Hi all As part of my treatment for trying to uncover why I have tachycardia, I had to see a psychiatrist, who has prescribed me Xanax (extended release - once daily) and Lexapro b/c he believes i suffer from generalized anxiety and possible depression. Does anyone on this board (with heart rhythm issues) have success stories from these drugs that you could share with me?

I am on several medications - Lexapro, Aciphex, and Domperidone). Could these have anything to do with it? Please respond.

With the first he was on Lexapro, and it worked well. With the second he was on Lexapro, added Bupropion (which didn't work well - made him feel "funny' - so it was discontinued), and then added Trazedone, which worked well in combination with the Lexapro. With triple therapy with Inc., he is currently on Citalopram, and it's working well. He wasn't able to be on Lexapro because it is contraindicated with Incivek.

In my case I have been taking a lite dose of Lexapro (10Mils a day ) and Klonipin as needed and that not real often . Anyway I would appreciate some input on this if you all would be so kind . This really does suck when it hits . I'll be back after bowling to check out your responses .

I have posted some questions here with not alot of help!!! Ok have had so many test done, barium swallow ct scan of chest and stoamach 24 hr prob test gi scope urine test blood test tyroid test cbc test all normal vitamins blood test norma!! I do have anxiety but Im wondering can anxiety cause you to feel like something is stuck in you throat almost all the time? I tried ppis for 6 months did not help, when I was on the ppi things got worse burning mouth and throat!!

I was on lexapro in the beginning and I have had my meds switched several times from lexapro, welbutrin, then I was takin lexapro and welbutrin, and it wasnt helping so now im taking Zoloft... Zoloft is really good for me, it is helping me tremendous... its actually helped me better than lexapro, but everyone is different... I was also afraid of switching... I would atleast give it a chance, and see if it works...if it doesnt then you can tell your insurance...

m on Celexa now but am wondering if maybe Lexapro would be better since anxiety is my biggest concern. Has anyone had suggest with Lexapro. Also does Lexapro cause weight gain like Celexa?

When this first occurred my doctor had no clue what was happening and tried prescribing a couple of different medications for my problem. I was prescribed lexapro, fludrocortisone, anti-dizzy pills, beta-blockers and sent to several specialists. Nothing has had any positive effect on me so far. So far I have done so many blood tests that I can’t even count them, seen a cardiologist, a hematologist, a neurologist, a urologist and many other specialists.

i have gad. plus nerve problems effecting muscles. internal shaking.. is lexapro a good drug. or would a cymbalta be better. for the nerve problems plus anxiety.or is the lexapro. have the ingrediatnts that i need. on lexapro now 11 days ..

I needed a medication for severe depression. My Dr. put me on 20mg of Lexapro. I am now taking 5mg of Abilify to help the boost the Lexapro. I didn't notice the restlessness/anxiety until a month on the Lexapro. Anyone else have this side effect?

I took lexapro when I first started meds and it made me tired all the time and memory loss, which I couldnt remember what I did yesterday, type thing. I went from lexapro to welbutrin, then I was taking lexapro and welbutrin... but now the doc has me on Zoloft, which I feel is better for me than lexapro and welbutrin, I just dont like the sexual side affects.. which I cannot enjoy my sexual desires.. but im gonna go back to the doc for that...

I went to the doctor today and changed lexapro ten milligrams for pristiq fifty milligrams. My doctor told me to stop the lexapro all to gether but im reading lexapro has horrible withdrawel symtoms. Has any one stopped lexapro?

I agree with Nursegirl...it's a great drug. I took Lexapro for eight years, until it recently stopped working, and then went on Zoloft, and now I'm back on the Lexapro. I have a very hard time tolerating most drugs, but Lexapro never caused me any side effects, except maybe some initial tiredness. I also felt naseaus on Zoloft, but like I said, Lexapro was great.

Not sure why your insurance company will not accept Lexapro. The cost difference between name brand Lexapro and name brand Celexa is nill.

Question: Since Lexapro is basically just a more expensive new version of Celexa, why the change?

I took Lexapro for several years with excellent results for depression and anxiety. It takes 4-6 weeks for medications like Lexapro to reach a therapeutic level in your system. Xanax is a fast acting anxiety medication which you take on an as needed basis. They work in different ways. Be patient, you will know when it kicks in. Take care.

So I have palpitations pvcs and fast heartbeat but eliminating caffeine and starting Metroprolol has helped a lot. But I also have pretty severe social avoidance and anxiety especially in unknown situations and people. I've been unemployed for some time because I'm so anxious about starting a job. I've been taking Xanax as needed for awhile which helps the anxiety and also just recently stopped Propranolol and started Metroprolol.

Hi people. My name is Leila i joined this website today hoping i could get some advice. My doctor says i have anxiety and she's put me on lexapro she told me they will take a while to work. Noone ever bothers to respond to my posts on here so not sure why I even bother but am going to post a last one out of need for advice..I suffer from anxiety disorder and avoidance, fear of crowds, unknown people, and unfamiliar settings. It's kept me from working due to fear of judgment and messing up or being judged or ridiculed. My doc has given me Lexapro 10mg. But I'm scared to take it.
