Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro in urine

lexapro

Avatar m tn Do any of you who are taking Lexapro notice a strange smell associated with your urine? Mine has an almost garlicy smell even when I have not had garlic.
Avatar f tn http://www.drugs.com/lexapro.html) Are there other signs or symptoms present? Together, frequent and urgent urination are classic signs of a urinary tract infection. Diabetes, pregnancy, and prostate problems are other common causes of these symptoms. Other causes include: Interstitial cystitis, diuretics, overactive bladder syndrome, or urinary incontinence. It may help to avoid drinking too much before bedtime, especially caffeine or alcohol.
Avatar n tn If there is persistent change in colour of urine, then it could be due to infection, hepatitis, biliary tract obstruction, haemolytic anemia , dehydration etc. Drugs that you mentioned do not have effect on the colour of urine. Consult a urologist to rule out the above mentioned causes for dark urine only if it is persistent. You can encourage your child to take more water and see if symptoms are gone. Best.
Avatar m tn The B-vitamins are water-soluble (dissolvable in water) and are easily removed from the body in urine. They are generally considered safe, with little to no side-effects. Omega 3s will help with headaches or other side effects from Lexapro too. Best wishes!
Avatar f tn m wondering if my doctor could prescribe something to help with my overactive bladder so I could keep taking the Lexapro or if I should just take something else instead. Lexapro is good in ways because it produces fewer side effects than any other SSRI med that I've tried and I've tried many of them.
Avatar m tn My doctor is switching me from Effexor to Lexapro. I was on 150 mg of effexor for 2-3 years and recently have been tapering off down to 50 mg. My doctor says I should start Lexapro now but I am scared to take it while taking Effexor but Effexor withdrawals are bothering me even though I am slowly tapering off. Is it safe to take SNRI (effexor) with SSRI (lexapro)? Anyone took it together?

Avatar f tn I have to go to the bathroom all the time. Like 20 times a day. I just had a urine culture done and it came back fine. What could this be? I take an antidepressent medicine and no other medicines. Would a doctor please answer my question only?
Avatar f tn lexapro, and zoloft are very strong and affect the chemicals in your brain, anytime I have ever forgotten to take one of those (I was started on Zoloft in high school and am now on Lexapro) I get dizzy, its difficult to concentrate and when I went off of Zoloft for something else I went through extreme withdrawl for months untiil i decided to go back on it.
Avatar f tn I HAVE BEEN ON KLOPIN FOR OVER 5YRS AND MY URINE TEST ARE SHOWING I AM NOT TAKING IT AND I DO I AM ON LYRICA TRYLIPIX ACIPHEXZ LEXAPRO AND BREATHING MEDS. AS WELL SHE WANTS TO NO LONGER PRESCRIBE ME KLOPIN AND I AM FREAKIN OUT WHAT DO I DO?
Avatar n tn Anxiety can manifest itself in many different ways and can be VERY confusing in my opinion. If it isn't one thing, it is another that can bother us. I found it quite common to become nervous about something that I used to feel comfortable with and vice versa when I was experiencing this. Have you gone back to your doctor to discuss your side effects with Lexapro? I was the same way with a particular SSRI and I switched which worked out much better for me.
Avatar n tn This has been bothering me for a few months and I am not sure if its nothing or something. Whenever I get tired or say in a meeting and start to feel sleep, I get a jolt that goes through my mid right arm to the finger next to my thumb. I also sometimes get it in my left foot and lower leg. The finger moves slightly. I know that it means I'm tired because I do get it sometimes when I fall asleep. I was reading other posts and I have been on antidepressants for about six years?
Avatar f tn I would get a second opinion from an ear/nose/throat specialist. Stopping the Xanax quickly is dangerous, like the Dr said in his post. Plus, Lexapro will not help your balance issue. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I just realized that Cipralex and Lexapro are the same meds. I used to take Lexapro so I know exactly what your talking about. Yes, I do really think it's your meds causing the dizziness. I had it really bad when I was taking this med. I hated the dizzy rush feeling when I was drifting off to sleep. Do let your Dr know about what's going on though.
Avatar f tn Hi ! I’m a 35 year old female mother of 1 :-) I just started taking Lexapro AGAIN :-/ after trying to stop for a few months (bad I think I can stop) anyways I started it 8 days ago. On the 2nd day I broke out into a sweat and felt like I had to use the restroom I got off the couch went half way across the floor and I got the tunnel vision grey out almost passing out feeling.
Avatar f tn s so sad to think a child would have to deal with such a thing. I now take Lexapro and feel alot better. Not 100% but I guess as good as it's gonna get for me. I recently noticed alot of anxiety signs in my 9 year old daughter. It's apparently something you can pass on to your children. (Can't even tell you how much it rips my heart out to know I gave this to my child) But it has affected her at school so her doctor prescribed Prozac.
1302779 tn?1287405029 I started lexapro 2 weeks ago 5 mg the first week and now on 10 mg. i also take klonopin 05 mg in the am and the script says 2 05 mg at night but i dont take the klonopin at night cause i dont feel i need it.
Avatar n tn The frequency and urgency have gone, as well as the increased thirst and dry mouth, but I am still stuck with painful urination. The urine now appears foamy as well. The pain is a burning when urinating, and then I get a lingering pain down what feels like the whole urethral tube. Another note is that it seems like no matter how much water I drink, the urine is always yellow (it used to almost always be clear).
Avatar f tn I have tried Prilosec reglan Zantac Zyrtec At one point was out back on Paxil then tried Lexapro. This began again 2 weeks ago and I have lost 16 lbs with no appetite and inability to eat a whole meal. I go to bed fearing that the cycle will return again every morning and sure enough it does. I have considered going back on Lexapro or paxil so I can maybe eliminate the anxiety It feels like I have awful epigastric pain that awakens me with the trembling usually around 3am.
Avatar f tn I have severe chronic back pain. I've had chronic back pain from an abusive relationship 13 years ago and two car accidents. I'm on Long Term Disability from work. I've had a total of 13 different injection procedures that last maybe for 3 months along with back pills. My Pain Management center changed my medication about 3 months ago at my request because my body became immune to the meds. and needed something else. They removed my morphine but increased the Oxycodone.
Avatar n tn Well im also taking it to counter side effects of Lexapro so the other thing could be is that I am starting to adapt to the lexapro and don't need it as often... who knows but yeah so far thats how it has been working for me.. so if it ain't broke don't fix it I guess right?
Avatar f tn Okay, now I'm really confused. You started taking Lexapro, a drug in a class known to cause nerve and muscle problems, because you had possible nerve or muscle problems? That drug is for depression and/or anxiety, but not muscle twitches. So have you been diagnosed with anxiety or depression? Did you see an orthopedic surgeon or neurologist to get checked out and were told it was in your head and so they put you on Lex?
Avatar f tn i cut my 10mg Lexapro in half to make 5mg. So I wouldnt see the problem. But just call your Dr. or pharmasist. They will let you know for sure. Also, you can always call Walgreens. lol. They are open 24/7, and you can ask their pharmacist any question you may have about medications.
