Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro ritalin

lexapro

A while back my ADHD was misdiagnosed as depression and I was prescribed Lexapro 20 mgs. While I was just on the Lexapro my Depression did get better however the other ADHD symptoms were still present. Now that I am on the correct meds for my ADHD the Lexapro withdrawals are so annoying. I have the worse brain sagging headache ALL Day long. I have only gone from 20 mgs to 15mgs for 3 days and its terrible. I almost want to just keep taking the LEX. WHEN WHILL THIS END?
I asked my doctor about adderol, but he said he wasn't comfortable switching my meds and put me on lexapro to handle the side effects.. I wasn't completely honest with the amount I was taking though. And I think my pictures are coming up now? I can see at least one that I posted.
There are no significant interactions between the prescription medications you are taking (Ritalin and Lexapro) and many of the common medications found in the OTC cough&cold products (Dextromethorphan, Diphenhydramine, Guafenisin, Acetaminophen). Important considerations when choosing a product include what symptoms you are experiencing and also the duration of the symptoms – consult with a pharmacist at your local pharmacy for a specific product recommendation.

Now I am in my junior year of college and for the first time am very worried about my Ritalin use. I have gotten into a habit of taking Ritalin everyday. I will not go a day without taking it, even if I do not have homework to do, I will do other assignments early. For the first time I started taking it just to clean my room, or if I didn’t have homework to do. Now I make sure that I take it everyday, even on weekends, and even on vacations.

I am 45 year old male I have been on antidepressants for 17 years. Recently lexapro stopped working. I started cymbalta and it helped. Then it began to wain. I was increased to 120 mg daily and it started to fail. Yesterday my MD added ritalin 5mg. Has anyone tried this?
Hi, I have been taking 10mg of Lexapro for a year and a half and recently decided to taper off due to fatigue and weight gain. I have mentioned cutting back to my doctor, but she seems adamant that I stay on the meds indefinitely. I do not agree with this because I am concerned about the long term effects, which are largely unknown. I am going to discontinue treatment with her due to changes in my insurance policy, so I decided to try to cut back on my own.

What is the effect of the use of Ritalin with Lexapro for Depression? The person is also on Oxicodent for chronic pain. his family reported that when the ritalin was added, he "changed", he reported increased suicidal ideation and ended up slmost killing himself. Could this combination have these dangerous side effects?
He slept 12 hours a day before the stroke. Any advice out there how tough his rehab should be? They have him on lexapro but maybe Ritalin be better from what I read here. How do therapist motivate much older people in rehab? I really just want him to be comfortable and not suffer too long.

I am on Lexapro and was also on Trazedone before I began getting tired during the day. Could the Lexapro be messing with my Ritalin? Or is my anti-depression medication just not working the way it should?
I have ADD and moderate/major depression and was wondering if there are others out there with these problems and if so what medications are you taking that help. Ritalin makes me nuts but adderall worked for me better with a little less side effects. Still stimulants makes my already high anxiety worse but still I do think I need them. Is there some kind of balance with other meds that would allow me to take stimulants without feeling so anxious?
My son is 22 yrs old and he was diagnosed ADHD when he was small and he used to take Ritalin. He no longer takes ritalin. However, Aprox. 4 yrs. ago he was diagnosed with seizure disorder and started taking Depakote. Of course he was inquiring with the neurologist about something that would help him with focusing, concentration, and multitasking since he works and goes to school and sometimes he gets frustrated because I know he gets overwhelmed.
i've taken lexapro for anxiety, and among all the SSRI's i've ever taken, lexapro helped me the most for anxiety. maybe stick it out with the lexapro for a little longer to see if your condition improves.

I have xanax prescribed to me but I honestly think the adderall is making my moods worse but when im not on it I have no motivation. So its a slippery slope I think its just a matter of trying to find the right balance. Im thinking of trying the abilify..... Anyone else have any input on it (abilify)?
My boyfriend Ryan was diagnosed with severe depression, ADD, and social anxiety almost 2 years ago. Since then he's been on wellbutrin, strattera, lexapro, prozac, buspar, & ritalin with no change. He took the depression meds for at least 2 months at a time before changing. For about 9 month's he's been on zoloft (least side effects for him) & now nortriptilene to help intensify the effect. He's been taking the Nortrip since May and there's no change.

For the past three weeks I have been trying Ritalin. While my personality has returned, so has my forgetfulness and inability to stay onh task. Does anyone else identify with these issues? Is there an alternative medication?
Im on 120mg of strattera, 20mg of lexapro and 70mg of ritalin a day. The only drug that helps is ritalin, but thats just because it keeps me awake in class and when I'm doing my HW, but I still can't concentrate at all or make any decisions. I agree with you though, the add and ocd can explain all my problems, but the thyroid could too. I'm just trying to keep my options open. The thyroid disorder is the only disorder that can explain All of my symptoms. Going to talk with my psych.
Taking Ritalin with hep c may not be the safest suggestion...it is addictive and it is a speed so it has heart attack problems associated with it...and so can the hep c treatment... but the real reason i think it shouldn't be used with liver patients is because, it has been shown in mice, to cause hepatoblastomas, (liver tumors and liver cancer) ...and many folks/drs may not know this... but, i'd be real careful about the ritalin because it's been linked to liver cancer in mice...
depression, lethargy, oily skin, excessive sweating, hot flashes --never cold, palpitations, sleeping disorder diagnosed as hypersomnia with unknown etiology; prescribed Xyrem to go to sleep; Ritalin 20 mg LA 1 bid q am to wake up!
For some chemo/ post-chemo patients with fatigue and attention problems, stimulants such as Ritalin (one of the meds used for Attention Deficit Disorder) can make a difference. 4. Exercise can also help some patients feel more alert. I don't know how helpful any of these might be for you, but the reading materials might at least help you feel less alone in struggling with the problem. Best wishes...
I was on Lexapro for 2 years for anxiety (no ADD yet diagnosed) and I felt better, but gained 30 pounds. Now I need to decide what I am comfortable to start taking to deal with the ADD, as it is causing problems at work (no focus, scattered, etc.) Does anyone have any suggestions as to what meds that they were successful with (I know all meds effect people differently, but so I have an idea of whats out there).
I have ADD (no hyper activity). I have been on ritalin and adderall, not at the same time. I was initially on ritalin and was switch to addrall when I began to have problems with irregular heart beat. I don't recall having paranoia or delusions on either medication. Both medications helped with my concentration.
