Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro kidney damage

lexapro

Avatar f tn From the posts I read it seems that many were taking above the max dose 4000 mg of acetaminfen daily. Irreversable liver/kidney damage has always been a big concern to me which is why I never exceed the 4000 mg a day. I just had blood drawn yesterday & will nervously await the results. If they tell me my enzymes are higher it will be easier to quit. I think. Have any of you had any damage to liver/kidney damage as a result of your vicodin use?
Avatar m tn Such phenomenon is usually seen in case kidney damage as evident by diabetes and albuminuria. Hence, you need to undergo kidney function test. Also appropriate change in prescription or night time introduction of anti hypertensive may be needed against prescription. I suggest you to consult physician for further evaluation. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Hello Ursamere. As you probably know, we're not physicians here, but are happy to share our experiences with you so you can explore the ideas further with your diabetes team. I'm also a long-time DMer - about 35 years. 5.6 is an excellent a1c and as one who's not (yet) achieved an a1c under 6, I admire the work & discipline it takes to achieve that.
757137 tn?1347196453 As Dr. Gould always answered this question the mental health expert forum, nobody knows whether these meds can cause long-term damage. Nobody's done the studies. If you good protracted withdrawal syndrome, you'll come across a British psychiatrist who has done probably the most work on benzos. According to her, benzos at the least cause the brain to lose its ability to learn to adapt to stress.

Avatar f tn The only way to truly ease your mind is by being totally honest with him/her. I have liver damage and kidney damage due to drugs stage 2 liver stage 3 kidney.. if your liver were damaged and you had a flare your belly would be extended/pain upper right you would be lethargic/vomiting.. other symptoms but these being severe.. It is not fun and I would not wish it on anyone.. I contracted hep C from slamming and further continued the damage through pills/alcohol..
Avatar f tn I'm a pain patient. I broke my neck some years ago so sustained nerve damage although I am still mobile. I have been on Fentenyl, Oxycontin and now Methadone. I am taking myself off Methadone, with my doctor's knowledge and have been told that my lexapro is a dangerous mix with methadone as well. I stopped titrating down off methadone and now am at 30mgs per day but I am now titrating down my lexapro dose. I'm finding that both drugs are hell to detox from!
12714324 tn?1426848387 My dr is trying me on all sorts of meds for my depression/anxiety. He didn't want me on 40mg of lexapro for the concern of my liver but he prescribes effexor and xanax. Don't he know that I could get liver damage with over the counter med. I have been on effexor for two days now I can't sleep. I'm up at 330am est trying to figure out what is going on. I want to get back on my lexapro because for six years on 40mg I was happy go lucky.
Avatar n tn [1] Stage 2 Mild reduction in GFR (60-89 mL/min/1.73 m2) with kidney damage. Kidney damage is defined as pathologic abnormalities or markers of damage, including abnormalities in blood or urine test or imaging studies.[1] Stage 3 Moderate reduction in GFR (30-59 mL/min/1.73 m2).[1] British guidelines distinguish between stage 3A (GFR 45-59) and stage 3B (GFR 30-44) for purposes of screening and referral.
Avatar f tn See your gynecologist again or go to your regular physician where s/he will probably direct you to someone who specializes in things like nerve damage. Definitely do something about the kidney infection. Are you getting treated for it? If not, start getting treated for it immediately.

Avatar m tn While i may have bloating, tummy pains and rumbling of gas moving in my intestines etc, i have also been diagnosed with high protein in the urine, doctors say is caused by damage to the kidney, letting more albumin out than usual. They attribute this damage to the high blood pressure i am suffering. My question is: could the increased gas pressure from aerophagia enter the kidney and cause this physical internal damage, and/or augment the increased BP.
Avatar n tn I am on several medications - Lexapro, Aciphex, and Domperidone). Could these have anything to do with it? Please respond.
Avatar m tn I could not tolerate any of the SSRI's except for Remeron - mirtazapine....it's different from the SSRI group, but unfortunately, I can't tell you how. (I hope someone else will post why - like Ryan). I became unbelievably agitated on all of the SSRI's.. Once I got past the sedating effects of Remeron as you slowly titrate upwards - I take 30 mg. - it's the only AD that doesn't agitate me.
Avatar f tn Still have anxiety and breakthrough panic attacks. He has given me the choice of lexapro or Zoloft. Since Celexa and lexapro are so similar, I'm concerned that the lexapro won't work given that the Celexa stopped working. On the other hand, he has warned me that Zoloft is more activating, which is not good for anxiety and panic. Thoughts? Advice? Similar experiences?
Avatar m tn If the ureter is not completely blocked the risk for kidney damage is small, and you might even expel it naturally.
Avatar f tn So I know it's normal to gain some water weight during that time of the month -- however, I've been retaining a lot of fluid for over a week now. I can't even come close to getting any of my pants on and my socks are making dents in my ankles. My period has been really light and seems to have ended today after 5-6 days. Actually, I've been spotting a bit since the first of the month. The last couple days I've weighed 6-7 pounds more than normal.
Avatar f tn I've been on Viread a few months with good results so far. Before meds and at 2 month mark my kidney level was unchanged (gfr and creatine good). I know Viread has that risk long term of kidney damage, which worries me since most will need it longterm or life, as of what's available now. I have read taking baking soda is good for kidneys. Should I start this, or only of I see changes in labs?
Avatar f tn There are many different types of drugs out there to help, may i suggest lexapro, lexapro is an antidepressant used for treating depression and anxiety. talk to your doctor about lexapro. if your health professional prescribed you xanax for longer than a few months then i suggest you look for another GP. sorry to be so upfront but i know the dangers of this drug.
