lexapro and clonazepam

I was just recently switched from my old medication, Lexapro, to Clonazepam. I had been on Lexapro for 9 years and felt it was no longer helping me. I have been having panic attacks for the first time in my life. I have had to call 911 a few times this past year. I now know that it is panic attacks. I have a history of severe hypertension. So, the stress and anxiety just adds to that. My doctor put me on Clonazepam 0.5 mg. 3X daily. I started taking it on January 15. It has helped tremendously.

ve been on 20mgs citalopram for the last 3 months and just started taking clonazepam, and **** does it work great

25mg of Clonazepam in the morning and .5mg of Clonazepam at night (clonazepam is the generic of Klonopin). I have still been having panic attacks at night, but the only symptoms that I get are dizziness and extreme hot flashes. Has anyone had luck with Lexapro? I'm sure it is too soon to notice the effects, I just really want to get off the Clonazepam as soon as possible. But with all these attacks still happening, I doubt that will be soon.

Have you noticed any side effects on Clonazepam or Lexapro? I am on 10 mg of Lexapro for a while now and added 1 mg of Clonazepam 2 monts ago. I noticed that I get twitches in my fingers and sometimes my fingers shake a little. Does this familiar to anyone?

To treat an anxiety problem, he was on antidepressants (Lexapro and then Effexor for the last year) plus a daily dose of Klonopin for five years (.25 mg), between the ages of 22 and 27. We read a lot about the negative effects of antidepressants on sperm, so he tapered off the medication (under his doctor's supervision). We gave it a few months before trying to conceive. Studies say that effects of antidepressants on sperm are reversible after about three months time.

The doctor prescribed Effexor since I had really bad side effects with Lexapro. So far I am on day 7 of Effexor and feel fine. It hasn't helped me sleep all that much like clonazapem. But I will give this medication about 2 mos to see how it helps. Do you notice any hair shedding with clonazepam? Or is it just me and stress? I swear I have been seeing more of my hair all over the place. I feel like my hair is getting so thin and is shedding like crazy.

i am confused.which drug would help?should i take esctilopram10mg and clonazepam 1mg at the same time and slowly taper off clonazepam.its been 2 weeks i am on escitlopram but feeling really werid.

She agreed and upped my dose on Lexapro to 15mgs and told me to cut my Clonazepam down to .5mgs in a few days. I did and felt decent for 4-5 days. Days 6-8 felt like I was hit by a truck. I didn't want to get out of bed, severe anxiety, depressed, all the above. I called the Dr back and they told me to go back up to my 1mg of Clonazepam for now until I am stable and we can slowly withdrawal later.

Hi there - I was on Xanax 1 mg/day and doc switched me to Klonopin 1 mg/day. So far so good although I feel like the dose of Klonopin is fairly low. He also wants me to take Lexapro 10 mg but I've done lots of research online and talked to people and almost everyone complained about gaining weight!! Jeez...I need to lose 20 lb not gain. My self-esteem is already low from being on the "chunky" side.

I have sleep anxiety and only sleep 4 to 5 hours a night. I feel exhausted most of the time and I am able to fall asleep with melatonin but only helps for about 4 hours. I've tried Ambien, Clonazepam and everything over the counter. Clonazepam seemed to work but it's a controlled drug so I would like to get off it. Has anyone tried Rozerem? It's not a controlled drug. Thoughts or experience on Rozerem would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for your input Paxiled. I needed to hear that because deep down I know that I don't need these medications. I don't have a mental problem just went thru a phase of mixed emotions. I fell in love and fell hard for someone. The relationship was a toxic one and we both knew it. Yet, we couldn't end it and just kept dragging it further on. My heart aches still. I just don't know how to snap out of this.

I was in Lexapro and clonazepam for anxiety before I got pregnant. Once we got a positive test, the doctor tried to take me off the meds, but I couldn't handle it, so I am back on them....21 weeks pregnant and doing okay. My doctor actually told me either Zoloft or Lexapro are the safer options if you need a medication. Don't suffer...you have to keep yourself feeling good to keep your stress levels low for baby. Talk to your doctor about it...

