Lexapro and fever

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro and fever

lexapro

Avatar f tn In contrary to the calming effect of serotonin, serotonin syndrome will mostly make you hyperactive, stiff, tremors and in the worse case will cause fever and this when it is potentially dangerous. Anxiety and stress can cause tremors too. If you have been stressed out lately then it could explain the tremors too and also various aches.
Avatar m tn Your "major side effect" is a "significant decrease in ejaculation time." and you are taking pain killers and fever meds?? Your partner is worried?? I am not sure whether to be amused or impressed. I think I am both. In that vein ( intentional pun) investigate Taoist Sexual Kung Fu. There are simple grips and breathing techniques that require a modicum of discipline that should remedy your "major side effect" HA! Keep up the good work.
358304 tn?1409709492 I use to take a hot bath before i went to bed everynight and that really helped me. Maybe you can try that and see how it works out for you. If nothing seems like it is working i would speak with your dr and let him know what is going on. I hope you start to feel better soon.
689327 tn?1240229164 In the past yr I have been on celexa, lexapro , Zoloft and now back on lexapro because the 200 mg of Zoloft was making me shakey. None of these AD's seem to work aty anxiety and depression. The only slight relief I get is from klonopin, which I have been on for a yr also (low dose .25mg 3x's a day. My podcast keeps telling me to be patient because it takes time for these mess to work .
Avatar n tn No disrespect, but this is one of the more absurd questions I have read. You are on an anti-depressant (lexapro) and consuming alcohol, a CNS depressant, AND taking another mind-numbing substance (Vicodin). You should be taking Lexapro ONLY to deal with depression or whatever reason you are taking it. Both other meds are contraindicated for Lexapro. Smarten up.
Avatar m tn Equivalencies are generalizations, and you are an individual. Besides, Pristiq is a different class of drug than Lexapro. Lexapro is an ssri while Pristiq is an snri. And if it were me, which it isn't, I'd start at a low dosage and work my way up on any medication so I could see how bad the side effects were and the lowest dosage at which it works is.
Avatar n tn Is lexapro and xanax the same? If not, what is the difference and does the lexapro make you feel the same as xanax do??
Avatar n tn Hi All, I am a 30 year old male suffering from obssessive thoughts, I had a stomach ulcers 6 years back and i use Rabeprazole 20 mg daily as a maintenance therapy, My GP suggested escitalopram (Lexapro 10mg) daily, after 2 weeks using the medicine i feel much better and my thoughts have come down, however 2 weeks into the medication i started having severe stomach burning sensation especially in the upper stomach behind the breast bone and the center of the rib cage, i recognise its the same fee
Avatar m tn Hello. I suffer from panic disorder and have been on a steady dose of Lexapro 10mg and Klonopin 0.25mg for 5yrs. 5months ago I was given Ciprofloxacin and Flagyl for an UTI. My girlfriend had them before me and had panic attacks and nervous breakdowns 1 week after treatment.
1253246 tn?1332073310 Patients who suffer from depression and other mood disorders are often prescribed medications from the drug class known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs. Lexapro is an SSRI that is commonly prescribed for depression and other mental health disorders. Unfortunately, the use of Lexapro has the potential to cause injury to the liver resulting in hepatitis and elevated liver enzymes. Read more: http://www.livestrong.
Avatar m tn Hi all As part of my treatment for trying to uncover why I have tachycardia, I had to see a psychiatrist, who has prescribed me Xanax (extended release - once daily) and Lexapro b/c he believes i suffer from generalized anxiety and possible depression. Does anyone on this board (with heart rhythm issues) have success stories from these drugs that you could share with me?
Avatar n tn I was taking lexapro and felt it was doing fairly well. Recently I had surgery and this doctor changed the lexapro to a paxil and buspar. At first I felt fine but now three weeks of the new meds and I am tired all of the time and very down. I have a medical condition that I have to take several meds for ex: fentora, oxyliquid, fentanel patch. perscribed through a pain management doctor. There is not much follow up with the new medicine and I wonder if all of this is good.
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome! Your doctor prescribed you a common regimen. The Lexapro is an SSRI antidepressant that will take some time to become effective (typically 4-6 weeks, sometimes up to 8 weeks, especially when starting on a low dose as you are). The Xanax is a benzodiazepine, anti-anxiety medication that is being Rx'ed to treat the symptoms of anxiety while you're adjusting to the Lexapro, and waiting for it to become effective in reducing your anxiety.
Avatar n tn if your main symptom is palpitations, then a beta blocker might be more appropriate than Lexapro. But if you had a lot of problems and most have gone away, then stick with the Lexapro -- drugs don't cure, they just mitigate the symptoms. You'll always have symptoms unless you find a cure through some kind of therapy work.
Avatar m tn Happened to me with it, happens to many who take it. During the time I was on Lexapro I started taking 3 showers a day, and often had to get up and shower so I could go back to sleep. However, the prohibition of 5-HTP does apply when you take an SSRI -- you shouldn't take both. 5-HTP can also cause night sweats in some people, though probably fewer than Lexapro. I am wondering why you would take it after your doc correctly told you not to, but that's another issue.
709686 tn?1277432159 Started Lexapro today and I am quite "jittery" and shaky. does anyone know if I can take a small benzo to help calm me down until the Lexapro takes effect?
616534 tn?1233236497 I am now on Bupropreon (sorry for the spelling) which is the opposite of Lexapro and it works better for me as it treats my ADD and my mood swings.
Avatar f tn We have been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months now and I have not been on birth control for atleast ten months. I have been perscribed previously to take Lexapro and i was wondering if it was safe to take this while trying to get pregnant?
869879 tn?1239660309 Has anyone ever taken Lexapro and Abilify together? I've been on 10mg Lexapro (for chronic dysthymia) for about 2 years now. I've always had positive reactions to Lexapro: great sex drive, great mood, slept okay (I do take Lunesta for sleep). However, lately (for the past 4 months I'd say), my depression has worsened for no real reason. I've found myself a lot more tired when I wake up (I sleep 9-10 hours a night), don't want to be with anyone, no energy, no sex drive.
Avatar n tn I am taking Buspar and Lexapro for anxiety. any suggestions on loosing weight. I have gained about 50 pounds in the last 8 months.
Avatar f tn I've been on Zoloft for five years 100 mgs now on 50 mgs and trying Lexapro . Past two weks my anxiety has tripled so my doc put me on cymbalta. Will Cymbalta increase my anxiety like the Lexapro I hear they are similiar? Are there any odd side effects. Doc is starting me on 30 mgs.
Avatar n tn my sister has been on 20mg per day lexapro and stopped cold turkey. why she has been put on such a huge dose - apparently lower doses didnt work and she has been on 240 mg for five years now. who does one go and see about this sort of thing because i fear psychosis for her. she no longer feels safe in her house and has also developed agrophobia. her GP doesnt seem to do much other than prescribe further drugs. should she see a psychologist ? or psychiatrist? yours in confusion.
Avatar f tn Several years ago, I went on Lexapro 10mg and in therapy for about a year. I was on it for 5+ years and was doing great. I went off of Lexapro and did great for over a year. My anxiety started to creep back in periodically, but I worked through it. I was on the bc pill Aleese at the time I went off of Lexapro and still did ok, but I did get more anxiety around my period.
