My sister was perscribed .50 mcg of levothyroxine. Instead, the pharmacist gave her 150mcg of it. After three months, she was feeling awful, Ached all over had a fever and much more. What advise can I give her and what kind of doctor does she need to see to get better? The GP that put her on it is giving her prednisone to make her feel better but as soon as she goes off of it the fever and pain come back and she is having awful effects of the prednisone. Pleas help!
It sounded like a bit much to me, but I did it anyway, for 2 days. I came down with symptoms of an overdose of Levothyroxine, called a 24/7 nurse hotline, and was instructed to call Poison Control. My doctor won't be back in her office until Monday....

I have been taking Levothyroxine about 8 years. Two years ago a nurse practioner increased my dosage from 50mg. to 150 mg. This caused my heart to start pounding day and night and espically at nught. It has been a little over two years and I still have problems romthis. How long will this last and will it ever completely clear up?
Hello, I am a kinda of a young girl (im 13) and ive been on the Thyroxine pill brand Levothyroxine (im on 100 mcg) for about 7 months. I may or may not have taken two pills today. I have some attention problems so this morning i got water to take it but then i dont remeber if i took it!!!!! So i took another one. Im really scared because my dad is telling me to just be calm and drink water, but it would be really reassuring what would happen and if it is considered an overdose. PLEASE HELP!
Have been taking Levothyroxine 137mcg for quite sometime. Now experiencing hot flashes ? although I have been thru menopause for many years. My internal thermostat seems to be out of wack as I don't seem to get cold, as in the past, but now am warm or experiencing sweats at times. Is this an overdose of the med???
My mail order pharmacy sent me 0.75mg of levothyroxine instead of the 0.75mcg which is the correct dosage, I have taken almost the entire bottle, I need a refill this how I noticed the dosage was wrong. Is there a big difference between mcg and mg? Could this be harmful?

Been awhile since my last post. Have slowly been increasing my levothyroxine since having issues in January and halving my levo dose from 175mcg to 75 mcg (due to possible overdose symptoms).

Last Labs collected Sept 25/10 (on 137 mcg levothyroxine)
TSH 6.88 (range: .3 - 5.5) *** Last TSH when on 125 mcg was 4.65
Free T4 16 (range:11 - 22)
Free F3 3.6 (range: 4.0 - 7.8)
So I have increased my dose from 125 to 137 mcg, and my TSH has gone up??

I have been hypothyroid since 2015 and on levothyroxine since then. I have started feeling light pain in my ankles and knees. My random google research has shown that prolonged intake of levo does have effect on bone density. Plz explain if it is so.

The golden rule is unless recommended by a doctor, do not take supplements, get the necessary nutrients directly from food only. Supplementation can very often overdose your body with vitamins and minerals, which can adversely affect. In your case, stop if possible, the supplements for few days and see if the symptoms go away, if so, do not take them, orelse, talk to your doctor about the symptoms.

Hes said things to my son about putting his willy in his bum "lets be gay" how dos he know all these things??
