lexapro high

I was put on Lexapro about 6 months ago for anxiety. After being on lexapro, I started having problems with high blood pressure. Like usually 150/100 or so. It was so weird to me that all of a sudden for 6 months I was having high blood pressure when I never ever before had any issues with it. Then it started giving me anxiety that my bp was so high. Is this a side effect of Lexapro? Will it go down after stopping? Should I get on a bp medicine?

I have had anxiety when I was young, and I had two surgeries on my knee that increased the anxiety. Now, I recently relocated for school, and am experiencing high anxiety. I have nausea, muscle twitching (especially when trying to fall asleep), tension in my head, and insomnia. I saw my doctor and he gave me Lexapro, but now two days later, the symptoms are worse. I have a phobia of doctors, so when I saw him on Monday I was under a lot of stress.

i too suffer from a genetic anxiety and depression disorder and never spoken of it to anyone personally and i refuse to and refuse to be put on meds because they can be harmful and can make you into a vegetable on the long run. Meds are helpful but they are not natural you know. They are chemicals, toxic chemicals. This is why I think medicinal marijuana can help big time. Get high and learn to use the high so you can self medicate your mind.

lol I am a very high strung person suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Lexapro has saved my life and my relationships. I also have BPD and this medication has strongly aleviated my symptoms! I am now on 15mg of Lexapro and think this is the perfect dose for me. I wish you the best!

In 2006 I had a hysterectomy and my TSH was 0.8. I started on Lexapro a few months later. In 2007, while on Lexapro, my TSH was 1.76. In June 2008, my TSH was 2.56 and my doctor told me that if the level reaches 3.0, he would like to start me on therapy. Not only have I had a hysterectomy, been taking Lexapro, and Spirnolactone (for acne), I have gained 13 pounds. I am still 5'9 weighing 135, but I have never gained weight.

My mind moves so quick that its really hard for me to focus at times and my creativity does not help the situation (non-rational thoughts) I would rather sleep well then be insomiac though, strange that Lexapro would be hurting your chest and causing high blood pressure, how many MG were you up to? I have been taking Lexapro for years. It def kept the depression away, but I was very "lax" about everything. Still better than the "angry" me. My doctor switched me over to Cymbalta a month ago and I"m not liking the feeling. I take it in the morning but by 5ish, I'm shaky ... I am having thought and feelings I havent had in many years and I want to switch back to the Lexapro. I also take 1mg of Clanozapam in the morning.

t necessarily Lexapro to work just like Celexa. Though they share the same basic chemical structure, Lexapro has been altered, and many people do react to them differently.

Equivalencies are generalizations, and you are an individual. Besides, Pristiq is a different class of drug than Lexapro. Lexapro is an ssri while Pristiq is an snri. And if it were me, which it isn't, I'd start at a low dosage and work my way up on any medication so I could see how bad the side effects were and the lowest dosage at which it works is.

As far as i know , the rining in your ears are coming from starting the new medication from too high dose .Just contact your doctor, i bet he will put you on lower dose of lexapro and the ringing might stop. best regards, kate.

I have been on lexapro for about 5 weeks. My blood pressure is increasing. It's running 130's over 90's. Doctor wants to put me on water pill. i don't want to take something else because antidepressant causing bp to rise that's crazy. Is there any antidepressants that help with anxiety that do not cause blood pressure to rise?

Snris such as Effexor have a much greater connection with liver problems than Lexapro, as far as I'm aware. I agree, 40mg of Lexapro is high, but I haven't heard of any significant liver issues with ssris but when Cymbalta, an snri, applied to FDA for approval for pain control they discovered a lot of liver issues. You might bring this up with your doc.

I am currently getting high every other day on Sudafed, Adderal and Lexapro. I have built up such a tolerance for this that sometimes I take a box and one half of sudafed 12hr. (120mgs) That is 30 pills, plus the adderal XR(30mg) and Lexapro (20mgs). Last night I felt nothing. I want to clean myself up...how long will this stuff take to get out of my system???

Lexapro triggered mania in me, and the withdrawal from it was awful... ugh, I shudder to remember it. I was forced to stop it cold turkey while hospitalized, and it was so uncomfortable that I pushed hard to be discharged so I could go home and take my leftover pills to make it stop. Very, very bad idea, I know, haha. But anyway, what works for one person may not work for another, and what triggers mania in one person may not do the same in another.

Can Lexapro cause frequent urination? because I've been taking it for about 2 years and I go 20 plus times a day. Would a doctor please let me know.

I have been feeling badly lately - poor appetite, hard to concentrate - forgetfulness, more freguent migraine headaches (are headaches increased when TSH is high?) and poor sleeping (only 5-6 hrs a day) Those symptoms caused me to feel depressed. Another Dr gave me Lexapro (my sister takes it and swears it helps her). I took it and felt worse - even more down and immediately weaned myself off (without dr's ok). I feel so much happier since going off Lexapro.

It takes about 4-6 weeks for the average person to notice beneficial effects of a new antidepressant, but side effects start right away. If the anxiety is sky high because of the Lexapro then it might not be the right med for you; only time will tell, but if it's a whole lot worse than it was before starting the med, sometimes medication does that to us. It means the med is too stimulating for you. More details will get better answers.

MD has RX'd lexapro for the anxiety. what is your opinion of taking this med or riding out the anxiety? The anxiety is severe, but I am thinking what is the best or others experience.

I am gonna start lexapro for bad anxiety. Has anyone had good luck with lexapro taking away anxiety? Especially that chest heaviness that comes with anxiety?
