lexapro

1302779 tn?1287405029 hey all just wanted to hear some experience about "jaw clenching" with taking lexapro. Been on it for a month at 15mg and the only real side affect im having is jaw clenching. was wondering if this will be less with time?
Avatar n tn The reason for the change was because of severe side effects. Dizziness, tremors, jaw pain, loud ringing in ears, nausea were the main issues. Now being off the med for 13 days, and have been off of work since Feb. 3rd, I continue to have problems. I cannot drive or even ride in a vehicle without getting severe dizziness. This also happens when watching TV when fast movements cross the screen.
Avatar n tn Symptoms started a year ago, feels like my bite is focused on right side everytime I eat or drink, difficulty swallowing, pain in back right side of my throat connecting to my jaw, also pain on right side of Adam’s apple. Right eye twitches when swallowing or sneezing. I’ve seen 2 ENTs, 3 physical therapists, 4 different primary care doctors, my dentist, had CT scan, MRI, X ray of jaw, and a swallowing test. Nothing showing nothing helping.

Avatar f tn Then I read on this site recently that Lexapro was causing jaw clenching. So there you have it. These are just weird stuff, these meds.
Avatar f tn Does it go away after my body adjust to the medicne. I also get body twitches while i start to fall asleep from the lexapro. The lexapro seems to be helping but I can't stand biting my tongue and clenching my teeth every night. I have an over the counter mouth guard. It is uncomfortable to sleep with but it helps.
Avatar f tn Interesting jaw clenching from Lexapro, I am also on Lexapro. I thought I clenched my jaw because I was stressed and anxious. Perhaps I am dealing with a little of both, the ENT Dr. told me I has tinnitus, but that there is nothing I can do about it, there are some herbal supplements that I can take I guess. Thank You for your reply!
Avatar f tn And about the jaw clenching -- I was put on Lexapro a couple of years ago and have had this weird ear fullness that started some months ago. I finally saw an ENT, who said it was from jaw clenching. Is this from the Lexapro?
Avatar n tn Has anyone else experienced a low heart rate while on lexapro. Took imipramine on/off for 20+ years with the only side effect being heartrate in the 90's - then blood pressure started to go up a little. Went off imipramine and doctor put me on lexapro - now have gained a little weight, am tired, clenching jaw at night, blood pressure back down, but pulse is constantly in the 50's which is freaking me out a little. Have been on lexapro for 6 months now - libido gone also....
17020225 tn?1455749597 I woke up two weeks after starting escitalopram and felt like I had been beaten in the jaw with a bat. Many hundreds of dollars later, MRI, pain meds, muscle relaxers, and arthrocentisis on both sides, I am now off escitalopram. I will never use it again. I was way more suicidal with chronic TMD than with regular old mood disorder!
358304 tn?1409709492 Well, just about a week ago or more, one day I yawned and I got a sharp pain on the sides of my head. Hurt like hell, but for only a second... as I closed my mouth after yawning... It has seemed to gotten better.... but now, it's only on my left side of my face/jaw. When I move my jaw from side to side it hurts near my ear. Almost as if felt like an ear infection... but I've never had an ear infection so I couldnt tell you what one really feels like. lol.
Avatar n tn I also take welbutrin and lexapro for anxiety and depression. I take metoporol and isosorbide for chest pain associated with myocardial bridge. Wed. I started getting discomfort in my chest and it got worse, so i started to drive myself to the hospital because it was radiating to my jaw , i got about 5 min. out and the pain was getting intense. i felt lightheaded, short of breath and like i had something in my chest expanding.
Avatar m tn By cardiac pain I am referring to left sided chest pain, left arm pain, left neck, jaw, back pain. No other pains anywhere else in body.
Avatar n tn No jaw pain...but I do see a tiny black floating speck in my right eye that showed up around the same time as the other symptoms. I'm only 27 and I feel like I'm falling apart. My husband says he thinks the dizziness is from Lexapro withdrawls. So I'm going to google that right now. I've been suffering headaches everyday for about a year now.
1325193 tn?1450127436 I wonder if it is from the buspar increase? Plus I switched back to regular Lexapro today. I dont know if thats it either. I really feel like I am getting worse. My doc told me I could go and see a phycistirst. Thats not the problem. My jaw hurts and so does my throat. He did a full exam, and everything is ok. What is going on???
358304 tn?1409709492 So I've been having major anxiety about a neck ache and jaw pain when I yawn or chew on my left hand side of my mouth... I keep talking to my family and friends and wife about it... and my aunt said i need my widsom teeth probably takin out.. etc.... so i was getting that set up... and my wife stopped me... and said.. "honey... you need to get your anxiety under control before you start getting oral surgery on wisdom teeth that arent even impacted...
Avatar m tn the pains that i experience in my left side of chest, between left nipple and center of chest, left arm, left jaw, left hand, all seems to be the same type of pain, I cannot reproduce the pain or any pain by pressing on the area, 4.so what could this indicate? 5. does that sound cardiac to you?
Avatar n tn I was on Lexapro for about two or three years for mild panic attacks. It never helped, but it made me feel hyper and emotionally numb. Recently under a psychiatrist's supervision, I tapered off Lexapro from 20mg to 5mg over about eight weeks. He put me on 250mg Depakote to "balance" my moods "just in case"......I felt fine and stable the whole time.
1166402 tn?1303847056 Could also be my cervical discs. A lot of reasons for pain. I found out about the Lexapro and Celexa when I kept feeling like my ears were full. Went to the ENT, and he said it was most likely jaw clenching, looked up the meds on some sites and there it was, a common side effect. With imipramine and Paxil, the magnesium worked, but it hasn't with Lexapro and Celexa, assuming they're the cause.
Avatar n tn I have had deep tissue massage and traction which sometimes helps but never fully takes away the constant pain/weakness/numbness. I am waiting for an MRI appointment and have been reffered to a pain clinic. A prescription I just got was for Lyrica which is specificly for nerve pain. I hope something sounds familiar to you and it helps or you will at least have some new things to talk to you're Dr.
Avatar n tn 25 mg, I would stay on the dose for 1 to 2 weeks and then cut the dose in half for another week or two before going off of it. I have experienced headaches and jaw pain while withdrawing from xanex. Don't know if it's O.K. to take xanex if you are pregnant. If I were you, I would get off the xanex before getting pregnant.
20790871 tn?1507161421 I am a healthy 20 year old female. I am a former collegiate long-distance runner; I stopped running competitively a few months ago, but still run and workout regularly. I noticed that shortly after I started college (2 years ago), my hair stopped growing completely. It used to be long and thick, but over the past couple years it has become very thin and damaged and simply doesn't grow. In addition to this, I have also been getting acne on my jaw and neck-which I didn't use to get.

Avatar n tn I have recently been going through all the same sort of symptoms as you have listed, including the jaw pain. I think it is hormone related as I have heard of other people going through it too. I am currently getting tested and may be referred to an endocrinologist shortly to find out if my symptoms are due to early menopause. So if I find out anymore about it, I will let you know.
