408496 tn?1269603350 I was just curious if anyone is or has tried to concieve while nursing. My DS is almost 6 months old and I have had AF twice since birth, but it is irregular (which is normal for me b/c AF was irregular prior to concieving baby number 1). I was just wondering if there are any tips besides the normal stuff for TTC - like any special considerations, is it harder/easier, etc. thanks!
Avatar f tn Replacement with thyroid hormone (levothyroxine) supplies all that is needed from a thyroid standpoint. This needs to be monitored with labs at least 1-2 x / year. Would consult with a pediatric endocrinologist to evaluate the child to ensure there are no other considerations.
1680073 tn?1305637145 I am using levothyroxine but have severe hairloss, muscle ches, I can almot not function anymore - I started levthyroxine 50 mcg 1 month ago due to slightly elevated TSH 5.
4193262 tn?1490182779 It is best that you discuss the results with your attending physician. Your medical history. symptoms and condition present are important considerations. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I have had Hashimoto's for a couple years and am on 75mcg levothyroxine and 10mcg Cytomel. The Cytomel seems to help with depression and irritability. I am frustrated with this disease for many reasons but the most troublesome is the lack of sexual desire. My endo has said it's a symptom and I have read it is on many sites but I don't see much talk about it in forums. Is anyone else experiencing this and what have you done to improve it?
Avatar f tn I think it's 40, but surely if there are special considerations, i.e. your having had bc, or she has symptoms, etc, a mammogram can be done earlier. This baseline view is important to have and usually it's recommended around the age of 40? On the other hand, and since your daughter is breast feeding, it may be good to wait until she stops nursing for the purpose of getting a more accurate picture.
Avatar m tn There are so many other considerations. What is your genotype? What is the stage of your liver disease? Do you have a support system in place? How old are you and what are your other medical conditions if any? These are all important considerations.

Avatar f tn I have learned more since then because I am a nursing student. I have learned that the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists are saying normal levels are now 0.3-3.0, so if this is true, I am infact hypothyroid, but my Dr. just won't help me. He's trying to tell me people with this don't display any symptoms! Please help me and tell me what you think and what I should be doing. I am going for blood work tomorrow to be re-tested! Please help!
Avatar f tn I have been taking levothyroxine 137 mcg once a day for a couple of years. Can I stop taking it all at once or do I gradually have to get off of it?
Avatar f tn I posted on 6/17/2015 regarding my concerns over having had one episode of AFib and being concerned with the levothyroxine causing another episode. The only TSH info I had at that time was that my level was 5.6. This was taken on 5/7/2015. I just received my lab results in the mail for blood work done on 6/11/2015. She ordered at Free T3 and T4 screening on this one. In my last post you requested the results. There was no ferritin tested and my vitamin D is ok.
Avatar n tn Does anyone take Levothyroxine and if so, what do you think of it? I have heard different things. The doctor just got me started on meds and this is what he wrote. just checking on others thoughts.
Avatar m tn He was started on a 50mg dose of levothyroxine . The difference of his over all health was amazing he began to feel hungry again his breathing improved. And he was becoming more active. After about 4_6 weeks he had another repeated blood test done to check his levels and surprisingly the doctor said that his thyroid still was not functioning properly and his dose of levothyroxine was increased to 100mg. This dose made him extremely sick. Bloated . Full of trapped air. Tired and constipated.
Avatar m tn The doctor put me on Levothyroxine, and now after 3 and a half months, I have indigestion approximately 3 times a week, bloated stomach, and balance problems. Why should I take this medication when before I started taking it, I had no symtoms? Can I stop taking this medication? I'm thinking that perhaps I was born with this thyroid problem, and it was not a problem until I started taking the medication.
Avatar m tn ive missed my medication. levothyroxine for 10 days. what side affects should i experience? i feel lethargic and have been vomitting ? is this to be expected?
