lexapro

Avatar f tn If you've read my previous comments you'll see my quest to find the SSRI to help my anxiety and depression. I am 3 and a half weeks into taking Lexapro. I am feeling unmotivated to do anything. I wake up and want to go back to bed. All I want to do is sleep any chance I get. This is not like me. Is this a start up side effect or a long term side effect?
Avatar f tn hello I started Lexapro the night before and felt jittery but I slept. This morning I took Xanax and later I had a major panic attack, should I stop taking Lexapro? I have to work and I can't stand it if I have panic attacks while teaching, just seems weird. I read that it's possible to have these within the first few weeks or so but how can I function at work if I'm having major panic attacks?
Avatar n tn I have been on Lexapro for several years and i just stopped taking it for about a month because I couldn't afford to buy it. Then I started it again and its been 4 weeks and all of a sudden I am feeling very depressed and I am not able to eat and worry about everything. Is this happening because I just stopped then started the medication?
Avatar m tn I am also a new user on Lexapro and I can honestly say you need to give it more time... My Dr. gave me ambien for sleep and xanex as needed and that helps alot! I started on 5mg on April 16th and have just upped it to 20mg two days ago!! I still have bad days but for the most part after week 3 I felt so much better!! It did make me tired for about the first 4 weeks or so!!
Avatar f tn Your comments: "Lexapro hasn't been on the market too long, so they're aren't any clinical trials to determine if it has long term effects on the brain." 08.15.2002 - Lexapro(TM), Receives FDA Approval For the Treatment of Major Depression. Do you not consider 6 years "too long?" Moreover, clinical trials on drugs are done BEFORE approval, marketing and distribution. Information Source: Forest Lab Inc. Press Release: 01.24.
533277 tn?1213638714 First Off, Lexapro is bad news. My doctor put me on 40mg per day (which is a bit extreme to say the least). I then self diagnosed being bipolar in which my doctor agreed and put me on "Lamictal" which has been a saving grace. Now finally to my question: I am supposed to come off of Lexapro by dropping 10mg's per week. Has anyone out there just stopped taking Lexapro "cold turkey"? In the attempt to cut out the side effects, My Dr.
687049 tn?1272340093 Hi. I was on Lexapro 10mg and PA took me off to start me on Savella. I have had extreme dizziness and pounding heart and spots in front of my eyes when I stand up. PA says this is from coming off the Lexapro. I have also been nauseous probably 5/7days a week. Did anyone else have nausea and dizziness possibly from the Savella? If you did, can you remember how long it lasted? Any other comments on your experience with Savella would also be appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I posted a question last night and fell asleep. I wanted to read all the comments but I don't know how to get back to it! I figured out how to do it last night for the first time but today I'm so lost and can't remember how I did it. Help please!
689327 tn?1240229164 Good Luck on the Zoloft, thanks for your comments about the Lexapro, I am like a different person now that I am off of it, I can have appropiate emotions and be happy or sad when the situation arises. It was a horrible feeling not being able to cry or acting the same way about good news or bad news its like it didn't matter. Let me know how it goes with the Zoloft, it takes awhile to kick in so be patient.
Avatar n tn I have been on lexapro for almost 3 years with good results. Over the last 2 months, I have been experiencing increased anxiety with panic attacks again. I was trying to wean off slowly but started to take 10 mg daily again for the past 2 weeks. I have been having feelings of going to pass out, sweating, headaches that I wake up with and nervousness. I am afraid to go out to stores again for fear that I will pass out, especially if it is very hot.
1166402 tn?1303847056 Thank you for all your comments. I will go ahead and give Lexapro a try. I know Celexa is cheaper but money is not a problem when it comes to my sanity! I guess I can always go back onto Celexa if Lexapro makes me feel worse...right?
Avatar f tn I take 20mg Lexapro for anxiety and it makes me so tired. Does Lexapro make make anyone else tired and what do you do about it? Its the only med that has worked for me, but all I do is sleep and I have no motivation all.
535882 tn?1396576685 I was so excited that the aderall seem to wake my brain up from the sleep that Lexapro has had my brain in. I want to try to go off the Lexapro. I have so far cut the 20 in half and done 10 mg one day and 20 mg another back and forth... and may go to 10 mg a day ....for a week and then 5mg ...etc... is this a good plan? Has this worked for others? I know it that Lexapro has numbed me from alot of deaths that have occured through the years in my life..
329994 tn?1301663248 I was a Lexapro user as well, for what was first thought to be depression, but later the *40* pound weight gain made matters worse! Not only did I blindly take Lexapro upon my Dr's suggestion, but I didn't bother to do any research on this drug until I was a whopping 40 pounds heavier and even more stressed and in pain. I think it's great for those that it helps, but it's horrible for those that it doesn't.. ya' know?
Avatar f tn my mother (77yrs.of age) has been taking 10mg lexapro for general depression and body aches. Today, the physician said he wanted to give her something that would make her feel more "perky" and changed her script to 150mg Effexor. The instructions are to take 1 pill/day and to stop the lexapro. From my reading it seems that these meds should be weaned.

Avatar n tn I have been taking Lexapro 10mg for almost four weeks for anxiety. Apon a follow up visit, a different doctor than the original, prescribed wellbutrin XL 300mg instead of Lexapro. He stated that Lexapro was not effective for anxiety and he preferred to have me on wellbutrin. After researching, this does not seem logical. I am concerned about taking Wellbutrin especially with such a large dose.
Avatar f tn I just want to say that I am trying to get off Lexapro, read my comments on "Lexapro and memory loss" anyways, I am trying to find a better choice...something that works for me and doesn't damage something else...
11487567 tn?1418754128 t imagine very many people taking three different drugs that all target serotonin receptors at the same time. Celexa and Lexapro are essentially the same drug, with Lexapro being Celexa with some of the molecules cut out. This is weird indeed. I wonder why the Zoloft wasn't tried at a more therapeutic dose instead of layering on the same kind of drugs.
Avatar f tn I have been on 10mg of Lexapro since November. My doctor recenlty made a change and brought me down to 7.5mg due to fatigue and jaw clenching. He also added a small dose on kolonopin .25mg in the evening to assist with the jaw clenching. I was doing o.k until last week when I started to feel very blue and having some crying spells. On Sunday night I then started having a bit of increased anxiety and a couple of small panic attacks.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how you can block a user so you don't have to read their posts? I can't listen to underage people ranting about things they know nothing about any longer.
Avatar f tn People i need help how can i look at my account and my comments i have the app and i always have to look at all the comments and find what i posted to see what people reply to my comment
Avatar f tn t want to be home, especially alone. And needed to be around people or driving. I did evetually get put on lexapro 10 mg and clonazepam. Also around this time I started having heat flashed. I am now 52. I also went and talked to someone about the fears I was feeling. When I feel good, I can't imagine wishing I was dead rather than feeling what I was feeling.
