levoxyl side effects drugs

Hey I have been taking Tirosint for 3 months and I have had terrible side effects. I have lost so much more hair, I have broken out in hives, major headaches, memory loss, confusion, major depression, weight gain, on and on. I was taking armor before this and I had a lot less side effects. I felt so much better but the med world doesn't want to support armor for some reason so they fight against us taking it.

When I started on this brand, Levoxyl, I had subtle side effects right away. It was the same when I had started on another brand, Synthroid, and before that on a generic. They did subside though. If yours don't, call and tell the dr. It's good you read the insert and it sounds like you're taking good care of yourself. Keep it up.

For the last year or two I have been having side effects from my Levothyroxine. Insomnia, flushing, muscle pain, fatique, mood swings, etc. I have always had problems taking any drugs. I seem to be pretty sensitive to them. What would you suggest taking for hypothyroidism that won't give me problems? What is everyone else taking?

Some of us are very sensitive to levo and have to start out at a very low dose and increase very slowly or we have side-effects. Also, if the palps persist, ask about a beta blocker. BBs really help palps, and they do it almost immediately. Also vey cheap.

Is there a major difference and or side effects from these 2 drugs. I am currently on 75 mcg of Synthroid 6 weeks post op and my TSH is now at 12.1...pre-op was at .5...and 2 weeks post op was at 1.0....the switch to Synthroid was at my 2 week post op appt. I am just wondering if the drug switch has anything to do with that...obviously I will have to be bumped up but do not know if I should request one over the other...HELP!!!!

4 (started at 7.56) I stopped the Levoxyl because of the side effects it had (for me) I started Armour natural dessicated thryoid and within 3 days the side effects from the Levoxyl were gone. My blood pressure on Armour has been normal (112/70) consistantly. I take 60 mg (1 grain) each morning. Do I feel perfect? No. But I can function and sleep normally which I couldn't on the synthetic hormone.

I was reading these questions and answers and have found that I have also had a reaction to Levoxyl. I have been on the drug since the end of January when my endo switched me from Synthroid to Levoxyl (125 mcg). For about 3-4 weeks now I have noticed that my blood pressure is higher than normal, 138/78, it used to be 110/70. I get heart palpitations and my chest feels like it is squezing in the front and the back.

Do the new drugs come with their own side effects besides the ones that soc come with? Not sure if I asked that right, I'm still waiting for everything to come together but if the new meds come with even worse side effects than one might already get maybe that's another reason to treat now.

I was so irritable all the time. All I could do was stay in bed. I realized these were all side effects of this patch. The side effects of the patch so adversely effected my life I decided to take it off one night. I went through a detox like you'd never imagine. I had hallucinations, vomitting etc. I had no idea what I had done. I put the patch back on, and weened myself off of it over the next two weeks. I just couldn't live that way.

Okay, after all of my issues with my teeth hurting, dry mouth, TSH not budging, my doc called me today and suggested I switch from Levoxyl to Synthroid. What kind of side effects am I looking at? The dosage is the same. I've always taken Levoxyl, for 14 years. Now, after the thyroidectomy I'm just having minor issues like no saliva! Doc doesn't think it's related to the meds but he's willing to switch me to see if it makes a difference.

As lagoya mentioned, you may or may not experience side effects. If so, they range from annoying side effects to serious side effects. If it's helpful, when I took flecainide, I had weird dreams, shakiness, tremors and gastointestinal problems. It wasn't horrible, but it was bothersome enough that the doctor switched me to rhythmol. Great suggestion from lagoya on checing out the medication under "Health Topics" above.

Hello, it has been a year since my surgery and my TSH levels are still not normal and I still don't feel "right" I have been on 6 different medications with varying "side effects" from palpitations, sweating, insomnia, numbness/tingling, adic reflux, foggy head, blurry vision. First medication tried was .75 of Synthroid, then generics, Cytomel, Armour. Currently on .25 Levoxyl on 4 times per week.

) I hardly notice it when not, well, drinking. Maybe a mix of alcohol effects and medicinal side effects all creating one not-good feeling day. Well, I think the simple solution is not to drink when you're on 6+ medications!! Again, thanks for the time and info rumpled.

I have enough to last me till March but I am not pleased with trying to find something else to use after that with might interfere with my suppression as it needs to stays constant without incurring additional side effects. If you can suggest a good compound pharmacy that could make that levoxyl using the same fillers they use that would be what i am looking for. I know that Synthroid is basically the same but it appears to be the fillers that cause most of the problems. Thanks....

exactly how bad are side effects from the drugs used for treatment?? i mean will i be so sick from them that i cant function??

Lyrica is wonderful once you get passed the side effects,,usually takes a week,,,,,Also lyrica is a schedule 5 drug,,with Morphine componants
