Lexapro with remeron

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro with remeron

lexapro

Avatar f tn Hello has anybody had frequent urination because of taking SSRI's? It seems that every SSRI I've tried makes me go to the bathroom a lot. I was wondering what you all think? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't have a UTI because I was tested for it. If I don't take my Lexapro I go crazy so I feel like I need it in my system.
Avatar m tn I would give Remeron a shot before trying Abilify as Remeron is supposed to have reduced side effects compared to several other antidepressant and you are subject to less interactions.
Avatar n tn As you probably know, there are relatively fewer problems with Remeron withdrawal than with other agents (especially paroxetine and venlafaxine) but that knowledge doesn't help you. What kind of symptoms are you having right now? The usual therapeutic dose for Lexapro is 10 mg, 7.5 mg might also be therapeutic for some people, but it is almost impossible to find a way to take that dose.
Avatar n tn I am on 20mg of Lexapro and 30mg of Remeron. Was on 10mg Lexapro and 45mg Remeron, but the weight gain is very real so I am attempting to get off the Remeron. When I asked what I could add to the Lexapro (since I have treatment resistant depression) I was told Seroquil might be a good addition. Sometimes I'm not sure if my doctor really knows what he's talking about. I don't want to gain weight on Seroquil after finally getting off Remeron.
Avatar m tn Thank you doc, I will try it in the morning. I did do some further research on ability and it too explained that it keeps you up at night and it is non sedating. I just wonder why my doc told me to take it at night, thats sounds weird. Maybe he didn't want me to mix it with my other meds, lexapro, verapamil, water pill and vitamins. But I will give it a try in the morning.
Avatar f tn Please double check with your doctor, as both Lexapro and Remeron are antidepressants, and there is a contraindication taking them both at the same time. Didn't we go through this with the Prozac too? What did the doctor say about taking them concurrently?
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm on tamoxifen so I can't take any meds which inhibit cyp2D6 enzymes. I've been on almost ALL SSRI ( Effexor, lexapro, celexa, nortriptyline, fetzima, & viibryd) & my depression worsens with them (suicidal thoughts, etc). The only one that has helped is remeron but every time I've had to return to remeron I gain weight. I'm usually 110-112 and eat very well & workout almost everyday.
494087 tn?1257793207 My current psyc Dr doesnt really listen, he prescribed me remeron 60mg and klonopin 2mg to take at night to help me sleep I think the klonopin is working but the remeron is all wrong for me. I am NOT depressed but I think the remeron is making me feel that way and very lathargic and morbid thoughts. I think the remeron is also making me gain weight, does anyone else think that or feel taht way from remeron?
1302779 tn?1287405029 i am on celexa and klonopin and feel the celexa doesnt touch my anxiety! I would like to know if remeron helps u with anxiety? did u ever try celexa?
Avatar m tn I have been taking Remeron 30 mg since September 21, 2009, for depression/anxiety. I have few side effects (craving sugar most of the time). Anyhow, I have been experiencing mild panic attacks for about a week, nothing in particular is trigering this onset (at least not conscient). I have to take .5 of klonipin to kill the panic attack. I have used lexapro in the past for 8 weeks without any success.
Avatar m tn I was given 10 mg lexapro for anxiety and related depression in jan 2010 (I have never before taken any Psychiatric medicine) Is it possible to develop apathy/anhedonia from an SSRI drug (i took lexapro 10mg) from a 36 day use, started 15 mg remeron (prescribed to aid in sleep mainly) which I took for 7-8 days - (one 6th day of remeron I felt numb - could not think or feel - it laster for well over 2-3 hours till night dunring which period I felt like I will die an felt very angry and agitate
Avatar m tn My hands stopped shaking in stressfull situations, I got a good job, I went out with friends, I felt 90% cured while on Paxil. I took celexa and lexapro after this with mixed results. All these SSRI's definitely effected me sexually, I couldn't "finish" during sex, this was very upsetting to me, so I stopped. Now I am on klonopin (have tried beta blockers--they didn't work), it helps a bit but I still think that an serotonin drug may make my physical symptoms better.
Avatar f tn How bad dose the depression have to be before I take a chance on the possible benifits of lowering my depression . Will the Lexapro help with the Brain pause side effects as well? Any one with any information to help me make this choice would be helpfull . Thank You .
Avatar m tn After a failed attempt to fix my anxiety and subsequent depression that has come from it over the last 14 weeks with Lexapro and Paxil, my psych is switching me too Remeron (Mirtazapine) 30mgs. I started my first dose last night and already started my taper down of Paxil CR 50mg to Paxil CR 37.5 and hold there for a week. I also take Clonazepam 1mg at night to help me sleep due to the paxil. And I take Clonazepam .25mg dissolvable tablets during the day as needed for anxiety.
1305767 tn?1361192676 I've just started taking it after trying numerous other drugs for anxiety. (Lexapro, Celexa, Paxil, Remeron) Right now I don't like how shortly after taking a 10 mg pill I get dizzy and "brain zaps" (which is normally a symptom of SSRI discontinuation). These side effects go away within a couple of hours but I am curious if Buspar has helped anyone with their anxiety in the long run or am I just wasting my time with this drug.
Avatar f tn He also put me on 15 mg of Remeron. It has helped with my sleep but the depression has not changed due to the pain. I have been on the remeron for 2 weeks. Any experience with this med? I will see my pain manangement doc in 2 weeks. I ahve been on avinza 90mg for 2 years. Xodol for breakthrough pain for 2 years. My pain level is increasing and the xodol does nothing for my break through pain. Any ideas what options are available for me.
Avatar n tn Are there any long term effects of Remeron? Can I take Remeron while using the CPAP machine? Are there any less intense prescriptions or over-the-counter mdications that might offer me some benefit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I take it and it works fine for me, but I do know others that said it made them feel zombie-ish. I combine my Lexapro with a Tri-Cyclic AD and that seems to be doing the trick. (at least until I build up a resistance to these meds also) Lexapro isn't for everyone, perhaps it's just not the right medication for you. I know you have tried Zoloft before, but have you ever tried Effexor?
Avatar n tn I was taking Lunesta 3mg prior to the Lexapro for 1 1/2 years. With the Lexapro, the Lunesta was ineffective. The MD put me on 15mg of Remeron with the Lunesta and this really helped. In an attempt to ward off tolerance to Lunesta, I now alternate ( 2 weeks at a time) between Lunesta 3mg and zolpiedem ( Ambien) Since the zolpiedem has a much shorter 1/2 life than the Lunesta, I take 5mg about 11:30 and another 5mg at 3:00 or whenever I awake.
Avatar m tn You must know that one size does not fit all concerning drugs. Some people had a bad experience with Lexapro and went to Cymbalta and it was a life saver and the same is true for Cymbalta. Final word, I woud choice between Lexapro and Cymbalta and you must note that i'm not a doctor and you should talk about it with you doctor prior making a decision.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, My new therapist claims that many of her patients have improved on Lexapro - so I was hoping to get some comments from members. My sister went on it and her blood pressure shot up and didn't sleep well, so she got off it, so I am rather scared as I am anxious over my blood pressure readings. I personally like to use all that CBT , relaxation and other stuff and the occassional anti-anxiety pill when things get a bit out of control.
1070971 tn?1299614110 Do you think with time these effects will get less or will she have to increase my dose again? Just wondering what anyone thought with their experiences with Remeron. I have tried Prozac, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, and Paxil in the past and they all did not agree with my body. Well..... the Wellbutrin did for a couple of years then I started having anxiety on it.
