Avatar n tn i went to the ER last night and he said I have an ear infection. Now this morning my ear is hurting 10x's worse then it was last night. Now i cant feel the right side of my face and there is an unbeiliveable pain in my neck. Is there anything I can do or whats wrong?
Avatar m tn Yes! me. I wound up having jaw surgery (btw it didn't fix it) but the TMJ was making my ear messed up. I had horrible dizzy spells and nausea along with the swelling. I kept going to the ear doctor, I'd get drops Lidocaine to help numb things as the pain was awful and the noise in that ear was terrible. My hearing improved too! The surgery didn't work out for me, I still have alot of problems. I do cold laser and chiropractic adjustments to the jaw.
Avatar f tn Hi Deb, Have you gone back to the surgeon that did the EAR operation. It sound like maybe he/she hit the nerve, during the ear suregery! If I were you I'd also get copies of MY medical records from the ear MD as well as the hospital surgical records. THE TN branch is right behind the ear. You may need them for a consult with another TN specialist ( oh make sure you get any and ALL x-rays MRI and stuff flims and not just the reports!

Avatar n tn did not describe any of these unwanted symptoms prior to the visit to your doctor I am more inclined to believe that the problem you are experiencing is a result of using the paraffin (mineral oil) ear drops. This product will not irritate the ear canal or the sensitive membranes; however, it can cause the wax within the canal to swell. The swelling of the wax may create a sense of fullness, can occlude the ear canal and cause hearing loss & can cause you to feel dizzy.

Avatar n tn I gave her 5 drops in each ear for 5 nights before I realized that the drops were eye drops. Will this hurt her in any way?
Avatar f tn I was on ear drops & amoxicillin for 20 days a month ago for a double ear infection. It's fine. My OB was the one who prescibed them.
Avatar n tn Can you name the product the vet gave you for her ear mites? My cat had ear mites. I took him to the vet where he got vaccinations to kill not only ear mites but also other common parasites. I was given Mita Clear to put in his ears every day. What product did you get at the vet?
Avatar f tn My orbital itself is what hurts and I do not have vision loss. We have tried injections of lidocaine, steroids, steroid drops, oral steriods, indocin, and gabapentin; none of which have helped. The pain is NOT a migraine. I am NOT having sinus issues or The doctor I am currently seeing is at Barnes Jewish Hospital's Center for Advanced Medicine. We are quickly running out of options and doctors in the St. Louis area and the doctors are at a loss.
Avatar f tn it important to keep up with the drops and get rid of the yeast, try massaging the outside of the ear after you put the drops in....the ear is feeling wet and irritated thats why he is shaking his head. the hematoma may not improve until after you are done the course of ear drops, than I hope it will slowly go down.:( good luck..
Avatar n tn Perhaps you have some eczema in the earcanal (did the MD give cortisone drops?) I would be careful about putting any kind of cream into the ear, or anything for that matter. Some use olive oil drops as a home remedy.
1712306 tn?1308395586 Some people use 3-6 drops of olive ear in the ear. First, you need to get a cloth or cotton ball and clean as much of the debris out of the ear as possible. You would apply the drops and rub the ear from the outside. This can take 2-4 weeks to clear up. I've read also that you can use vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) and put a few drops in the ear. You DO NOT want to do this if the ear is sore and irritated as it will sting.
Avatar m tn Hi, I went to the doctors with tinnitus. She told me it was due to ear wax and would need syringing. So I've started ear drops (earex brand) in preparation. However these seem to have left the ear with a permanently blocked/head in a bucket feeling. Is this normal? Will it be fixed once syringed?
Avatar f tn As stated big lymph node removed, and of course the area on my neck going up to the jawline was numb to the touch. No nerve block but lidocaine used. Now it’s been 38 hours and it’s still dead numb to the touch. Haven’t even used my pain medication. I can tell it’s swollen though as well I swallow/chew I feel a tight clenching there that makes it a bit difficult.
Avatar f tn So of course I went to er and they said oh yea your ear is definitely mad, you’ve ruptured your eardrum here’s some antibiotic ear drops just Incase and keep it free of water for two weeks. I didn’t wash my hair for three and only took shallow baths no showers. My hearing seemed to be more sensitive after a few weeks but nothing alarming no pain no fluid no irritation when I smoke cigs during the whole healing time.
Avatar f tn It probably isn't the lidocaine, it's the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.
Avatar f tn s nd this is my second time getting ear pain /infection in my ear nd my doctor gave me ear drops nd med for the infection so just double check with ur ob doctor good luck nd I hope u feel better soon ...
Avatar m tn I went to the doctors for an ear infection, he prescribed drops. After about 12 days he said the infection was dead and I could stop using the drops. Few days later ear hurt again and after checkup doctor told me to start the drops again. About a week later he told me he was sure it was gone this time and I can stop the drops again.
Avatar f tn Has anyone used medicated ear drops for an ear infection? Im in my second trimester.
Avatar f tn My ear is itchy, irritated and ringing slightly. This happened to me a few months ago and I used ear drops bought at the pharmacy. Three days later, it only moved the wax to completely block my ear (and hearing) so I went to see a doctor who syringed it out. I experienced vertigo that night so I'm hoping for another solution for this. Can olive oil work alone on the wax, given it is used for a few days, without the need for syringing?
Avatar f tn I honestly would ask your doctor... I think it depends on the ear drops or it might not matter at all but during pregnancy you're not really allowed to take anything for infections..
Avatar n tn I had a FNA on Thursday and had been assured that the most painful part of the procedure was the injection of lidocaine. This was definitely not the case, as the physician didn't give time for the lidocaine to set in before he began the procedure. After the 3rd biopsy I told him we were going to have to stop the test because of the pain. At that point he told the nurse to give more lidocaine.
Avatar f tn Still blocked and in incredible pain onto ear antibiotics drops w/steroroids. These were just sitting in my ear. I went to an ENT he removed pus said I had a horrible infection did not know how I was up and about. He put me on a different antibiotic/steriod concetrate drops. 4 days later I could not hear at all. I went in and he drained more pus, cultured my ear, said that I had a fungus infection. He injected a lotimin cream in my ear. Now I really cannot hear and I am still miserable.
