levoxyl and joint pain

I just started on synthroid, is it common to have an unusal increase in joint pain and other symptons?

I am getting crazy with my symptoms for last 2 years , instead of getting better it is either in same place or bit worst. Main issue i have is muscles ache /joint pain and exercise intolerance .I can hold things longer i have pain in my calves /shin splint and upper arms/shoulder . Doctor thought could be RA but test came back negative and other autoimmune test also came back negative .

I see nothing in those labs to explain your fatigue, joint pain and anxiety. Do you have current lab results for Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin?

I see that my TSH is up, my Free T4 is up and my Free T3 is WAY up but I feel terrible. I am still suffering from fatigue, headaches, muscle and joint pain SEVERLY, tingling and numbness, lightheadeness, dry eyes and mouth, GI symptoms IBS. I have seen some imrovement with the anxiety and depression but they are still there. What do you think? Is my Free T3 too high and if it's normal and this is the most active thryoid hormone why don't I feel better?

I had a terrible time with Synthroid. I switched post TT, after about 3 months on Levothyroxine and Cytomel combo. I almost immediately puffed up like a marshmellow and had severe joint/arthritis pain. I dubbed myself "Princess Bloat-a-lot"... I've since switched to Levoxyl and added the Cytomel back in, and the issues seem to be dissipating. I also have calcium, vit D issues. I'm working on that as well with 50,000 IU's per week.

I also have muscles and joint pain, i have been taking synthroid for last almost 2 years but things are not improving , still have muscles weakness /joint pain /headaches, my TSH level is also not in control it is keep going up/down . I like to hear stories from others as well , how long do we have to wait after reach optimum level.

I am glad some one else also have symptoms of muscles /joint pain . I have been complaining about those symptoms since 2 years and notice since my doctor changed my brand from levoxyl to synthyroid m my muscles and joints are hurting too much ,i can't do any physical work long enough even when i type my fingers hurts a lot.

Last month my doctor change my brand from levoxyl to synthyroid since after week i am having muscles and joint pain which is killing me every day , it is so bad that i can coop up with my daily work and also very dry mouth i think because of that my tongue is white all the time .

Do you guys think with this small decrease can cause these symptoms which i am having these days ( hot flashes /headache/joint and muscles pain, burning sensation and fatigue ) . Another odd thing which make me confuse is that my FT4 was 1.9 when i was taking 88mcg which little increase 94mcg cause it to drop but i thought it will increase , isn't that suppose to be ?.

I started with the most horrendious hip joint pain as well as the worsening of few other pre-existing joint and arthritis issues. I switched to Levoxyl and I have gotten a bit better. I have since gotten back onto some T3 (Cytomel) in addition to the Levoxyl, hoping that all the joint (or most) will go away. Do post your test scores and people will be better able to help you. I found all my symptoms I was experiencing (except joint pain and bloating) left me almost immediately. Then about 6 months into dose increases and supplements the bloating and joint pain is now totally gone too. I now am trying to balance my weight issue of wanting to work off 20 pounds along with not abrupting my euthyroidism. I certaining do not want to go back to a situation of being symtomatic again.

I have had hypothyroid for 15 yrs now and never had a joint or muscle pain one until about 3 months ago I had an overnite change in my joints and muscles.....back legs neck arms...I couldn't even brush my teeth without having to switch arms back and forth they ached so bad. I am talking flat out PAIN. The Doctor I am seeing now thinks its Fibromyalgia, but I am not so sure. Been doing some research and something that I overlooked was Thrush in my mouth.

At this same visit, we determined I have a gluten sensitivity and I went on a gluten free diet. My stomach pain went away and so did my joint pain. When my blood work came back, the doctor recommended I up my dose from .25 mcg to .50 mcg, but since I still had a bottle of Synthroid, I just took two a day until they were all. When I picked up my new prescription from the pharmacy and brought it home, I realized they'd filled it with generic. I figured I'd give it a try.

I took this dose (25mg cytomel and 100mcg of levoxyl) for about a month and felt much better.. Joint pain was gone, fibroid cysts stop rupturing, hair and nails were growing and I definately had energy. There were 2 main concerns though. First, sometimes I felt like I had so much energy that I couldn't do ANYTHING if that makes any since. I felt like I was overwhelmed and in a whirlwind quite often. I wasn't losing ANY weight as I had heard people on Cytomel do and last..

I was borderline low thyroid and by simply taking Selenium helped the conversion so that my joint pain went away and no longer need to take glucosimine. But again I was pretty close to optimized so the selenium even with marginal help was enough for me. Reverse T3 is low but revers T3 being high is where the problem is. And the ONLY way that Revers T3 is made is via the conversion from T4 to T3. And you have almost no T4 available to be converted.

s to hypo, so I am wondering how long it might take for me to start getting relief and get back to life with the help of levoxyl? Also, does it help at all with weight loss? I know I'll have to exercise, but I can't believe all the extra pounds I am carrying are because of my diet. Thank you for any advice!! Take care...

Based on my blood test result my doctor made a derision regarding my thyroid gland, and Levoxyl 0,05 mg was prescribed, My questions: 1. Which blood test parameters are telling that I have to start/stop taking Levoxyl? 2. Can I replace Levoxyl with natural products (some diet, using the iodized salt, etc.) ? Many thanks!

Is Vit D absorption related to low thyroid? Also I have metabolic syndrome, wt. highest it has ever been. I'm a 55 year old woman. I do have Hashimoto's. I'm on Levoxyl and my endocrinologist says I'm on the right level - but my Vit D is still low though I'm taking 5,000 units per day!

I know that has nothing to do with your muscle and joint pain, but it may help you with your levels jumping up and down. I don't know your age, either, but I wonder if maybe your "female" hormones might be interfering with things. I'm just throwing ideas out there. I don't know if any of it will help. You sound pretty stressed out. Are you taking anti-anxiety meds "as needed" or all the time, or not at all? You mentioned anti-depressant.

80 My endroconlogsit said I have it high fro someone wtih RA and that ineed to take 025 the lowest does of synthoird to get it under 2 I have been on it for 3 weeks just stopped i seem to get increase of musle and joint aches on it, I thought that was an okay tsh what do you think, the T3 was normal range the T4 was on the lower end of the resutls all free test.

I was one Levoxyl for almost a year and was inconsistent with the dose and started to lose hair and got dry skin. Instead of just taking the 25 again I was told to take the 50 mcg everyday. I knew it was too much but my GP said everyday. My gut said no more than twice a week and I should of listened after only being consistent again with 25 mcg Levoxyl for 6 weeks and know how sensitive I am to meds in general. Please always listen to your gut!!!

I also had mega joint/arthritis-like pain so I switched to Levoxyl and finally back to Levothyroxine plus Cytomel. Not all drugs work the same for everyone. I'm a fan of trying multiple until you find the one or combo of drugs that works for you. Some have fillers that just don't work for some particular bodies.
