I take Lexapro for depression and anxiety. It has really helped me tremendously. I am also diabetic and take Janumet. I would like to become pregnant soon and was wondering if anyone had experience with Lexapro while pregnant/breastfeeding. Do you know if it's approved or known safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Has anyone taken Lexapro or any other SSRIs during pregnancy? If so, what did your doctor say, how do you feel and is baby o.k?

re benign In a healthy heart, and so far ekgs, and echos have shown that to be the case. I am also breastfeeding. Are you still breastfeeding? Have your pvcs improved over time? I hope so. I know how scary this is, and I'm sure you just want your normal life back. These constant pvcs make me pretty miserable. I'm desperate for them to subside. My Cardiologist has me going for a cardiac mri.

ve been on Lexapro for 5 years, stoped for 3- pregnancy and breastfeeding, and I was fine- then anxiety came back full force, went back to meds for over 2 yeara now, and now I stoped it again... Not my choice... I've been suffering horrors without it... But I never had problems while taking Lexapro. Is it possible that the meds are no longer agreeing with you and your anxiety is back and symptoms too?!? The best thing is to make an appointment with your doctor!

I take Zoloft and my midwife has been fine with it and I was on it while breastfeeding my first and will stay on it while breastfeeding this one as well

I was taking lexapro daily & klonopin as needed..then I stopped the Lexapro all together because I was doing so well and was only taking the Klonopin as needed ..up until i found out I was preggers. I plan to get back on the lexapro again....just bc my anxiety has been up and down....but when its up its rough....so I figured I'd try it out again.... There hasn't been too much evidence on lexapro....

Ive recently been diagnosed with major depressive disorder and my doctor wants me to take medication. It's also contributing to an excessive weight gain. I alos have a fear of HIV. It had lasted years and years and it is slowing starting to get better. Though before I got tested, I wasn't really worried as much of getting it as I was convinved that I already had it and I was going to spread it to the whole world. I don't have it and am not just starting to calm a little. I would be afraid that if I touched anyones food that they were automatically going to get hiv from me.

AFter I gave birth I started on zoloft becuase I was breastfeeding...I found that the zoloft did BETTER for me than the lexapro and stayed on it until I found out I was preg agian this time. Again I stopped cold turkey and had minimal w/d symptoms. I do NOT recommend the cold turkey thing though becuase not everyone is as tolerant of medication as I am.

t think I want to risk it though. Breastfeeding was the reason I went on to Zoloft instead of going back on Lexapro. It works well and I didn't have any problems while breastfeeding, which I did for about 3 1/2 months. But while the baby is still developing I just don't think my depression is bad enough to outweigh the risks to the baby. I guess now my question is how am I supposed to stop taking it. I know they suggest tapering off....

I was on lexapro in the beginning and I have had my meds switched several times from lexapro, welbutrin, then I was takin lexapro and welbutrin, and it wasnt helping so now im taking Zoloft... Zoloft is really good for me, it is helping me tremendous... its actually helped me better than lexapro, but everyone is different... I was also afraid of switching... I would atleast give it a chance, and see if it works...if it doesnt then you can tell your insurance...

m on Celexa now but am wondering if maybe Lexapro would be better since anxiety is my biggest concern. Has anyone had suggest with Lexapro. Also does Lexapro cause weight gain like Celexa?

i have gad. plus nerve problems effecting muscles. internal shaking.. is lexapro a good drug. or would a cymbalta be better. for the nerve problems plus anxiety.or is the lexapro. have the ingrediatnts that i need. on lexapro now 11 days ..

I needed a medication for severe depression. My Dr. put me on 20mg of Lexapro. I am now taking 5mg of Abilify to help the boost the Lexapro. I didn't notice the restlessness/anxiety until a month on the Lexapro. Anyone else have this side effect?

I took lexapro when I first started meds and it made me tired all the time and memory loss, which I couldnt remember what I did yesterday, type thing. I went from lexapro to welbutrin, then I was taking lexapro and welbutrin... but now the doc has me on Zoloft, which I feel is better for me than lexapro and welbutrin, I just dont like the sexual side affects.. which I cannot enjoy my sexual desires.. but im gonna go back to the doc for that...

I went to the doctor today and changed lexapro ten milligrams for pristiq fifty milligrams. My doctor told me to stop the lexapro all to gether but im reading lexapro has horrible withdrawel symtoms. Has any one stopped lexapro?

I agree with Nursegirl...it's a great drug. I took Lexapro for eight years, until it recently stopped working, and then went on Zoloft, and now I'm back on the Lexapro. I have a very hard time tolerating most drugs, but Lexapro never caused me any side effects, except maybe some initial tiredness. I also felt naseaus on Zoloft, but like I said, Lexapro was great.

Not sure why your insurance company will not accept Lexapro. The cost difference between name brand Lexapro and name brand Celexa is nill.

Question: Since Lexapro is basically just a more expensive new version of Celexa, why the change?
