Lexapro tremors

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro tremors

lexapro

Avatar f tn I take 10 mg of Lexapro and 50 mg of Lamictal every day, for depression and type 2 bipolar disorder. I have hand tremors. Is it possible that one or both medications are causing my hands to tremble?
499178 tn?1210003841 If you have recently significantly decreased the Xanax dose, or recently come off the Lexapro, then the tremors could be from that. Are you taking any other kind of medication? (Only answer if you feel comfy sharing of course). I would give the psychiatrist a call, explain the jittery feeling, and your desire to maybe re-start an SSRI...maybe they can see you sooner, or just advise you to re-start the Lexapro since you still have it. 10 mg is typical starting dose.
409410 tn?1251072712 I have been taking medications for anxiety. I am on Lexapro 20mgs and was just recently put on Pamelor_(Nortriptyline). I have been having tremors when I wake up in the morning, but never really any other time of the day. I didn't have Tremors when I was just on the Lexapro (it works on serotonin). Started having them taking the Pamelor. I also noticed having them when Docs tried giving me Cymbalta and Effexor, which work on both.
Avatar f tn first couple days my legs ached, then it moved to my body, then last night all the sudden my whole spine felt stiff and i had tremors, and i felt very irritable. i cant tell if i have a virus or if it is serotonin syndrome? i am taking lexapro and a take this herb called kratom for anxiety.
Avatar n tn It works great for me with absolutely no side effects. My sister takes lexapro and swears by it but changed to paxil because Lexapro is so expensive and paxil is 4 dollars at walmart. Drink a lot of fluids to keep flushing your system is about all you can do. Sorry I do not have more to offer.
Avatar f tn Still have anxiety and breakthrough panic attacks. He has given me the choice of lexapro or Zoloft. Since Celexa and lexapro are so similar, I'm concerned that the lexapro won't work given that the Celexa stopped working. On the other hand, he has warned me that Zoloft is more activating, which is not good for anxiety and panic. Thoughts? Advice? Similar experiences?
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear you haven't had much luck with the Lexapro yet. I thought your hand tremors weren't being exacerbated by the Lexapro? It seems, overall, the side effects are much less severe than the ones you had on the Zoloft? I would definitely give it more time. Remember, the typical time period is 4-6 weeks. As for the dosage, you could speak to your doctor about SLOWLY increasing your dose to see if that makes a difference.
Avatar f tn im on sub, and i do have anxiety disorder, but my doctor put me on lexapro cause i cant take benzos with the sub. now i just started the lexapro tuesday, and the shakes are getting better, but i dont know if it from the sub, not having the percs, or is it my anxiety. i have no clue. has this happen to anyone else?
Avatar m tn I am still after a week of quitting the40 still having these tremors.. i hope they go away. anyways you were taking such a low dose of lexapro for such a short amount of time (hence i was only on 40mg for a week but it is a much much higher dose) I think you s hould be fine but I would discuss starting new meds with your dr.
535882 tn?1396576685 m trying to help my wife of 42 yrs dr has her on .5 Xanax 3x daily an 10mg lexapro to stop major tremors in morning when waking up. Called the tremors anticipatory anxiety but she is so fatigued she can't hardly move when she does get up AFTER SLEEPING 9 OR 10 HOURS. She has been on lexapo about 3 weeks. On xanax for over 8 weeks now.he rproblem started in Nov and just keeps getting worse. Nausea, shakey, cold jumps out of her skin when the phone rings. Symtoms just keep adding up.
Avatar n tn m going through hell with withdrawals. I weigh 105 lbs, and would like to start taking Lexapro. How many mg should I start with? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn He had never jerked or twitched before the lexapro. EEG and neurologists turned up nothing wrong. The tremors and jerking usually start when he is tired, hungry or cold. Do you think your problem is related to having taken lexapro. Has it gone away?
Avatar f tn s the doctor. The increase made it all worse. These tremors are too much. He seems to think they will go away with time but I don't want to wait too much longer. The reason I'm on it is because my Lexapro pooped out after 10 yrs. I'm currently still on 2.5 mg of that. I want to try Zoloft but he pretty much said no to another SSRI since Lexapro quit on me. My question is, should I expect withdrawals after such a short period of time?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I started taking lexapro 3 weeks ago. lately I have had times when i start shaking, mainly when i wake up and i'm still in bed. I know it says muscle tremors are possible but do i need to call my doctor? I'm concious the whole time so i know it's not a seizure. it feels like really bad cold chills and it only lasts a few seconds but it is happening more often, everytime i wake up. any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Both of these are two of the most difficult meds out there, especially when you want to stop taking them. I'd go with ssris first since snris can be very stimulating, or tricyclics, or just try therapy and see if you can do it that way. I don't think either of these will give you tremors, that's usually the mood disorder drugs, but side effects are peculiar to the individual, they don't necessarily go along with the med. What's easy for one is hard for another.
Avatar f tn You know I had to stop Zoloft due to tremors. I have them on Lexapro, but not as bad. It says on the list of side effects that tremors are a possible side effect. Do you plan to stay on Zoloft?
Avatar m tn Fifty milligrams is a very small dose, so I'm not surprised that you haven't seen a difference yet in your anxiety. I just recently went from Lexapro (20 mg) to 25 mg of Sertraline. I saw a psychiatrist last week, though, and she said that 20 mg of Lexapro is equivalent to 100-150 mg of Sertraline, so I was dosed too low. I would see about gradually upping your dosage. I took 25 mg for two weeks, 50 mg for three weeks, and last week went up to 75 mg. Next week I start on 100 mg.
Avatar f tn hey, your doctor should have prescribed you with a benzodiazipine to go with your lexapro, a side effect of the first week of taking such anti-depressants is increased anxiety that it why doctors usually give you ativan or klonopin to go with it. i hope this helps, go to your doctor tomorrow and ask him about it. get well!

