025 mcg levothyroxine side effects to get over took me 9 weeks went back to dr for bloodwork and was told me cholesterol had increased and my numbers had not changed so the dr increased my dosage to .050 mcg levothyroxine i started this the end of february and it is may and i am still experiencing tiredness, mood swings, depression, anxiety all severe why? and does this ease up?
It may be a combination of both stabilizing on the med itself and having the condition of hypothyroidism in general.
Many sufferers have this issue as I can personally contest too. I do not have these "real time" dreams at all since getting my Armour thyroid right - along with becoming optimal with my condition.
Do you have anxiety with your condition too? Most people that have built up anxiety issues from the hypo will say these dreams are more vivid.
I had the same issues when I first started taking levothyroxine. Everyone kept telling me that the levo doesn't cause side effects, but I felt like I drank about 25 cups of coffee when I took it!
That was 50mcg, my doctor kept increasing the dosage because my TSH was so high. Between 300 and 800. with every increase I just felt worse.
I have Hashimoto's Encephalopathy which is a lot different from HD, but still effects the thyroid.
Had a large tumor and total thyroidectomy removed 3 weeks ago. The past few days having dull but strong headaches that go into my ear, down my jaw into my neck. I'm taking 100 mcg of Levothyroxine a day and 2 Calcitrol a day. My calcium was very low after surgery.
I kind of doubt it's the cerenia causing the drooling. It's more likely the stress that's causing it - a normal reaction in dogs to any kind of stress. While the cerenia can help with nausea and vomiting from motion sickness, it can't help with the mental end of it. Frequent breaks - like every 30 or 45 minutes on a long trip - can also help set the mental reset button.
The good news is that most dogs who experience motion sickness as pups tend to outgrow it with practice.
5 was fine (felt a little nauseas in the morning - that was a side effect that the locum acknowledged as the only possible side effect).
This is only my experience, but Barb has also advised that it sounds like 50mcg was too high a dose to start - and I saw on the specialist forum that monitored dose increases can be done fortnightly. Then if you cut back too much, you end up where you were...but it's all so very slow moving!
It takes 4-6 weeks for the levo to reach full potential in your blood.
How many parathyroids did you have removed? Typically, we have 4 of them and unless all 4 are malfunctioning, they aren't usually all removed at once.
Thyroid isn't, typically, removed just because of nodules.
Calcium supplements should not be taken at the same time as thyroid replacement med. They should be separated by 3-4 hours as the calcium can inhibit absorption of thyroid med.
My German Shepherd was recently prescribed incurin and it has caused her not to eat and a little bit aggressive and scared... She also was running around with her hackles up and starting fights with my other dogs...She only had 3 or 4 days of it and then I took her off of it this last Sunday was her last dose...She still is not wanting to eat and not 100% back to herself? How long do the side effects last...It was taking me an hour and a half to get her to eat 2 cups of food...
Can levothyroxine cause fatique, hair loss, rash on abd,chest and lt side of back abd pain,nausea,emotional swings,depression?( Thyroid levels were O.K.) I have not felt right since having a tt 2 mo ago. Since being placed on levoxl 5 days ago these symptoms have started to abate. Is it related?

ive missed my medication. levothyroxine for 10 days. what side affects should i experience? i feel lethargic and have been vomitting ? is this to be expected?
Some of the side effects reported vary due to different breeds & several other factors. We have 1 Rottweiler mix male & 2 rescued dogs (German Rottweiler female & American Rottweiler female). German Rotty was approx 2 y/o when rescued. She had her first seizure approx 2 months ago. Scared me to death. A month later she had another so I knew some of the signs before hand. My mixed male & American Rotty female were going crazy when the seizures occurred.
