Avatar m tn She said something that scared me. She said with the lexapro at 10 mg and the adderall xr at 20 mg in the morning and 10 mg in the afternoon that combo could be causing serotonin syndrome??!! Would I just get that out of nowhere?? I mean i have taken this combo for a while now. I have had some form of anxiety throughout.! I emailed the doc and told him. He said he wasn’t sure without looking at me. Could I have this syndrome when I have had been taking it this long?
Avatar n tn He put me on the Aciphex to control my stomach acid, and the Domperidone for the motility. I am on Lexapro for anxiety and depression, and have had anxiety problems for two to three years now. 2) I would also like to mention that my girlfriend and I did wait until her yeast infection symptoms subsided to resume sexual activity. 3) I also had several kidney stones that I passed in July of 2008. Do you think I could possibly have more kidney stones?
Avatar m tn ex boyfriends that ruined my life and i have an amazing boyfriend now who i love), i have been really ocd, shaky, dizzy, dont want to sleep as much as I used to sleep and have bad rls at night time and while in bed. Is this due to withdraws from Lexapro? All together I was on Lexapro for almost two years so my body is used to the medication and I havent been on it in about a month.
Avatar n tn Ulcers are not listed as a side effect of Lexapro. I would contact your GI doctor about your stomach problems and go from there. We aren't qualified to tell you how to change your prescribed dosage on medication(s). You need to discuss this with your prescribing doctor. Don't assume your stomach problems are due to your medication, it may just be coincidental...ulcers can and do come back.
Avatar n tn Since April of 2009, I have been having strange urinary problems. For about 3 weeks, I had increased urinary frequency and urgency, as well as painful urination. This seemed to come with thirst and dry mouth. The frequency and urgency have gone, as well as the increased thirst and dry mouth, but I am still stuck with painful urination. The urine now appears foamy as well. The pain is a burning when urinating, and then I get a lingering pain down what feels like the whole urethral tube.
Avatar n tn Is lexapro and xanax the same? If not, what is the difference and does the lexapro make you feel the same as xanax do??

Avatar m tn just try to hang in there till the lexapro has timeto take effect...I hope and pray things work out well for you...keep us posted ok...
Avatar n tn if your main symptom is palpitations, then a beta blocker might be more appropriate than Lexapro. But if you had a lot of problems and most have gone away, then stick with the Lexapro -- drugs don't cure, they just mitigate the symptoms. You'll always have symptoms unless you find a cure through some kind of therapy work.

1165078 tn?1338655745 I've been on Keppra for over 3 yrs now, other than gain weight as soon as I was put on the drug, I've had numerous UTI's and kidney infec. as well as Kidney stones, I reduced my dosage by half (1000mg/day down to 500mg/day) over a period of 4 months last yr, still szr free, and blood levels come back with in therapeutic range (something my Neuro can't quite explain yet isn't making me go back up to the 1000mg/day). But I'm having more kidney issues.. am I alone on this?
Avatar n tn Took it for three years, Have experienced inner ear problems since day 3. Read that withdrawl could cause anxiety and irritability. Haven't experienced that - only inner ear problems. Movement such as turning my head or bending over aggravates the problem. Any suggestions for help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have only taken the medication for 4 days and have stomach problems already. Plus I take medication for acid reflux and have for several years.
Avatar m tn I took two lexapro 4 months ago and was diagnosed with an Extra Pyramidial Effect. I had bad muscle spasms and stuttering. I was put on benztropine which put the bad spasms and stuttering to a slower pace. I was taken off that medicine by my regualar doctor because of what it did to my eyesight. I only get mild ticks and spasms thruout the day and only stutter at times. I still have a constant shaking in my left hand which i did not have before.
397118 tn?1219762250 caution is advised with 5htp and ssris...i did take 100 - 200 mg 5htp when i was on lexapro and had no problems...it is a caution and i was on 10 mg which i really took just 5 mg of lexapro for wds as i halfed my lexapro.....5htp releases serotonin and so does lexapro so the caution is serotonin overload Methionone is the precursor of SAMe and is more stable and more readily absorbed than SAMe and cheaper...it increses enkephlins and not serotonin///they r not the same...
Avatar f tn side effect of Lexapro (and all SSRIs) is atrial fibrillation and arrhythmias. That is what has me scared. Even though it is RARE I am still afraid I will be that one person that has it!
541196 tn?1293552936 I take Lexapro for depression and anxiety. It has really helped me tremendously. I am also diabetic and take Janumet. I would like to become pregnant soon and was wondering if anyone had experience with Lexapro while pregnant/breastfeeding. Do you know if it's approved or known safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Avatar m tn Hi all As part of my treatment for trying to uncover why I have tachycardia, I had to see a psychiatrist, who has prescribed me Xanax (extended release - once daily) and Lexapro b/c he believes i suffer from generalized anxiety and possible depression. Does anyone on this board (with heart rhythm issues) have success stories from these drugs that you could share with me?
Avatar m tn I took Lexapro for a while a few years ago but now my insurance won't cover it. At the time, there were sexual side effects too. Now my insurance covers Celexa. I tried Celexa and it was definitely not a good thing, threw me hypomanic/manic. If I could, I would take the Lexapro again and just take the medicine for the side effects (which are covered by my insurance!). I don't remember any weight gain on Lexapro either.
Avatar f tn Look, if you can handle this and it isn't getting progressively worse, then psychotherapy, not medication, is where you should start. Always try the least invasive approach medically first unless the need is urgent. Psychotherapy is hard and takes a long time and it's hard to find the right therapist, but if you do and it goes well, you might find a long term fix, whereas the best drug is only a palliative, not a cure. Follow your instincts and find a therapist.
Avatar f tn I am so sorry to hear about our pain and kidney issues. I can imagine how painful and tiresome it must all be ....and my heart goes out to you. I've had multiple kidney stones also. I assume they are unable to provide a specific diagnosis for your under the rib pain.... or do they believe it is related to the kidney issues? I can certainly relate to be tired of "pain meds" however we often have little choices if we want to tolerate our pain and function to some degree.
1348086 tn?1370783185 If any thing is serious with your kidney then you will come to know immediatly so no need to wait for symptoms to occur, Also do not do lot of google search because the more you do the more you learn the new symptoms and your brain will start mapping those symptoms to kidney and finally you will land up in health anxiety.... Enjoy life take care of your mother.. take her outside for a walk .. call your friends at home .. have a nice atmosphere at home and enjoy... dont think much ...
Avatar n tn I was reffered to a urologist specialist and found out she only had one kidney and had number 5 reflux in that kidney,so she had surgery on that kidney and so far so good.No more infections, and she is now 10 and doing fine.Good luck with your little girl,i know they worry the hell out of you but try to take one day at a time or the stress will make you sick.
Avatar n tn org/cgi/content/abstract/2/3/563 Liver disease secondary to chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in dialysis patients and kidney transplant recipients. Evaluation of patients with chronic HCV infection is warranted to determine stage of disease and the need for HCV therapy.
