Levoxyl stomach pain

Common Questions and Answers about Levoxyl stomach pain

synthroid

Avatar f tn Is it okay to take levoxyl and iron supplements both together on an empty stomach???
Avatar f tn At this same visit, we determined I have a gluten sensitivity and I went on a gluten free diet. My stomach pain went away and so did my joint pain. When my blood work came back, the doctor recommended I up my dose from .25 mcg to .50 mcg, but since I still had a bottle of Synthroid, I just took two a day until they were all. When I picked up my new prescription from the pharmacy and brought it home, I realized they'd filled it with generic. I figured I'd give it a try.
727481 tn?1231203771 I had radioactive treament due to Graves Disease, and six months later my thyroid was declared dead. I was put on levothyroxin, synthroid and now levoxyl, but 3 months later I still feel awful. My symptoms are high blood pressure, constant trembling, feeling like I have the flu, dizziness, insomnia. My last blood test showed a TSH at 3.21, Free T4 at 1.0 and Free T3 at 3.1.
Avatar f tn In 2005 I had the right side of my thyroid removed. I've been on Levoxyl 75mcg. since that time and recently was put on Cytomel .5mgc twice a day. What would result if I had to stop taking them? Thank you kindly for your information.
Avatar n tn First medication tried was .75 of Synthroid, then generics, Cytomel, Armour. Currently on .25 Levoxyl on 4 times per week. Was thinking about switching back to Synthroid at a lower dosage - would this make sense? Has anyone else had bad side effects with meds, and then felt better on Synthroid? I just don't feel right, I don't feel well and I don' t know what to do. Any suggestions? I just want to FEEL BETTER. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I've never heard of levoxyl stressing out the adrenals... Typically, when one is hypo, the adrenals will kick in and try to make up for the lack of thyroid hormones; once the hormones are provided, the adrenals should settle back to normal. Weight gain is, typically, a symptom of being hypo. Are you sure your thyroid hormone levels are adequate? If you have current results, please post them, along with reference ranges, which vary lab to lab and have to be posted with results.
Avatar f tn I was reading these questions and answers and have found that I have also had a reaction to Levoxyl. I have been on the drug since the end of January when my endo switched me from Synthroid to Levoxyl (125 mcg). For about 3-4 weeks now I have noticed that my blood pressure is higher than normal, 138/78, it used to be 110/70. I get heart palpitations and my chest feels like it is squezing in the front and the back.
Avatar n tn I have always taken levoxyl for my hypothyroidism. My sister was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and was prescribed levothyroxin. Her dosage was increased shortly after her diagnosis and she gave me some of her pills because it is the same dose I am taking. She thought I could use the extra pills. Is there a difference in the response to these two medications? Also within the last several months my weight has increased, pretty much overall but mainly my stomach.
Avatar f tn It states on the Levoxyl drug website that: In patients with severe hypothyroidism, the recommended initial levothyroxine sodium dose is 12.5-25 mcg/day with increases of 25 mcg/day every 2-4 weeks, accompanied by clinical and laboratory assessment, until the TSH level is normalized. Does anyone know why? could i be considered "severe hypothyroidism" with TSH of 102 and Free T4 .17? If so, why would my doc want me to start with 88mcg - 100mcg?
Avatar n tn My Levoxyl doesn't seem to be helping much right now and it was recently adjusted. I take it in the morning, but I also have a latte within 30 min. or so. I know I'm supposed to take it on empty stomach, but... an hour is a long time to wait to have my morning coffee. Any ideas? Thoughts?
1139187 tn?1355706647 I am hearing positive things about levoxyl (brand). I am currently on a compound and i have been on it for about 8 weeks now. My numbers are getting pretty bad and the doctor says the compound is not right for me. My last full test showed that my tsh was at 65. The ft3 was 1.3 (range 2.3 to 3.9) and my ft4 was .4 (range .8 to 1.8) currently my tsh is at 115 but i do not know my frees right now. they are suggesting moving me from a compound of 150 to a levoxyl of 175.
