Lexapro nausea how long

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro nausea how long

lexapro

Avatar f tn With paxill it takes about a month to really kick in - I had thought that was how long it took for them all but that could totally be wrong. If you are this depressed already there is just a good chance they are not going to let you do treatment at all. I'd try and get those pills to work - are you taking them with food maybe that would help?
Avatar m tn Could u be more specific about what drugs u used plus alcohol consumption for how long and how much?
Avatar n tn There are different approaches and it will depend on how long you veen taking it, how high your dose and your own body chemistry. Many places suggest cutting back no more than 10% at a time and stabilizing for two or more weeks before cutting back again. If 10% is too much to handle then do less and wait until you're doing pretty well before cutting back again. Be sure to talk it over with your doctor.
Avatar n tn My son wanted to get off antidepressants so the doctor suggested he go on prozac to counteract the wd from effexor.....(75mg) prozacs half life is 5 weeks , while effexors is less than 24 hours...so it's really hard to go off it especially if you have been on it for a while...even if they lower the dose to wean you it's pretty bad....withdrawal is awful. He's never been on Lexapro so I can't tell you if that will do the same thing...ease the withdrawal.
Avatar m tn I recently came off escitalopram (lexapro/cipralex) after being on it a few months, as, similar to every other anti depressant I have tried, it did nothing good for me. I gradually reduced the dose, taking half for about 8 days or so, then half every second day, then none.
Avatar m tn You could have nausea and a headache for a few days. That was my experience with Lexapro when I first started taking it.
Avatar f tn i haven't experienced the nausea or passing out or stomach problems... wonder if any other fatigue people here can identify with these? you might have fatigue AS WELL AS something else. hope your dr can run some tests.
2102085 tn?1350866645 She put me on a plan where i decrease my Lexapro and slowly add Paxil. I am currently on only 5mg of Lexapro. My nausea has decreased but still miserable and now it is mixed with Lexapro withdrawl symptoms, which as you may know, is a nightmare. I am seriously considering not starting the Paxil and just getting off SSRIs all together. At least for a while if not for good. I just cannot handle this medication roller coaster! Any thoughts or experiences? Please advise! What should I do?
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Lexapro 10 mg back in September for GAD. I took 5 mg till Christmas time. I was off of it for about a month and got back on. I developed a weird rash and decided it wasnt for me. I have been off of it for about a week now and I am feeling horrible. I have nausea, headaches, dizziness, blurry vision, weird hot flashes, skin burning and itching and backache. Has anyone experienced any of these when stopping Lexapro?
Avatar n tn I am in week 3 of withdraw from Lexapro after an very long gradual withdraw. I have had bad nausea, head aches most of the duration and recently dry/aching eyes. I have a stressful job and it is very hard to make it through the day. I am handling the stress alright, I just can't handle the bad nausea, head aches, and now dry/aching eyes. The dry/aching eyes make it difficult to read and drive. I am living on Tylenol and Pepto-bismol. Is this normal?
869879 tn?1239660309 Has anyone ever taken Lexapro and Abilify together? I've been on 10mg Lexapro (for chronic dysthymia) for about 2 years now. I've always had positive reactions to Lexapro: great sex drive, great mood, slept okay (I do take Lunesta for sleep). However, lately (for the past 4 months I'd say), my depression has worsened for no real reason. I've found myself a lot more tired when I wake up (I sleep 9-10 hours a night), don't want to be with anyone, no energy, no sex drive.
709686 tn?1277432159 Actually, we are all that different. So none of us can tell you how it's going to affect you. However, the side effects of Lexapro tend to be fewer than other ssris, at least by reputation and hype. I've had side effects from it, but they're not as bad as from other meds; on the other hand, it hasn't done what I'd hoped, either. The really bad things you read about these meds is from those who have trouble stopping them.
Avatar m tn Starting lexapro 5mg,more anxious, sick stomach. How long to improve if it does?
358304 tn?1409709492 When you say you've been weaning off the Lexapro "kinda fast," exactly how fast are we talking here? And how much were you taking? And did you doc or therapist recommend you stop, and if so, why? And if you decided to stop on your own, why? And were you prescribed this med for depression or GAD? (or both?) Lexapro does NOT carry the same warning regarding stopping abruptly as many of the other anti-anxiety meds, but it can't hurt to taper off this med.
Avatar f tn The same thing happened to me with lexapro. I took one dose and got the worst panic attack that I've experienced in a long time. I got rid of them after that one dose. I had to take 2 xanax when I took the lexapro just to kind of calm myself down. I agree..I'd rather get my through the anxiety than take that stuff again.
358304 tn?1409709492 Yes. I had horrible stomach problems the first few days that I came off of Lexapro. All three of the symptoms that you were describing are very normal. Those symptoms only lasted probably around 4 to 5 days for me. I was only on Lexapro for 6 weeks though, so the symptoms could last longer if you were on it for a longer period of time. If it does not seem to improve in a week or so, then I would contact your doctor. Something else could be going on. Stay strong.
Avatar f tn 5 mg twice a day for the past 3 years for an anxiety disorder .How long does Lexapro usually take to work? Do you actually feel happier and want to get out of bed and do things? I asked if there will be any serious side effects and he told me "No". I read a few reviews and some people experienced weight gain.
91034 tn?1401416303 Doc prescribed me lexapro but of course I have to much anxiety to take it,lol. He rattled of all these "potential" side affects and now I'm pretty sure I will have all of them. I know medicine reacts differently in everyone. But any advice to calm me down so I can actually take the meds.
