Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.

Hi, I am too experiences horrific effects from coming off 20mg Lexapro. But I can't take all the side effects anymore. I wish I knew what to do to stop the vertigo/dizziness but the only thing I can find on internet (but havent' tried yet) is a motion sickness tablet that contains a vestibular suppressant. Only thing I wanted to mention is that a friend/nutritionist has suggested I take SamE as an alternative to the Lexapro.

I never experienced sexual side effects with Lexapro, but I have with other anxiety medications. I didn't like it one bit! So, when I stopped taking those particular meds, I am happy to say that all functions returned to normal :) If you are on Lexapro, there must be a reason (anxiety?) so I wouldn't recommend not being on anything. The only side-effects I had was nausea but after 1 week it was gone. My tolerance to alcohol increased, I was very outgoing in the parties etc. I just think it's a really potent and useful drug in both pain and depression and yeah anxiety. It can be stimulating for some, for me it was but it was not interfering with my anxiety. Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop.

The most common side effect is feeling "jittery", or "keyed up" as you described (like you drank 10 pots of coffee). Also, it's not uncommon to experience an INCREASE in anxiety for a brief time as well.

If all you were taking was the Zoloft for one day and the Xanax, I hardly think you had serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome is usually caused by higher doses of serotonin producing drugs taken along with SSRI's. 5 mgs is a very small dose of Zoloft. Why would your doctor prescribe another SSRI if he believes that to be the problem? Heart palps and nervousness are not uncommon when beginning SSRI's.
