synthroid

Avatar f tn //www.pharmer.org/images/foreign/levothyroxine-flint-50 Abbot does not make Synthroid. They make generic levothyroxine. THIS link says Euthyrox is marked flint, but the manufacturer is not listed. It's a Canadian site, and Abbot has a plant in Canada, so maybe they market a generic and a brand name. http://health.lifestyle.yahoo.ca/drug_info_details.asp?brand_name_id=794 I think cutiepie got a generic.
Avatar f tn I just started taking levothyroxine at the end of August..At that time my TSH was 4.95. I have had hashimoto for the past 10 years and after my TSH levels were consistanly high on my last 3 blood test the Endo told me that I am starting to stay Hypo, and so I started on .50 levothyroxine.. Towards the end of Sept. i started getting pain in my left hip, which got so severe by Oct. that i went to an Orthopedic who said I had bursitis.
Avatar n tn Hi Dr. I have ringing and pressure in my left ear along with an inflammed feeling in my thyroid gland. I feel horrible and everyday it's a struggle to keep going. Even my gums ache. I've been to the ent for the ringing in my ear and sinusitis. I use a neti pot and just finished antibiotics but I'm still no better. Now it seems my sinuses are better but my thyroid is burning. I am hypothyroid and I'm on levothyroxine .050.
Avatar f tn I don't know about Canada, but there's generic levothyroxine and Levoxyl here, just to name a couple. Some people seem to have negative reactions to some of the fillers in the drugs, so changing brands can be helpful. Smilerdeb is correct - Cytomel is T3 only; Synthroid, Levoxyl and generic levothyroxine are T4 only. The problem with taking T3 only is that it is very fast-acting and doesn't stay in your system for very long.
4274823 tn?1388529098 Tirosint is considered hypoallergenic, because the only ingredients it contains are gelatin, glycerin, distilled water and levothyroxine (the active ingredient). Being a pill type medication, Levoxyl does have fillers/binders, but most people seem to do very well on it.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm new here and have many questions and concerns. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and anemia almost 1 month ago & have been taking rx iron 150 2x per day and levothyroxine 50 mcg (not at the same time of course.) Thyroid labs were: TSH - 6.88 Free T4 - 1.3 Free T3 - 2.7 My TSH is obviously above normal, my free T4 is mid-range and my free T3 is low-normal. I think I've been hypo or at least borderline hypo for years.
Avatar n tn According to a company spokesperson, the reformulation was necessary due to changes in the manufacturing operation, moving the production of the Eltroxin from Canada to Germany. While GlaxoSmithKline is saying that levothyroxine in Eltroxin is the same, there are new filler and binders in the reformulated product. Simply.... it is not the same drug as it was.
393685 tn?1425812522 I take Levoxyl, a form of levothyroxine, as is Synthroid and several other name brand T4 products.
583167 tn?1218308101 me too. The heat is more than I can handle I live in Canada and I have both extremes of weather but the heat does me in completely I sleep with my window open in the winter. I ride public transportation and the heat is terrible I look at other passengers and think can't you feel this were all gonna die of heat stroke! But when I open a window they look at me like I'm nuts! But it's not them of course it's me.
Avatar f tn Anyway, Diagnosed with hypothyroidism, Doc started me on 0.025 levothyroxine, day one to three had a really bad headache, now just feel like I'm living on another planet...(spacey..off kilter..mild headache) Yikes...I feel like dumping those darn little pills down the drain! It's now day six, not sure if I can keep going. Not sure what all my labs were. My TSH was 12.5 (normal range here in Canada -3.0 to +3.0) Any feed back would be helpfull!
798555 tn?1292787551 I just spoke to Walgreens. This has the same amount of T3 (9)and T4 (38) per grain as all the other dessicated meds.
Avatar f tn I have been taking levothyroxine 137 mcg once a day for a couple of years. Can I stop taking it all at once or do I gradually have to get off of it?
Avatar f tn I posted on 6/17/2015 regarding my concerns over having had one episode of AFib and being concerned with the levothyroxine causing another episode. The only TSH info I had at that time was that my level was 5.6. This was taken on 5/7/2015. I just received my lab results in the mail for blood work done on 6/11/2015. She ordered at Free T3 and T4 screening on this one. In my last post you requested the results. There was no ferritin tested and my vitamin D is ok.
Avatar n tn Does anyone take Levothyroxine and if so, what do you think of it? I have heard different things. The doctor just got me started on meds and this is what he wrote. just checking on others thoughts.
Avatar m tn He was started on a 50mg dose of levothyroxine . The difference of his over all health was amazing he began to feel hungry again his breathing improved. And he was becoming more active. After about 4_6 weeks he had another repeated blood test done to check his levels and surprisingly the doctor said that his thyroid still was not functioning properly and his dose of levothyroxine was increased to 100mg. This dose made him extremely sick. Bloated . Full of trapped air. Tired and constipated.
Avatar m tn The doctor put me on Levothyroxine, and now after 3 and a half months, I have indigestion approximately 3 times a week, bloated stomach, and balance problems. Why should I take this medication when before I started taking it, I had no symtoms? Can I stop taking this medication? I'm thinking that perhaps I was born with this thyroid problem, and it was not a problem until I started taking the medication.
Avatar m tn ive missed my medication. levothyroxine for 10 days. what side affects should i experience? i feel lethargic and have been vomitting ? is this to be expected?
Avatar f tn Hello, I was diagnosed with thyroiditis and after going from hyperthyroidism to hypothyroidism I was put on 75mg of levothyroxine than my doctor said to only take half a dosage and now I've been off the medication for 6 days I was supposed to be done with treatment but ever since I stopped the medication I've been feeling dizzy again and exhausted my hair is falling out again my hands are shaking I have cold feet and nausea I told my doctor but he says I'm fine I was wondering could
Avatar n tn without know you history I will say that you need to be on the levo for the rest of your life Your dose needs tweaking from time to time You realy should be have blood testsdat least every 3 months.I would suspect your illness is not from the levo but your dose needs to be tweaked and get you on the right dosage. In my case I have lost 22 pounds and I was on too high a dosage so I had blood labs and sure enough I needed to lower my dose of the levo.
Avatar n tn I have been taking levothyroxine for 4 months now. Will I see any boost in my metabolism soon? I have been trying to lose weight, and can only seem to take of pounds (5 in 9 months) by doing excessive cardio (2 hours per day). I am eating between 1500-2000 calories per day and sleeping a lot, like 9 hours every night. Is there any hope or piece of mind for me?
