Avatar f tn I had MVD of the 7/8th cranial never for tinnitus. I had vascular loop that the surgeon pulled out and placed a teflon sponge in place. I still have tinnitus and it's been two weeks. I had two days of quiet around day 4-5 post surgery. Does this mean that it's back for good? or could it get better with time. I assumed that if it was going to work it would have worked immediately. do you know?
Avatar f tn My doctor thought that Lexapro was not working. I went 3 weeks without taking Lexapro and it was sooo bad. So the doctor put me back on 2.5 mg and a program to taper. Here is my question. Why are I waking up every morning with anxiety, hot, racing heart, and nervous stomach? I stay hot all day. My face feels like it is on fire. My heart fills like it is racing but when I take my pulse rate it seems to be ok.
479581 tn?1317757488 I have had tinnitus 24/7 for the past 2 years. The noise is continuous and doesn't pulsate. It seems louder in my left ear. My ENT wants to discuss a neuromonic device at my next appointment. I had an MRI which ruled out a tumor as a cause of the tinnitus. My audiology tests revealed a slight sensory neural hearing loss in my left ear. What is your opinion of using the neuromonic device for treating tinnitus?
Avatar f tn I have been on lexapro for a year now. I suppose I have gotten a little better but everyday life is very hard. Not sure if its the lexapro that has helped me or constant pushing myself to do things. Things that I use to like to do I still do, but its hard to do them so its not so enjoyable anymore. My other problem is I'm not just dizzy I'm very, very anxious, insides trembling bad and heart racing or skipping beats.
Avatar f tn Second month, viral load higher so they stopped all drugs a week ago and was told I can never take these again. I'm the 20% failure rate. Now waiting for more clinical trials - go Gilead. Still have ringing in my ears which started 3 weeks before end of treatment. Doc blaming it on lexapro which I wasn't even taking when it started, and am not taking now. Does anyone else have this problem?
Avatar f tn Thinking about trying Lexapro for generalized anxiety. Any advice or experiences? I have previously tried Buspar (had no effect) and Zoloft which made me constantly nauseous.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried this technology yet? I was hit with Sudden Hearing Loss (Left ear) Nov.2012. After a 30 day prednisone treatment (horrible experience), I recovered some hearing with terrible tinnitus. I did some research and found this new technology. I visited an audiologist who introduced this to me and I'm trying it out for the tinnitus. The Neuromonics device looks like an I-pod and plays great classical and new age "spa music" that is adjusted to the pitch of your tinnitus.
Avatar m tn I took Lexapro (for 6 mths) in the morning. I dun feel groggy and jittery. How long have you been taking Lexapro?? If you are just starting taking it...give your body some time to accept the medcine. But if this concern you yes pls. speak to your Dr..
538745 tn?1213755988 I have a noise in my left ear sounds like listening to a sea shell and I hear echos listening to people talk or the tv.. he said ear was clean and gave me for two weeks Nasonex said if don't work come back..I don't have a cold nose isn't backup no sinus pain or head ache..is this normal to give allergy meds for ear problems ??
Avatar f tn I took the medication for 3 days and I had really bad side effects so I stopped taking them assuming that it wouldn't cause any side effects since I only took it for 3 days. While I was on it, I had ear ringing and now that I stopped, which has been a week, I still have insane ear ringing which is driving me crazy. I have an appointment in about 3 weeks, meanwhile I'd like to know if this is a side effect and will it go away or is the tinnitus going to be permanent?
Avatar f tn I am told anxiety does not cause Tinnitus (the ear rining) but it can exasperate it ... many people have tinnitus their whole lives and don't really notice it....
Avatar f tn I have been on lexapro for about 5 months.I take it for anxiety. I have really loved the results! I have had a couple moments when I have got really ditzy and confused. That kinda freaks me out! It is definetely from the medication just simply because I know myself. I'm wondering if it can cause brain damage or if there are any long term effects in the brain?
1139187 tn?1355706647 Bruce, I seem to recall you have Hashi's, is that right? I also have had a recurrence of tinnitus since the ratio of my meds was changed and labs destabilized. I had been through a lot of neuro-ENT tests before going on thyroid meds...they said I had neuro-ENT reasons for having the ringing, including a balance disorder, yet when my thyroid meds were working it stopped bothering me, and I could always balance on one leg ?? Go figure. Now I am destabilized and it's baaaaaack.
Avatar m tn I took Lexapro for several years with excellent results for depression and anxiety. It takes 4-6 weeks for medications like Lexapro to reach a therapeutic level in your system. Xanax is a fast acting anxiety medication which you take on an as needed basis. They work in different ways. Be patient, you will know when it kicks in. Take care.
Avatar f tn My primary care dr thought it was anxiety and put me on lexapro and ativan, and atenolol for the heart pounding. None of these medications helped. Now I have been taken off of these medications and put on clonodine. Once I went off of those meds, I have the constant feeling of being very disoriented, almost like I'm stoned but I'm not. Sometimes I have ringing in the ears, I can hardly focus, just feel very weird all the time. It's so scary.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I am hoping someone out there may have similar issues/can provide me with some insight... I have been dealing with these issues for the past 2+ years (ever since my younger brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor) and have been to countless doctors who haven't provided me with any actual answers. I have had MRI's of head/cervical spine which were clear, a clear CT scan, a clear nerve testing on the left side, and blood work which was good.
Avatar f tn months in one ear and a speach therapist at my school recommended I check it out. ANYWAY, the good news for you is that he told me bilateral tinnitus like yours possibly is a better prognosis. Also he mentioned the POSSIBLE causes he is looking for: tumor (small possibility), fluid in inner ear, and since I just found out I have an autoimmune arthritis that could be a possibility too. I will get the disk from the imaging center and take it back to him at my next appt.
