Avatar m tn My first inital OB lasted for about a week (pretty short) and I was prescribed with Acyclovir 400MG and Lidocaine 2.5% and Prilocaine 2.5% cream from my local Plant Parenthood. After my outbreak..I felt very normal. No tingling sensation, no itching, zero symptoms. That was during March. Since early April, I've been feeling a lot of tingling and itching on my genitals and buttox. I did catch a cold earlier, but now I am over it.

Avatar f tn I did a lot of research on the internet and found out there are two numbing creams LMX 4% Lidocaine, (available behind the counter) and EMLA 2.5% Lidocaine, 2.5% Prilocaine which requires a prescription. I bought both, and actually tested them on myself at home, by sticking insulin needles in myself after 2 hours of leaving the numbing cream on, and it works!

Avatar m tn Have you started your shots yet? If so, and you are worried about the needle, it is a very teeny and short little thing and, when you finally get brave enough to "just do it", you barely feel it. After you get past the fear from poking yourself, it's no big deal...Me? -the first couple weeks I had to stand against a wall so I couldn't flinch away from the poke! Pathetic, huh? Avatar m tn Amitrityline-2%, Ketoprofen – 10%, Gabapentin – 3%, Lidocaine – 2% and Transdermal Gel – 60 g. Needs a prescription to get. You'll need a special pharmacy who can mix it up. If you have trouble finding one, my pharmacy also mails them out. Also, putting an ice pad on your head can sometimes help a migraine. Let me know if this info helps you at all. Good luck.
1264863 tn?1391118193 hi there, go call you physician or dentist and ask for a prescription of benadryl, maalox, and lidocaine. It is commonly known as the "magic mouthwash" and I used to prescribe it all the time for patients going through chemo or had systemic diseases that created chronic apthous ulcers (aka canker sores.) If for some reason you can't get to the dr., use the combination of equal parts liquid benadryl and maalox (or mylanta) gargle and swish for 60 seconds then spit..
Avatar n tn Also lidocaine gel, you need a script for it, but when I initial ask my URO for a script or for ideas to help treat my urethral pain, he said that a man is easier treat because you have a larger area to actually shoot the lidocaine in there and it will stay. he said this was true for both the lidocaine gel and the urethra suppositories. Another treatment often used for IC is rescue instills of medications to numb and soothe the bladder.
