Avatar n tn Hello, Causes of itchy anal rash include moisture(due to sweating or frequent washing), the abrasion caused by clothing, the pressure of sitting, chemical irritants like laundry soaps, colognes and scented toilet paper, certain food irritants, medicines like some antibiotics and laxatives, infections like STD’s and pinworms, anal abrasions and fissures and skin problems such as psoriasis, seborrhea and eczema. Avatar f tn ask for a prescription of Hydroxyzone and I would also add go ahead and try a little hydrocortisone cream and maybe alternate it with a little lidocaine cream. My guess is it's part of the overall rash. If it doesn't improve, I would definitely call the doctor. Use the same philosopy as for the overall rash: clean, soothe, protect.
Avatar m tn Hello, Hydrocortisone is a steroid cream and if you have been using steroid cream for such a long time, then please do not use it as it can cause side effects like thinning of skin and increased fragility. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar m tn My doctor prescribed 3% lidocaine/0.5% hydrocortisone cream (which took two days to get). I was also using the hemorrhoid cream. In addition, I was using about 4-5 baby wipes to clean the area each time so that there was not one speck of anythiong left to irritate the hemorrhoids. Interestingly enough, about 6 days after that pain started, it began to decrease and after a couple more days, it was almost gone. I still had the external hemorrhoids but the hemorrhoid cream took care of them.
Avatar f tn I am using Benadryl, Keri lotion, and Hydrocortizone cream for the rash and itching, but I will admit, so far mine has been mild. As for the Fire in the Hole, that side effect has been a doozy. I am using unscented baby wipes with aloe after going to the BR (Huggies), hemorrhoid cream, sometimes A&D ointment (for any outer excoriation), prescription Lidocaine 3%/Hydrocortizone 0.5% cream, and hemorrhoid suppositories.
Avatar n tn Dear Doctor, I was seen for some mild swelling on my face (probably due to some sunscreen or makeup I was using) on Jan. 24th and my doctor prescribed me some .02% hydrocortisone cream for my face. I put it on my face and the remainder I rubbed in my hands. I did this for three days, and afterward my skin was red and burning, and the skin has thinned and the skin is strange looking. I stopped as soon as I noticed something was wrong. It's still really damaged (March 10th).
1415174 tn?1453243103 Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Ask your Dr. I'm pretty sure that it would depend on the cream. I was using a prescription NSAID cream before I got pregnant and had to stop once we found out because they don't know the risks and how much might actually get into your bloodstream. I know that most Dr.'s recommend tylenol as a safe pain killer during pregnancy. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn My local doctor was wary of all the side effects and wanted to try a neurontin cream compounded with doxipen and lidocaine. This combo seems to help some days but other days it makes the itch so much worse. Has anyone else tried these compounded creams? What strength and what were the medications involved?
3997931 tn?1348977376 I was prescribed a cordizone for my bum (get soft toilet paper ladies and gents and be gentle! - my skin had small cracks in it that would bleed). AND it was so easy to fix with the right prescription from the doctor.
Avatar m tn My concerns are that i ve used hydrocortisone 1% cream on my anus for hemmorhoids.I read that they have immunosuppresive effects. i had multiple negative duo tests(abbott architect ag/ab) but this steroidal cream issue is bit of a nightmare for me. are my tests accurate? does using hydrocortisone on my rectum would affect the reliablity of my hiv tests?
Avatar f tn So I did my research and ended up purchasing a vaginal dilator set and asked my doctors to prescribe lidocaine which is a numbing cream that helps with feeling no pain down there at all! By using lube, lidocaine and my dilators for months I was finally able to have Intercourse for the the very first time.
Avatar n tn However I do not have a change in diet or environment so what could it be? He gave me hydrocortisone cream 1% and Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4mg. I finished the Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4mg and have some cream left. However I do not see any improvement at all. I have read some people's page saying that it may be bed bugs. Is that possible? If so why do i only get the red patch and boil around the hand areas where I had cat bite and scratches? (The wounds have all healed now.
Avatar f tn I had a hemmorroidectomy done on feb 26 2013 ever since I've been wearing diapers due to discharge and I appy hydrocortisone and lidocaine ointments to the affected area Now I have a rash that itches and it is a very uncomfortable feeling on march 26 it will be a month and still no signs of healing can someone help?.
Avatar m tn So i am quite young and i've always had eczema and have always treated it with creams and stuff but this one time i developed bad eczema on my cupids bow dimple area and so i used hydrocortisone and it went away and would always come back and it got to the point where i would put a lot of it on and now it is red and has a few lines through it and i can't get rid of it!
