lexapro

774736 tn?1311331385 HI again. The decision to try a medication for anxiety is an individual one. Some people are willing to try anything, others are on the fence about it, and still others have a really hard time coming to that decision. Treating anxiety and mental health issues is largely based on theory. The way in which SSRI's work on the brain chemistry to help improve depression and anxiety is also partly based on theory as well.
Avatar f tn I am on my 13th week of treatment and feeling moody and depressed. My family phy. just ordered me lexapro. What can you tell me about it, pros/cons. I don't like to be on meds but I don't like being upset/crying all the time. Please give advice.
Avatar f tn re all different and respond to these medications differently, you should ask your doctor if weight gain is an issue with this drug. Plus you need to weigh the pros and cons of how you feel while taking the medication as opposed to how you feel when you don't. Personally I would put up with a few extra pounds to have a decent life then to live in the hell anxiety can cause. Talk to your doctor about this. I know some medications can cause weight gain. Take care...
7677085 tn?1395374075 I need a list of pros and cons of a stretch and sweep/sweeping the membranes. I have an appointment tomorrow and I've been having early labor type contractions for days now. I'd really just like to get things moving. Positive and negative real life experiences would be great as well. I'd really like to make an informed decision. Thanks ladies!
Avatar n tn Pros and cons of not finding out the gender! Or pros and cons of finding out the gender! I'm so torn!
4241272 tn?1357571660 I don't know much about it. My husband says it is important to have our son circumcised. He says it's cleaner and healthier, and that it's safer to do now than when he is older.
Avatar f tn d wait til after the baby is born to know the sex. Has anyone ever done this and maybe know the pros and cons of waiting to know the gender?
1003407 tn?1250296361 I think emotionally i wouldn't be able to handle the natural route, but tryin to prepare myself in the case that it does happen between now and monday. guess i'll have to wait and see what this weekend brings and see the OB on monday afternoon. The waiting game is horrid. Sorry for both of you. . Also; congrats to you both. Wish you lots of luck and good health.. Thanks for the replies, kim..
Avatar f tn I'm very indecisive and wanted to know the pros and cons on breast feeding ? Any help or suggestions ?
Avatar m tn Many people experience the side effect you're experiencing on lexapro or other SSRI's. For something like this you're going to have to look at the pros and cons of the medication you're on and along with your doctor decide what's best for you. Your Dr might be able to prescribe you something else in the same drug family that might suit you better.
Avatar f tn It does take a lot of dedication though! Pros out weigh the cons for sure! I tried with my daughter and was not successful only bc i waited till i left hospital to try so she already got use to the bottle. Def going to start as soon as this baby pops out this time!! Hoping i will be successful!! Pretty excited!!!

460185 tn?1326077772 I noticed Ryan is back - yes, I read the disclaimer and yes I see a dr and talk to a pharmacist about meds and their interactions. My question is what are the pros and cons of Cymbalta? I'm not taking it but have seen it mentioned a number of times.
Avatar f tn it is a personal choice and there are both pros and cons to each avenue of approach in my opinion.
Avatar f tn I've been thinking that I need to be on an anti-depressant. Am currently on Klonopin for general anxiety but feel down a lot and feel I am depressed. Soooooo, I need to decide if I want to go on an anti-depressant but there are so many to choose from. My sister is on a low dose of Lexapro and is doing well with it. My doctor recommended Paxil a while back but we decided I should go on Klonopin instead. And I've read that Paxil causes weight gain.
94902 tn?1330479667 I am now estimated 6 weeks pregnant, and am having to make the decision about wether or not to come off my meds. I am in the process of weighing my pros and cons, but wonder if any other moms have been on any meds while pregnant. I would appreciate any input.
Avatar f tn That was not my question, my question is what the pros and cons are. You don't know my medical issues or complications, so if my OB thinks it's a complication, then it's a complication.
Avatar f tn If you know you can do it without the epidural then I'd suggest you not getting it i had a csection and didnt have a choice now my back bothers me in the spot where they stuck the needle in it feels like a tooth ache and it took them several times and 2 anesthesiology to get it in the right spot which was the worst part of the whole thing
Avatar m tn We tried Ritalin and Concerta and one created a zombie and the other a sleepless child who was very angry all the time. We have been using Stratera for almost two years and we think it's just wonderful. My son his seeing the doc everything 3 months, but that medication does not stop his growth, he is not a zombie, he is still a clown and he loves to tease and joke around. It is one pill a day and we noticed the effects to last for + - 12 hrs.
Avatar n tn I'm currently taking Symlin. Has lots of pros and cons...first, I've lost about 15 pounds and have gone from 110 units of insulin (using a pump) daily to about 70 or 75. Makes you so unbelievably nauseaus you can't eat, so losing weight isn't really a problem. Certain foods still make you so sick you pray for death even after you've adjusted to the medicine. If you don't take it when you eat a meal...for me, it's an immediate BS of 400, no matter what I eat...