I am having thought and feelings I havent had in many years and I want to switch back to the Lexapro. I also take 1mg of Clanozapam in the morning. As of today, I did not take the Cymbalta and am going to go back to the Lexapro tomorrow. Any thought?

I take Clonazepam(Klonopin) and have been on it for 8 months and no weight gain. This med is for anxiety and panic attacks.But, I feel like it helps w/ my depression. I have had no bad effects at all.

I HAVE BEEN ON CLONAZEPAM SINCE 06/22/09, 0.5MG IN AM, O.5MG IN AFTERNOON AND 1MG AT BEDTIME. I REENTLY CUT ABOUT 1/4 OFF EACH DOSE. I DO NOT FEEL THE BEST. FOR 5 DAYS BEFORE THAT I WAS ON 0.5MG OF XANAX 2 TIMES A DAY. I NEED TO GO BACK TO WORK SOON, CAN I QUIT COLD TURKEY?

t want to be home, especially alone. And needed to be around people or driving. I did evetually get put on lexapro 10 mg and clonazepam. Also around this time I started having heat flashed. I am now 52. I also went and talked to someone about the fears I was feeling. When I feel good, I can't imagine wishing I was dead rather than feeling what I was feeling.

So, I've firmly decided that yesterday's dose of lexapro would be my first and last one. My doctor gave me a prescription for Klonopin to replace my xanax but I havent started it yet. I have severe health anxiety and the possibility of Xanax withdrawal scares me to death. I've been taking Xanax 1.5mg a day for exactly a moth and a half. Before that, I used to only take 0.25mg a day.

I take pain pills also and Clonazepam. I had a triple back surgery last yr and still suffer from back pain and have been out of work for 1 yr. The 2 together are ok..What really really helps is when you are feeling anxious beyond control is go into a room by yourself and take several long deep deep breaths. It will calm you and your mind down. I also used to have a fear of dying etc...This all is from the **** from our childhood that you told me. We suffer shame, guilt, etc..

Hi Joe, I don't think it affects sleep, but I can only go by personal experience. I've been on Clonazepam for 11 years and it has not affected my sleep at all. In fact, I have slept pretty good until the last couple of months. I've developed insomnia where I lay awake most of the night, but I believe it's another underlying issue which I'm trying to get to the bottom of through testing.

My doctor upped my Lexapro to 20 milligrans and put me back on the clonazepam 2 times a day at 0.5 mg. I weaned off again slowly 1 month down to 1 then another month down to half. At the half mark I started having anxiety again. Now I am on 30 mg of Lexapro and back on clonazapem 2 times a day. Will I ever be able to wean off of this medicine. Should I be weaning at a slower pase. I am afraid that my body has become addicted.

I was just curious since my doctor is so afraid of using Clonazepam at high doses, I only take .5 mg twice a day as needed, and my panic attacks can be really severe when I do have one. I have only been on Clonazepam for three months. I was on Flouxetine for 9 weeks and I was still having severe anxiety w/ the Clonazepam. I know there is no magic pill but there has got to be something to help until I balance out on my SSRI. Any advice? Thanks again!

lexapro or sam-e, somebody please give some advice. Lexapro scares me and sam-e who knows what. I am taking clonazepam for gad, doc wants wean me off with lexapro. All drugs scare me but going through tough time.

I keep my driving to a minimum! But no morning horrible morning cramping and stiffness and the discomfort I have in my legs is so much better.

I have been on clonazepam 1mg twice a day for quite a long time now (maybe 10 years) for a twitch in multiple parts of my body. I went to a new doctor and he strongly recommended getting off of it due to its strong addictive nature. He recommended cutting my dosage in half every 1-1.5 weeks depending on how I feel. I did: 1mg x2 for a week 1mg at night for a week .5mg x2 for a week .5mg at night for a week and now I'm off.

Hi, my name is Tina and I'm new here. I've had some mild anxiety issues for the past 2 years but nothing serious, until recently. On Sept. 8 I was rushed to the ER with tachycardia, which was not anxiety related. They found out that my heart is fine but I have supraventricular tachycardia- not a life threatening condition, which could be corrected with an ablation. That's an outpatient procedure and was scheduled for Oct. 8th.
