358304 tn?1409709492 26 Male. I started suffering from anxiety 2 years ago, My most common symptom was nervous stomach, no appetite, pacing, mind racing with thoughts like "when am i gonna get better? when will this stop?" I would also lose sleep. Had nightsweats. Etc. The Dr. put me on Lexapro and it worked for a while... then I went off of it, and did good for 6 months without it, then I started getting it again...
140029 tn?1393298142 I take 15mg Lexapro for my anxiety, was diagnosed with PI IBS in November. It helps me out some, definitely helps keep me calmer during flare ups. I think going gluten free has helped me out the most though. I think you just gotta find the right medication/diet that works for you though, which just comes down to trail and error on what foods you eat. I think finding something to help with your anxiety is a good idea though, because like everyone has said, anxiety and ibs go hand in hand.
358304 tn?1409709492 So after going to the Dr. today, he switched me from 5mg Lexapro to Paxil. He gave me 20mg pills, but said to cut them in half at first for the first month. My symptoms have been, IBS symptoms, nervousness, nausea, and tight throat... to where I wanna gag and feels like I cant breath correctly... restlessness at night, and big loss of appetite. Will Paxil help you think? I don't really care to hear about any horror stories. haha. I just wanna hear some good experiences.
Avatar f tn It got me so sick that my anxiety leveled increased ten fold. I had really bad acid reflux, bowl issues, etc. GI said IBS, needed more fiber, stress, etc. Was on 10mg lexapro and 40mg protonix. Lost a ton of weight when this happened. Went to GI doctor they ended up doing endoscopy and found polyp on gallbladder. Underwent ultrasounds for awhile to see if polyp was growing. Finally had it removed in 2008 after HIDA scan. Ended up gaining all weight back and more.

Avatar m tn I was on Prozac for 7 years and was switched to Lexapro by my doc about 2 months ago for IBS and depression. I stopped taking it almost 3 weeks ago and am having some withdrawl issues...brain zaps (although a little better today), dizzy feelings, etc... Has anyone successfully gone through this? How long till withdrawl issues improved?
3166043 tn?1514260018 So I recently started using [Dalacin T - topical treatment](http://www.drugs.com/uk/dalacin-t-1-topical-solution-leaflet.html) again for my acne now that I have drug coverage. (Previously used it 2009-2012 after a severe ance breakout) I have severe health anxiety and I remember that diarrhea is a side effect from using it so when I had a loose stool last night and just a hour ago i'm pretty sure I have C-diff. I have severe health anxiety.
10962624 tn?1421804372 Thanks guys. Yesterday I went back to the Doc and went over all my tests (blood, stool) and she found nothing of concern. I told her about my constant anxiety and she prescribed me short term 10MG Buspar meant to be taken twice daily. She only prescribed it to me after I pushed the subject. She believes I do not have IBS because she said "IBS normally isn't trigger from one sole event.
358304 tn?1409709492 26 male. About three months ago I started having an anxiety spell. My main symptom was a nervous stomach and no appetite. About a few weeks after this I started getting diarhea and digestion issues. My dr said it's probably just IBS. So about a week after that I started getting a tight throat and a very sensitive gag reflex. Some days I couldn't barely talk without the urge to gag. Well after one night of actually gagging twice I couldn't handle it so I went back to the dr.
535882 tn?1396576685 there is gonna be a snow ball affect..this attack is gonna be layered with all kinds of problems...fear/paranoia, IBS, mood swings, etc. Work out or something, spend that energy doing what you like to do. One of the most important thing we should remember is to never stop being us...If you like sports, then don't allow depression and anger to stop you...do you and never forfeit your humor.
1258539 tn?1293840202 I have depression and severe anxiety. I am taking lexapro 15 mg a day. Up to 4mg of Xanax on most days. I have NO appetite and I have been under a lot of stress too. My Thyroxine (T4) is at 8.5, T3 Uptake is 31, Free Thyroxine Index is 2.6 and my TSH is at 0.994. I have IBS and a Hiatal hyrneia. I have insomnia, no energy, frequent lose bowel movements, have lost 37lbs since July. I am thinking I would have been treated for hyper not hypo.
Avatar m tn I have had irregular IBS symptoms that change from year to year (for the past 6 years). The last 2 months its like this. Colonoscopys negative. I do have a redunant colon which dr says would cause constipation if anything. Nulev does not help. My regular dr gave me a prescription for Lexapro because she sees how upset I am about my social situation. My husband suffers sitting home on weekend because Im afraid to go out. I have had an accident before in a public place...Im too young for this.
Avatar n tn I understand that when a person such as my self and others suffers from UC or even IBS, changing eatting styles is offten good. but my question is, has anyone changed what you ate and started exercising found it to be effective. because if you have I would really like to have someone help me out by being my motivation. not so much as for the changing what I eat but really to help me stay motivated with excercise.
2644165 tn?1387244348 My GI doc tried to have me take Linzess for 3 months but the side effects only exacerbated how I felt. I am also on Armour Thyroid, an antidepressant Lexapro and Ativan, and I also take a multivitamin, vitamin b12, and Vitamin D because I have had reoccurring leukopenia and anemia in my CBC blood tests. I recently had the Prometheus blood tests done to assess for IBD and Celiac, but I am still waiting on results... I often have these flare ups at odd times, sometimes after meals.
1325193 tn?1450127436 I have been on lexapro for almost 10 years and it has worked great at 10 mg dose. No, problems at all. About a year ago I started having ibs so I started taking loperamide immodiun,ad. I was at one time, taking up to 40,per day. I read how addicting they can be so,i have tapered down to 20 a day. Not a big problem there. Everything was fine, but the last 3 weeks i started drinking a lot of energy drinks. It's been a week since I have not been on them.
Avatar n tn heart burn, chest pains, pulse skipping fast or slow, insomnia, bowel problems IBS, trouble swallowing or lump in the throat, weezing, bloating, and etc.
Avatar n tn I still have intermittent IBS-D like symptoms including mild bloating and mucous in stool that seems to be somewhat controlled with Florastor. I take 10mg Lexapro for anxiety, 50mg Vyvanse for ADHD and 0.5mg clonazepam PRN. Interestingly, about 20 years ago, I acquired a nasty bug about a week after moving into my freshman dormitory. I suffered from a high fever, severe diarrhea and appeared jaundiced.
Avatar f tn I've had stomach pains for one year now and they don't seem to be getting any better. I've had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, multiple x-rays and ct scans, blood tests, stool tests, allergy tests, breath tests, stomach emptying test, ultrasound, and one where i can't remember the name of it but i drank white chalky liquid and they watched my stomach and how the liquid passed through it to look for abdominal artery constriction and nothing was found on any of these tests.
Avatar n tn Right now im currently taking Lexapro which was prescribed by my normal doctor for panic attacks/anxiety.
589229 tn?1218767731 I have been taking Lexapro for it ever since and i guess it works (i say i guess because sometimes i wonder if my body became used to it and no longer works or just in my head). I still sometimes have panic attacks but i would say like once or twice a month. Anyway in November of last year (2011) i started taking a new birth control bill that is part of a research study, (hey, its free!
