tube is out. Then he removes right tube and I have hole in ear that may or may not heal. The pressure is unbearable. Over 1 + 1/2 mos. and still fullness/pain in my right ear and sinus mostly but sometimes goes to left side.
I had horrible dizzy spells and nausea along with the swelling. I kept going to the ear doctor, I'd get drops lidocaine to help numb things as the pain was awful and the noise in that ear was terrible. My hearing improved too! The surgery didn't work out for me, I still have alot of problems. I do cold laser and chiropractic adjustments to the jaw. They use a little thing like a shot giver. It doesn't hurt. But since I started doing that no more tinnitus at all and better hearing.

Surgeon put on ear drops and antiobiotics for infection. Didn't help. I still have this pain and pressure in the ear. Surgeon did not use dissolveable deep internal stitches. My body started rejecting them. They came to surface and the knots started to push through the skin on my face and behind my lower ear. I went back to have them removed in November 06. I was awake, multiple lidocaine injections. Surgeon said scar tissue formed and she had to dig through that to remove the stitches.
It sound like maybe he/she hit the nerve, during the ear suregery! If I were you I'd also get copies of MY medical records from the ear MD as well as the hospital surgical records. THE TN branch is right behind the ear. You may need them for a consult with another TN specialist ( oh make sure you get any and ALL x-rays MRI and stuff flims and not just the reports!) I hated the meds and had a horrible time with side affects and was still having pains..
Went to the doctor and they said the same thing about the shower thing which was rediculous. I have went to an ear noise throat specialize and they only gave me ear drops. the first dr suggested it was wax. I said wax isnt wet. I can feel it draining when Im laying down. I have had this for about 3yrs now. drives me crazy. I am thinking of going to a dermatologist next, has anyone went to one yet?
dryness, redness anf flaking of the ears. Its drops for the inside of your ear. I cant even put my ear on the pillow to sleep....really bad and all dried out and itchy. Ask the doc for it he said its good stuff.
Buy this medicine and keep for using during the headache and see if it aborts the same. Xylocaine 2% for Injection or 4% topical solution.(Known also lidocaine). This is a local anaesthetic. You are going to use it as nasal drops to see if it aborts the headache. At the onset of headache, lie down and let the head hang over the edge of the cot, so that it is at an angle of about 30 degrees, and turn the head to the side of headache.
Thank-you for your time and suggestions.....
Recipe for dry skin....12 oz of jojoba oil, six drops of aloe vera oil, six drops of vitamin e oil, 5 drops of lavender oil. Recipe for dry skin with rash.... Same as above but add 6 drops of teatree oil. Directions.... Wash & while skin is still damp (not wet) rub in small amount of oil, you only need a little. Jojoba is really more of a wax than an oil, American Indians have used it to soften leather. After a few months it even softens small lines in your face.
You can try steam inhalations, they help to loosen the secretions. Also, saline sprays or nasal drops will help to clear up the secretions. If it is in the throat warm salt water gargles will help. If there is an excess of mucus secretion check to see if it is an allergic response. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Mine just over the pass week has spread thru my right side nasal cavity, right sinus, ear and back of throat on the right side. I have to make my meds last an entire month so we usually snort four times a day then maybe a tylenol with ativan in between a few doses. It seems like air conditioning makes it worse.
If you can find a doctor who will prescribe 2% lidocaine to put into your sinuses (thru your nose - sounds gross - but it will stop the pain), and some A/B Otic ear drops QUA. I can't tell you why these headaches develop or which treatment actually made mine better, but my burning headaches developed into trigeminal neuralgia (for which I had surgery at University of Pittsburg) - and - after that surgery, this type of headache disappeared for years.
It felt like a marble under my scalp, about two inches above my left ear. Dr. said don't worry about it (scar tissure, benign cyst, etc.) Well, it decided to erupt one morning not long ago, for no apparent reason. All this white creamy stuff oozed out when I touched it. Then I smashed some more out. It was the consistency of toothpaste. Great, I thought. It finally popped. Wrong. This was just stage one. Although it was alot flatter, I could feel a core in it and it became very sensitive.
Hi Everyone I am going to the hospital this afternoon to see an ear/nose and throat specialist ( I don,t know what i am going for?) I am hoping that i will be having further tests on my thyroid but i am a bit anxious as i have been suffering with a severe head cold and tickling cough!!!! (I hope they can do what they need to) All this waiting is killing me and i am no nearer to getting any answers.