Avatar f tn Okay, after all of my issues with my teeth hurting, dry mouth, TSH not budging, my doc called me today and suggested I switch from Levoxyl to Synthroid. What kind of side effects am I looking at? The dosage is the same. I've always taken Levoxyl, for 14 years. Now, after the thyroidectomy I'm just having minor issues like no saliva! Doc doesn't think it's related to the meds but he's willing to switch me to see if it makes a difference.
Avatar f tn m just adjusting to the thyroid juice and to hang in there. Continue with the same dosage of levoxyl. This is after taking the levoxyl from the end of June until the second week of October. She sent me to have a scan of my thyroid because she said it was enlarged and for more blood work. Had that done on 10/13/08. Went to the family doc on 10/9/08 and my blood pressure wasn't coming down (still at about 140/85) so he changes the med to lysinop HCTZ 20/25.
327369 tn?1326119908 I had been on Synthroid for the past year, and had been experiencing a couple ofi ssues that were troublesome. My stomach was bloated to the point that I looked 4 months pregnant, I was unable to go to the bathroom for days upon days (after having been regular and going twice a day prior to that), and I didn't feel quite RIGHT. I eat healthy, I run five miles every other day, and I am active at work.
Avatar f tn Hi, My Doctor started me with Levoxyl at 50 mcg (he said at this dose it had no additional fillers - he was concerned that I was reacting to fillers which is odd as he had me on 50 mcgs of Tirosint prior and pulled me off because he thought I was reacting to Tirosint (my skin was peeling). Interestingly he tried 75 mcg of synthroid (which I do have hay fever so that didn't work) and said I really needed 75 mcgs but I guess he wanted to see how well I would tolerate the levoxyl.
Avatar n tn Medically, the switch from Tirosint to Levoxyl was totally painless, though I did go from 88 mcg to 100 mcg, but I was ready to do that on Tirosint, as well. I feel as good, or better, than I did on Tirosint. The best part is that my wallet loves the price difference. I just picked up my refill yesterday, so I'm good to go for another 90 days.
Avatar n tn I have been back on Levoxyl after being off it for 8 months.I felt good at first but going in to my third week -not so good.I feel very tired, legs are wobbly and like jelly at times.I just feel blah and like passing out at times. Is it possible the dose is too high?My doctor put me on 88 mcg when I was previously on 75.tsh was over 26 but I hear it corrects pretty qiuickly when back on meds.Any input would be appreciated.
616450 tn?1228433627 After the RAI I felt great for a few months. When the doctor put me on Levoxyl, after I supposedly went a LITTLE hypo, I started feeling like ****. I have more anxiety, can't sleep and my heart gets pumped up easily. I get out of breath real easy too. I think my heart is affected and I have chest pains. I feel sick and nauseated all the time and have to go lay down even at work, so I'll eventually lose my job if something isn't done.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking 25mgs of levoxyl and everytime I take the pill i get a racing heartbeat and heart palpitations. I have called my doctor and the nurse there told me to take the pill every other day. i tried that but then I would get the palpitations on the days I would take it. Then I called back after a week and was told to take it every 3 days. I stopped for 3 days to get some of it out of my system and felt great. Not as many palpitations and i was able to sleep.
Avatar f tn I will probably either go back to taking my Nutri Thyroid at an increased dose or try Levoxyl. Has anybody got any experience with this drug or Evotrox Liquid ?? Thanks for any help and advice you can give me. AquarianGlory This discussion is related to Levothyroid and mood swings.
Avatar n tn I take 50mcg daily with 100mcg Levoxyl. I also have to take 20mg of Aciphex because it can be hard on my stomach. When I started taking the Levoxyl, I had been on the Cytomel for about 2 years, had alot of the same symtoms you had, aftet adding the 2nd, it took a good 3 months to really kick in and I started feeling like a human again. I wasn't tired all the time, the fogginess, weight gain, moodiness all seemed to go away.
Avatar f tn Levoxyl is indeed a brand name levothyroxine, like Synthroid. It's the only brand my insurance covers, that's why I take it. It's works out best for me but the name has been a real pain. Now, before leaving the pharmacy counter I have to take my med out of the bag, read it and make sure it says 'Levoxyl - 112 mcg.
Avatar n tn I just started on synthroid, is it common to have an unusal increase in joint pain and other symptons?