Avatar f tn Hi Paxiled.... thank you for asking. I am 43 right now and started taking the antidepressants at 19. I have only taken ssris and have hardly had any side effects other than sexual of course. The last one I had was on was Celexa and that was for about 6 years. 2 months ago I had this huge trigger and my mind could not stop ruminating and ruminating and ruminating about it.
Avatar m tn Research indicated that Lexapro can cause body shakes or tremors and I weaned off the Lexapro over a 6 week period. After 3 1/2 months of antibiotic treatment my blood levels were normal and the antibiotics were stopped. However the body shakes continued to get progressively worse. I feel there is a short circuit in my nervous system. I've had a CAT scan of my abdomen, chest and brain each showed no negative results.
Avatar m tn My doc. put me on lexapro and it made me feel crazy, didn't help at all and I stopped it, then he tried Paxil and that did the same exact thing, Now I'm on Nortriptyline HCL 25mg, and my question is how long will it take for my depression and anxiety to go away? and at 25mg will it take away my anxiety and depresion, i started off on 10mg, now it's week 3 and I'm on 25mg.
7970489 tn?1395885877 I was on 5 mg of Lexapro for almost 6 months. I stopped taking it because it made my heart flutter a couple times a week, just as the Celexa did.I noticed a week after i was crying alot about minor things, i thought that was it and it would pass. A week after that i went to get a root canal and my panic increased sky high, all day and night. My heart rate was at 100 bpm on and off all day, minor tremors in my legs at night because of nervousness.
Avatar f tn Good Morning, I took one Lexapro this morning and I have a feeling that i really cant put into words. I now have a headache, im tired but at same time im anxious and nervous!!! i have walked down the hall at my job twice, i feel as if im in a cloud, my leg is shaking(nervous) and palms are sweaty! can it be possible to experience side effects so quickly!
Avatar m tn Lexapro is a permanent life long cure for any depression if you can survive the treatment. I was prompted by a marriage counselor to go to my doctor and request drugs for my OCD symptoms (checking, intrusive sad thoughts, previous eating disorders as a teen and heavy drinking-probably perpetuated by my father’s suicide in 1981 while he was on imipramine and numerous other psych med’s) I went to my husband’s pcp who never met me before.
535882 tn?1396576685 does lexapro make nerves hyper/ firing/reactive during first 2 weeks while your adjusting to med
