lexapro

Avatar f tn I also felt naseaus on Zoloft, but like I said, Lexapro was great.
1348686 tn?1310654243 I just switched from lexapro to zoloft and the transition went smoothly. Lexapro is a great drug, after the first 5 or 6 weeks it starts to kick in and you should start feeling better but give it time. It takes most SSRI's anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks to start working completely. The reason I switched was cost and the fact that sertraline works better for me. Lexapro is a refined version of celexa basically from what I understand.
Avatar f tn s a great medication but it requires time to fully kick in and then you will see the benefits if it is the medication for you. It's an SSRI and it helps with depression. It may take 4 to 6 weeks before you see any real change whereas benzo work almost right away.
460948 tn?1232302122 Hi I havent taken lexapro myself I take cymbalta but my friend bladerunner said it worked great for him. He tried alot of others and this was the 1st to work for him!!
Avatar f tn I have had great success with Lexapro, but everyone is different. There are some initial side effects, but once they subsided for me, it really helped.
Avatar f tn Ok i want some lexapro now, lol. Congrats on over 2 weeks clean now, you sound like your doing great and so positive, great to hear. P.S. Myself i like that name smartyetstupid, gotta poke fun at ourselves right? It does not have negative energy like mentioned above, lol.
1475202 tn?1536270977 Thanks for sharing Randy! In today's economy we're always looking for generic alternatives to the more expensive drugs...this is good news!!
Avatar m tn A month ago I was switched over from Paxil CR 25mg to Lexapro 10mg and felt better after 2 weeks. At that point I tried to wean down my Klonopin from 1mg to .5mg and up my Lexapro from 10mg to 15mg (doctors recommendations) after a week of doing that I felt terrible and went back up to Klonopin 1mg deciding to ween later. Well now I am a month into the start of Lexapro and even though my anxiety is better, its not great.
Avatar f tn Question: Since Lexapro is basically just a more expensive new version of Celexa, why the change?
535882 tn?1396576685 and have been great still ever since! But if I ever get to feeling bad again... Lexapro will be my 1st choice again!
Avatar m tn Lexapro can be a great treatment plan for some people, but you have to be very honest with your dr. about everything, I mean for teens under 18, and young men and women who have suicidal thoughts should not !!!!! take this medication. What happens is the mental energy that this chemical gives you, can go so high that your bain does not know what to do with it, and you have the thoughts, be very careful and tell your dr. every change in behaviour.
Avatar f tn m new here and I want to find out if anyone ever had an episode of afib/svt on lexapro? I was on it for 8 years of my life and it was great! Last two years were horrible. I was depressed and never was before I gained 20lbs didn't want to go to work had issues sleeping. I was in the treadmill first episode had like two hard beats then racing heart then it was gone. I didn't go to er I just thought it was really scary but by passed it.
1295419 tn?1276822872 Hi, I have been taking Lexapro for severe GAD for the last 3 weeks. I do notice a difference and I have not been obsessing over things as much as before. However I still do have anxiety, especially in the mornings. In others experience, does this continue to get better? I know it can take 4-6 weeks to reach optimal effects. I just didn't know if the Lexapro would only take the edge off and I would still continue to have anxiety. Any input would be appreciated.
955569 tn?1255489680 I know the first few weeks are hard but look at each day as you being closer to feeling better. I had great success on Lexapro. Hang in there and be patient, one day at a time. Take care!
1475202 tn?1536270977 Thanks Randy. I just got my first refill of the generic. I thought it would cost a great deal less, but was surprised there is not a huge price difference. Every little bit helps though!
Avatar f tn Ok, so I am on 4 1/5 weeks of 20 mg lexapro, it seems to work a little but not great, still having anxiety. DO I give it more time, add to it or try something different? I started it back the end of March. It is not the wonder drug that zoloft was but wondering if in time it could be??
Avatar m tn It works great and has few side effects! However, Lexapro is dangerous for people who have bi polar disorder. It can have the tendancy to make you manic. While I was on Lexapro, I was wired and agitated all the time. So try a different anti depressant. Remeron is great esp for sleep. But, I've also heard Wellbutrin is great...and doesn't make you gain weight...so give that a try. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I HAVE BEEN TAKING LEXAPRO FOR 5 DAYS NOW IN THE MORNING AND I SEEM TO BECOME VERY JITTERY AND SLEEPY. I FEEL LIKE I CAN'T FUNCTION . I AM ON IT FOR DEPRESSION. IS THIS NORMAL AND WILL THESE SIDE EFFECTS GO AWAY ? SHOULD I TAKE THE LEXAPRO AT NIGHT BEFORE BED ?
Avatar n tn I have been on buspirone and it does not seem to work. Doc wants me to stay on that and then take 1 Lexapro per day. Also a sleep aid. I think he will take me of Buspirone when the Lexapro reaches its working period. I asked and he informed me that this is not a lifetime thing and you can get off this stuff. Also he advises that lexapro is non-habit as is the sleep aid/anti depressent trazadone he gave me. I am new to this med also as Ambien CR did not do it.
Avatar m tn lexapro or sam-e, somebody please give some advice. Lexapro scares me and sam-e who knows what. I am taking clonazepam for gad, doc wants wean me off with lexapro. All drugs scare me but going through tough time.
723959 tn?1314744225 I have been doing pretty good, I have been off of lexapro for a while now but sometimes Im not sure if I should have stopped. The other night I had a Horrible anxiety attack, I was about to jump in my car and rush to the hospital. I was watching teen choice awards with my daughter..fun right...lol The only thing different is my back is flared up. Not sure what I did, I slipped a disc a few months ago and I think its worse now.
Avatar f tn Several years ago, I went on Lexapro 10mg and in therapy for about a year. I was on it for 5+ years and was doing great. I went off of Lexapro and did great for over a year. My anxiety started to creep back in periodically, but I worked through it. I was on the bc pill Aleese at the time I went off of Lexapro and still did ok, but I did get more anxiety around my period.
407029 tn?1253992623 We both find it helps us a great deal. However, both lexapro and celexa can cause stomach issues for the first couple of weeks for some people. My son had them. However, he persevered, and what were really some pretty bad stomach issues went away after the first two weeks and he is really happy with the medication. I think celexa may be the generic form of lexapro.
397118 tn?1219762250 Maybe you should cut out the tynelol pm and before giving up on triliptol (it does a great job with mood) see if you still need lexapro. I have recently been diagnosed with Bipolar 2 a mild case. I have felt better in the last 60 days since stopping my lexapro. I hope you find a solution. Take it slow so you don't miss any combination that might be right for you. Remember less is more I found out the hard way.
1390847 tn?1344657468 Ive missed a lot of school, my grades are dropping, and my panic attacks and the stress and anger of it all has made me develope depression too. I recently started Lexapro but its not very helpful. Has anyone been successfully treated? Are there any medications without all the bad side effects and risks?
