Avatar f tn I take one to fight babybrain. Omegas are stripped from myelin shealths during pregnancy and since they act as lubricant in the conduction of, essentially thoughts, our thought process is slowed. I didn't ask my doc about it yet but it does clear up fog in my brain.
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.

Avatar m tn I took an Omega-3 supplement for the first time before going to bed last night, and when I woke up one eye was very swollen and puffy. The only allergies I have had are seasonal. Could I be allergic to the Omega-3 supplement?
Avatar n tn I am not sure of your question. Are you asking where omega 3 and omega 6 foods come from? Omegas 3 / 6 are polyunsaturated oils that help lower cholesterol and help prevent blood platelets from clotting blood vessel walls. The best source is fish especially mackerel, tuna, salmon, and lake trout. Fish should be eaten 2-3 times a week. Omega 3 are found in whole nuts, soy nuts / oil, and canola oil. Recommend 1-2 teaspoons of nuts daily. Hope this answered your question.
476654 tn?1207852799 I am fine with the kids I work with, but my age and older- ugh! Anyways, I take effexor and fish oil (used to take lexapro, it was tough getting off trust me), and I would say stay on it, and add the fish oil. Maybe consider getting the dose lowered.
Avatar n tn what about 2/1/2 mg's if you could and consider prolonging the withdrawal periods? When I've come over and cross-tapered meds if been for 6 weeks or so. Also what about omega 3 & 6's (I think) fish oils.
Avatar n tn My husband has severe dry eyes, and has started taking omega 3 and flax seed oil. It is working very well, but his dose (after gradual increase to a point of benefit) is more than recommended. Can he overdose on 3 times the normal dose of purified omega 3 fish oil..the brand he takes is Health from the Sea PFO pure fish oil liquid. He takes twice the dose of the flax seed oil (same brand name).
Avatar m tn Higher concentrations of EPA and DHA, the active components in omega-3s, can also be found in LOVAZA — the first and only prescription omega-3 medication. It is important to know that some types of fish may contain mercury and other pollutants from the environment. Therefore, the American Heart Association (AHA) cautions that some people should limit the amount of certain types of fish they eat.
Avatar m tn t just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints. It can also reduce your clotting factor if taken in too high doses, causing excessive bleeding.
317787 tn?1473358451 Hi there! I just found this group and was wondering if anyone had tried Omega 3 supplements. I am trying them now for stiffness in joints, body. I've also read it can help with brain fog or fuzzy thinking.
Avatar f tn My daughter took Omega 3 fish oil, magnesium (those two I think were important) and also lecithin, Vit C, sometimes choline and inositol. She drank DanActive (yogurt drink) and sometimes whey protein. My daughter tapered a little at a time ( 10 mg to 7.5 to 5 to 4.5 to 4, 3.5, 3, 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1, .5 her last step was .25 mg (¼ of 1 mg.). She waited about 2 weeks after each reduction to stabilize (though she stayed on 5 mg for a month). She is doing fine after 6 weeks of being totally off.
Avatar m tn I have suffered from anxiety in the past, however, I have quit my medication (lexapro) about 8 months ago, and after the first 1-2 months, my anxiety completely disappeared. 8 months ago my heart rate was around 65bpm, and my blood pressure around 135/80. Nowadays, my heart rate is around 80-85bpm resting, and my BP around 145/90. I have in the past tested my thyroid function (no problems), did several ECGs, one echo, as well as tests to check cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
