Hi, I am too experiences horrific effects from coming off 20mg Lexapro. But I can't take all the side effects anymore. I wish I knew what to do to stop the vertigo/dizziness but the only thing I can find on internet (but havent' tried yet) is a motion sickness tablet that contains a vestibular suppressant. Only thing I wanted to mention is that a friend/nutritionist has suggested I take SamE as an alternative to the Lexapro.
Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.

I'm taking Lexapro and it takes the edge off rather well. You have to be sure of what you have because my Lexapro is for OCD and one of my therapist has not fully tested me to see if I actually have a trauma disorder. So go through the proper testing (psychological) before trying too many meds. I ended up with Lexapro after 5 previous that did nothing; I would list them but that may not be appropriate seeing as they may work for you.
Prozac is usually the first of choice as that is the one known to have the least of side effects, but Lexapro does not fall far behind. Websites of course have to lise all the side effects, but I can say from a Registered Nurse and from someone who's been on nearly every antidepressant in the book, the side-effects from most SSRIs are pretty general. You might experience a small amount of weight gain, limited to 2-3 lbs, some dry mouth or dry eyes, constipation, decreased libido.
I never experienced sexual side effects with Lexapro, but I have with other anxiety medications. I didn't like it one bit! So, when I stopped taking those particular meds, I am happy to say that all functions returned to normal :) If you are on Lexapro, there must be a reason (anxiety?) so I wouldn't recommend not being on anything. I'd talk to your doctor and try something else, and if that doesn't work, something else.

Please call your pharmacist or prescribing doctor about this. These drops come with many side effects, some very serious ones and some yet to be determined. Don't take anything like this with your Lexapro without first getting professional advice. I would take the drops or list of ingredients to your local pharmacist, he can tell you if it's safe.
You metabolism might get used to it, but Lexapro may cause these other side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

Reducing the dosage of Lexapro will make the med ineffective as you need a minimum dose for the med to work. So if the side effects are that bad that you can[t take the required dosage then you will want to stop as you are wasting your time taking Lexapro. Of course talk to your doctor about stopping first. Some meds you need to wean yourself off of not just stop. But in this case since you haven't been taking it long you probably won't have to do that. Again consult with your doctor.
s thru the years (at different times for each), and some were a breeze to start, others had some pretty awful side effects. The good news is...those side effects started improving for me usually by the 2nd week, and once they started getting better, they went away pretty quickly.