1986030 tn?1327535359 For the external excoriation I used a xylocaine with hydrocortisone (prescription) cream. However, when it got more excoriated, I switched to Desitin, which was qite soothng and healing. Like I said, once I figured out that it was the soft stools causing it, and I got the stools firmed up, I did not have any more problems. I hope some of these suggestions help. BTW, the flaming soft and or loose stools stopped when I finished Incivek.
Avatar n tn Wash the area with warm water and use only a mild hypoallergenic cleanser such Cetaphil. This will help soothe area. You may try applying 1% hydrocortisone cream to help with the scaling and redness. Apply once daily for 3 days and see if the skin reverts to normal. If not, then this needs further evaluation.
Avatar m tn I have been experiencing chronic pain on the head of my penis for more than a year and a half. I an a circumcised male with hypospadias. Anything that brushes against the area feels like sandpaper. This includes underwear (any type including 100% cotton), the touch of my hand, soft sheets, anything. I do not feel pain from squeezing/pressing on the area. I am in constant pain as I walk around during normal routine.
Avatar n tn Most see the signs of thinning in their 30s and 40s, and this is generally on the sensitive areas they used it most in their younger years, such as the face and neck. Mention to your doctor that your skin is responding to hydrocortisone cream and he can prescribe you a similar treatment specifically for the genital area. All the best.
Avatar n tn Ever since I took a 6 month course of Roaccutane for my acne (2 years ago) the skin on the glans and under the foreskin of my penis has been dry, some parts have consistent red/pinkish patches and occasionaly rashes. I have applied anti-fungal creams (did not work), acqueous cream (made it more bearable but not made it dissapear), salt bathing and to check it wasnt an allergy switched to non-latex condoms and to non-allergenic washing powder for my clothes.
643867 tn?1225298753 Hi, I need to correct my original post - my prescription was 10 mg AM, 5 mg lunch time, and 5 mg afternoon or evening. When I started it I wasn't on any other hormones and felt awful. But shortly after starting it I felt it was too much. I felt WAY too hyper, elevated resting pulse, and more. Then I started the hormone cream and felt I didn't need it anymore and actually felt great without it and just using the hormone cream. However, the hormone cream was dosed too high (it had 2.
Avatar n tn So my foreskin, where circumcision took place seems very thin, like when i am soft there seems to be a ot of extra skin, and red in spots. Last week i put hydrocortisone cream on the area for dry skin. After this, i read that hydrocortisone cream can thin out the skin in the genital area, is this true? if so could this be what i am experiencing? any other ideas?
Avatar n tn My 8-mo old son's eyes were exposed to hydrocortisone cream (0.5%) and his eyes are swollen, upper eye lids are red and he cannot open his eyes. We took him to ER last night and they said it could be conjunctivitis and prescribed an eye ointment which we put on this morning approx 5 hrs ago. He also got some benedryl last nite at ER. He still is not opening his eyes and the swelling seems to be a little less than last night. What do you recommend we do?
Avatar f tn I would compare it to getting a tattoo that never ends. Hydrocortisone cream did nothing to ease the pain. I ended up buying some lidocaine at the drugstore which helped immensely. I also have an autoimmune disease (RA). My guess is that the drug caused a big immune response and my body unearthed a dormant virus as my prize. Who knows. I wish there was more literature on this subject!
Avatar f tn Does it itch? You can always try hydrocortisone cream/spray or Benadryl cream/spray. Possibly? My vet has used that for Beener a few times when he had some skin issues. We had to put a collar on him for about and hour so he wouldn't lick it off. Keep us posted!!
Avatar m tn Xylocain /lidocaine are anesthetic cream. Longer use can create numbness. If you have applied more cream, it affects vagina as wee, numbing vagina and reducing the pleasure of sex activity. Numbness is not permanant. It is reversible. Stop using xyocaine. You will recover in due course of time. To help you to hasten the recovery, you may do Male deer exercise. Google the word. Learn it and do the exercise regularly. You may recover within a month's time.Spell check not done.
Avatar m tn I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain. Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
Avatar f tn The sores are just itchy little red bumps the size of a penny,so. I bought so hydrocortisone steroids, and I used it for almost two months and I didn't know I should of spaced it out and my penis atrophied really bad, and I guess the ointment.
Avatar m tn This sounds like dermatitis, or irritation, rather than a yeast infection. I think you might benefit from using hydrocortisone cream 1% twice a day for a week or two. It doesn't sound as though any of the medicines your urologist prescribed are cortisone creams--they sound like antibiotics. If the cortisone doesn't work, you should see a skin doctor. By the way, your personal profile has no photos I can find. Best. Dr.