You should try some steam inhalation and saline nasal drops alongwith oral antihistamine medications and see if it helps with your symptoms. What nasal sprays have you been on? Are you allergic to any specific substances? It is infact a good idea to consult an allergy specialist and get a clinical evaluation. You should consult your symptoms if your symptoms still persist. Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts. Hope this helps. Regards.
Wow-I am just stunned to read a common link in all of these postings-anxiety! I am searching for some support on head pressure/ear pain/dizziness and came across this page. I am a 32 year-old female with anxiety problems. I,too, worry about brain tumors more than I care to. Of late I have had ear pain, been dizzy and have some pain behind my eyes and some muscle twitching in my face. I am always amazed to think that this could all be anxiety.

I've had this for many years and now it seems like it does not get better even though I been putting drops in my ears for over 2 months. I dont remember when I took this med before it affecting my hearing and now it seems like I keep getting blisters in my mouth. I feel like I'm falling apart. Is this related to peg and riba? because its driving me nuts.Dont know what to do on both but I will mention the mouth problem to my hep doctor as soon as I can. Any thoughts on this?
My hearing was getting worse in that ear..sounds were distorted and amplified and caused pain. I thought I had a very bad ear infection. I'd thought I'd slept in a bad position and had a stiff neck. (Leading up to this episode, I'd been under a terrible amount of stress for weeks...very tired...had some cold/flu like symptoms, including loose bowel movements. ) I went to the emergency room at 2 AM because I couldnt tolerate the worsening pain and the facial paralysis had me frightened.
My mom has arthritis really bad in her neck, and she had the injections, they helped her alot. I think they used lidocaine, B-12, and something else, but not cortisone. Hope your feeling better. I'm even thinking about trying some Lyrica, my dad had a prescription from when he had shingles. My doc said I could try it. I dunno. Talk again later!!!!
I had one removed by my doctor in his office. He used lidocaine (6 shots that were unbelievable painful) to numb the area and cut it off and cauterized the area. I'm having a rough time - I feel like I have the worst hemorroid flare up going on right now. I'm taking colace and fiber supplement, drinking plenty of water and began using the Desitin a few days before they recommended I start. I dread going to the bathroom, but I go regularily.
My cold spray legs feels like tiny drops of cold water misting on my legs but migrating over an area but only lasting for a few seconds. Do they know what causes your problem w/ that feeling?
Initially my doctor thought it was a fungal infection, however the symptoms did not subside after being treated with an anti-fungal medication. Then I was sent to an ear, Nose, Throat Specialist. He did not have any answers either. He suggested that I use a tongue scraper and he prescribed an antimicrobial rinse. He said it's just something that I have to learn to live with. I still have an orange tongue though. It's been frustrating trying to figure out the cause of this ailment.
I can feel them crawl through the ear drum. When the ear drum pop I can feel them pour out of the ear like I won a slot machine. I am talking small and still feel them. The Indians and pioneer use to wet straw to smoke out the mites of homes. If had access to a smoke hut where they smoke food,I would be sleeping in it. The peroxide ear cleaning don't kill them and don't last. So I am hoping the smoke will help. We all have lungs that make co2.
Hi, What is your age? Are you allergic to any specific substances? Have you had allergic reactions in the past? Do you have any symptoms of sinusitis or rhinitis? What other medications are you on currently? You should get an ENT evaluation and get a CT scan of your sinuses done if advised by your ENT specialist advises. Till then you should try some steam inhalation, saline nasal drops and see if it helps with your symptoms.
my eye doctor told me it was due to mild allergies and prescribed eye drops which didnt help in the least so i turned to over the counter allergy medicine which hasn't helped either (so i dont think it's allergies) and in the last 3 weeks not only are my eyelids itchy but when i wake up in the morning my upper eye lids are bright red and swelled up so bad that its embarassing!!!!
Like I explained to the doc, if I take a beta blocker and at night my heart rate or bp drops too low and becomes life threatening or fatal for me....you know what.....tomorrow his life will continue as usual....and mine won't. I will tell anyone, research things for yourself. That few minutes you spend talking to the doc is not enough time for them to accurately get a full picture of everything.
