Avatar f tn I have been on levothyroxine for almost a year due to post partum thyroiditis. A few months after the birth I was hyperthyroid and then eventually I went hypo with fatigue and other symptoms. I was tested and have been negative for antibodies and it appears my thyroid has kicked back in because I was starting to get hyper. as of the last blood test. My dr. told me to stop the meds as he believes I will level off now that my thyroid is working again. Is this true?

Avatar n tn Being that I had my thyroid removed 8 months ago, I am currently on Levothyroxine (0.125 mg). I also have diabetes. I have gained weight and cannot lose any. It is as if I have a tube in my belly pumping air.....it gets bigger and bigger. Ive had tests done to check my TSH..doc says its normal. I have other issues as well, loss of sex drive, hot and cold, sleepless, tingling in hands, memory issues, headaches. Why can I lose weight?
978175 tn?1304439383 A sweet smelling urine, along with frequent peeing, indicates excess glucose [blood sugar] is being expelled by your kidneys. Your kidneys act as a filter. If damaged excess glucose sneaks past the leaky filter into your urine. You want to prevent further damage so a doctor is in order. Diabetes tests are in order as well as reviewing your Levothyroxine dosage.

Avatar f tn I had my first episode of AFib in May of 2014 and just had my second one on June 17, 2016. My blood work was fine except that my glucose level was 132. My glucose is always between 85-95. The nurse told me that AFib can sometimes mess with some blood values (hormonal especially). I also take 12.5 mg Levothyroxine...they said that my TSH was a little high too...my last blood work before this showed that it had normalized. This was not NOT fasting blood.
Avatar f tn My doctor diagnosed me last year with hypothyroidism and gave me levothyroxine. When I wen for my 8 week checkup and it was high but doctor told me to stay on it now I am having symptons of hypertyroid. I am on the lowest does they have .05. Could this be something else or thyroid problems. My other question is do I stop by weaning off the meds or do I go cold turkey? I have forgotten my pills for a day sometimes but when I miss a day I get real nauseated and feel sick all day.
878888 tn?1319634044 I forgot to mention she was concerned I gained 16 lbs within same time period (even with change of diet and exercise). I am also Hypothyroid and on Levothyroxine 115 mg. I have 2 questions, If I take Metformin with evening meal and thyroid in am is there still a chance for interaction? Is there a good diet that works for people who have somewhat high blood sugar level but not at extremes that will help me lose weight.
Avatar m tn I have hypothyroidism; I take 37.5 mcg of Levothyroxine and my TSH is now at 2.97. For years I have struggled with sudden pangs of hunger resulting in sweating, confusion, migraines, etc. I regularly wake up in the middle of the night shaking with hunger. Over the years I've significantly reduced carbs in my diet in response. My diet consists almost entirely of vegetables, beans, fruits, nuts, cheese, eggs, with a slice of high-fiber bread on certain days.
Avatar f tn Lupo, My husband recently had fasting blood work done to check Thyroid and glucose levels. His glucose, A1c, calcium and triglyceride levels all came back high. Avatar n tn s a year ago, and given minimal dosage levothyroxine. I was no longer tired, but my TSH immediately went down, and I became hyper. The doctor said it was very unusual and asked me to take half-a-pill a day, which brought TSH up again. Now I take 1, then half, alternating. I have been exercising and (seriously) eating 1500 calories a day for 3 years now including 1 year on levo, and never lose more than a pound a month.
Avatar m tn I have heavy sweats and at the same time ice-cold skin at night. I have to get up to cool off. Takes up to two hours. It's getting more fequent - three times last night. Does any hypo sufferer have the same? I have what I supposed ar normal symptoms - dizziness, nausea, fatigue, etc. I've been on synthroid 100mg/day for a year.. To start with my TSH was 38. My tests over nine months are within range except that my free T3 is going down closer to the minimum. But the symptoms continue.
Avatar m tn The doctor put me on Levothyroxine, and now after 3 and a half months, I have indigestion approximately 3 times a week, bloated stomach, and balance problems. Why should I take this medication when before I started taking it, I had no symtoms? Can I stop taking this medication? I'm thinking that perhaps I was born with this thyroid problem, and it was not a problem until I started taking the medication.
390388 tn?1279636213 transferrin 409) is low, calcium is low and thyroid is low. I just started taking levothyroxine. 25. I also take high bp meds, H2o pills and chol. meds. My energy level goes down really bad every couple days. Just trying to figure out what is going on. Something must be causing all of this. I eat healthy. And I've really been trying to loose weight and just keep gaining. Hopeing to link this all together somehow on here.
Avatar n tn She also has hypothyroid which she takes levothyroxine for.
Avatar f tn Ultrasound was good and 3 normal blood test too(Hemoglobin,Random blood glucose, blood Group) but hormone tests were not. My TSH was 11.17 uIU/ml and prolactin 61.59 ng/ml.She prescribed Eltroxin 50mg once a day and Parlodel 2,5mg half twice a day for 3 months and told to come after 3 months for reblood tests. Plz tell me how bad it is and is it the right dose for me? How much time will it take my hormones to be normal as i am trying to conceive too?

Avatar f tn I noticed a Goiter last year, that has since doubled in size. My doctor did a ultrasound and diagnosed thyroid nodules. He referred me to a Surgeon. The Surgeon did TSH and T4 labs. And a FNA biopsy which was negative. He said my lab results were ok (he didn't tell me the numbers). He started me on Levothyroxine 100mcg for 3 months, and said if that doesn't shrink the nodules, he would just do a total thyroidectomy. He refused to do a full thyroid panel. I'm 48, female.
