Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro vs mirtazapine

lexapro

Avatar f tn I take Lamictal & Lexapro in combo. They are a good team if you ask me but the point is you have to find out what works best for you. Consult you dr and make him/her know that you want better.
Avatar m tn remeron 15mg at bedtime was added to lexapro 10mg in am to lessen nausea and night-waking from lexapro. Needed to increase to Lexapro 20mg. This caused nausea to return. Will splitting Lexipro to 10 mg in am and 10mg with remeron help (eliminate nausea and not cause night waking)?
Avatar f tn m on Celexa now but am wondering if maybe Lexapro would be better since anxiety is my biggest concern. Has anyone had suggest with Lexapro. Also does Lexapro cause weight gain like Celexa?
Avatar m tn My boyfriend was prescribed zoloft for his anxiety but ended up switching to mirtazapine after 4 or 5 months. He was still have problems calming down his mind at night and couldn't sleep or eat very well even with the zoloft. I personally take lexapro for depression and anxiety. It has worked wonders. Only felt crappy for a few days after I started taking it and then I was feeling noticabley better. Been on it for 4 years now. I hope the zoloft works for you....
Avatar n tn Hello, I just switched from Lexapro to Wellbutrin. I was originally taking lexapro for anxiety which I have had for the past 10 or so years. After my daughter was born, I was then taking it for both anxiety and depression. I normally am not a depressed person. Now I switched to Wellbutrin because of the sexual side effects of Lexapro. My concern is that I have felt really dopy the last couple of weeks.
Avatar f tn The zoloft never seemed to work well, would have jitteriness, sweats and would seem to stop working around my period. I am going to see a naturopath and starting progesterone as she thinks that is my issue but I didn't feel I could go off a antidepresant yet so asked to switch to lexapro. Lexapro doesn't seem to be working well, still jittery crying spells etc. Never had anxiety before so at a loss at this point, am only 39 so very frustrating.
Avatar f tn t even take a Sudafed without being jittery and feeling strange. Granted, we are all different, but with that being said, I had virtually no side effects from Lexapro. Celexa is very close in chemical makeup, but that one didn't work well for me for my anxiety. I know it does for others, with minimal side effects, so it may be a good choice.
Avatar n tn I had to stop taking Mirtazapine last night as the side-effects I was getting from it are apparently rare and will not go away. I have already taken Citalopram, Sertraline and Mirtazapine for my anxiety but didn't get on with them. I have a phone appointment with my GP this evening and would feel better knowing I had an idea what medication might work best for me. I don't want to take Prozac or anything that will make sick/vomit, dizzy or mimic other anxiety symptoms.
Avatar m tn After a failed attempt to fix my anxiety and subsequent depression that has come from it over the last 14 weeks with Lexapro and Paxil, my psych is switching me too Remeron (Mirtazapine) 30mgs. I started my first dose last night and already started my taper down of Paxil CR 50mg to Paxil CR 37.5 and hold there for a week. I also take Clonazepam 1mg at night to help me sleep due to the paxil. And I take Clonazepam .25mg dissolvable tablets during the day as needed for anxiety.
Avatar f tn severe restlessness, panic, dark thoughts, and restless legs, especially at night and in the morning. It was unbearable, so I stopped after almost a week. I tried 7.5 mg of Mirtazapine, which helped me sleep and made me feel calmer, but I slept too long (13 hours on the first night) and was unable to do anything the next day due to fatigue.
Avatar f tn I suffer from chronic cluster headaches. It seemed that with pain management we finally obtained some control over the pain; however, this has taken a turn for the worst in the last 2 weeks. I also suffer from major cyclic depression. Right now my depression is totally out of control. I take Verapmil, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Dilaudid and use a Fentany patch. I'm concerned something in my cocktail has tossed my depression off balance.
Avatar n tn The tetracylics - like mirtazapine - can be very effective. And, if you have anxiety, mirtazapine can work well in addressing this, too. Only your Dr. can determine your schedule with the dosages and med switch... But......I would definitely recommend getting a good psychotherapist to work with. I know that when I worked with one in addition to my AD, I got my very best results.
Avatar f tn //www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-13706-4047/mirtazapine-oral/mirtazapine-oral/details/list-sideeffects That's a huge list but remember that while rare can happen, that if something is listed as rare, it likely won't.
Avatar f tn UGH.........Now that I have weaned myslef off of Lexapro, I am hating the way I feel. All of my anxiety symptoms are back, but since I know what it is now, it is not as debilitating, just uncomfortable. I didn't like the way Lexapro made me feel, but I feel like I should go back on it. I thought I was ready to tackle this on my own, but maybe I wasn't ready, and it was actually the medicine working and making me feel better.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am on Topamax 100 mg for classic migraines, also have a history of basilar artery migraines. I also have a history of visual snow and complex visual aura which I experience at night . The Topamax seems to reduce the complex visual hallucinations but now I see "trails" or palinopsia at night. This seems to be worsening, I just titrated my dose to 100 mg which I take at bedtime. I have to take it at bedtime since it knocks me out - acts like a sleeping pill.
