synthroid

Avatar m tn His either feeling or being sick every morning this is often accompanied by extreme bouts of constipation and bloated stomach . And also extremely dry skin these side effects are still on going and its difficult now to administer any kind of liquid feed as its not moving round the body quick enough and just lying on his stomach and I imagine the build up of that is also adding to the sickness problem.
Avatar n tn less than a week after i started synthroid i had major problems and then i switched to levothyroxine the generic and still have problems. everyone says its not the med but i was hypo for years untreated and never had any problems and as soon as i started the meds i had problems and still do. my problems are the opposite of yours.
2208415 tn?1339081413 I have hot flushes, problems with palpitations (I have been diagnosed with tachycardio too and take Bisoprorol Fumarate 2.5mg daily) and problems with sweating and generally I do feel unwell and weak. I know that these are not the sympthoms of underactive thyroid, but something is wrong with my body. I think that my thyroid problems and all hormonal problems are not treated properly or I do not have a proper response to them....
Avatar f tn Is there a medication or an herbal remedy out there that will help at all and not interfere with my medication? The gas and bloating is what gets to me the most, and I tend to regurgitate a lot of times after I eat due to the acid reflux. I am a singing major in college, and need to find a solution before any more harm is done. Please help, I'm desperate!
Avatar f tn Endo increased my Levothyroxine dosage from 50 to 150 mcg. (100 in the morning and 50 before dinner). I hope increase in dosage is not drastic. I am on my fist week of new dose. I hope all these discomforts go away SOON. I would appreciate any advice/feedback. Thank you.
1691030 tn?1306069524 Hi, I am diagnosed with hypothyriod and have been on 125mg levothyroxine for a number of years, I feel really old stiff, tired aching joints and muscles, sick and also get very dizzy if I move my head forward and side to side. my advise has been anti depressants which I dont like as they make me feel like im walking through cement.....really hard to function. my levels are..TSH 0.04, freeT4 21.2, freeT3 5.6, bilirubin 2, albumin 43, heamoglobin 11.7, white 4.4, mean cell 84.1,mc heamoglobin28.
Avatar n tn In addition to that I was advised to take Adkal-D3 which consist of Calcium Carbonate-1500mg and Vitamin D3-400I.U. However I did see him again last week and he suggested a blood test to be done as follows:Vitamin B12/Folate profile,Full Blood count,TFT:on T4 replacement. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn You should be very thankful for this though because many diseases (including one that I have) cannot be cured and are not at all easily treated. Both H pylori and stomach ulcers can be cured though.
Avatar n tn People taking levothyroxine frequently remain too low in the range for the biologically active thyroid hormones Free T4 and Free T3. Even when the dose is high enough to raise Free T4 to the top of its range, frequently the Free T3 will remain too low in its range to relieve symptoms. When hypothyroid the patient often does not produce adequate stomach acid to absorb vitamins and nutrients well. The result is low Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin (iron).
Avatar m tn The doctor put me on Levothyroxine, and now after 3 and a half months, I have indigestion approximately 3 times a week, bloated stomach, and balance problems. Why should I take this medication when before I started taking it, I had no symtoms? Can I stop taking this medication? I'm thinking that perhaps I was born with this thyroid problem, and it was not a problem until I started taking the medication.
Avatar n tn There is a difference in Generic Levothyroxine and Name Brand Like Synthroid, I went from 10mg to 25, 50, 75, and finally 100 mg of Levothyroxine (Generic) At that time I started seeing an Endo, He informed me that when it comes to thyroid meds, Generics are not as consistant as name brand meds, all during this prior period my symptoms were all over the place, they would stop for a few days then reappear and I would feel bad for two days, The Endo put me on a name brand (Synthroid) 100mg, at thi
Avatar f tn since beginning the Levo I have had multiple problems with digestion and bloating and horrible worse restless leg syndrome. I have always had GERD but it got worse. The constipation and bloating make me sick. I thought it might be the levothyroxine but with everything else.... It seems they just throw more meds at me. I now have enlarged lymph glands in my stomach also, new after starting meds. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Back in March I changed how I take my meds from taking in AM and having coffee 15 min later to waking up taking my pill , going back to sleep and hours later having coffee! I went hyper and have been miserable ever since! Help!
Avatar f tn But this week my weight started shooting up again my stomach is bloated and I am getting headaches and feeling very dizzy . I checked my blood pressure in cvs and it came to 140/100 which i understand is stage 1 hypertension. I haven't had hypertension before. Is his bcoz of levothyroxine ? I have my next appointment only in June. Will it be advisable to check with my doctor before that.
Avatar f tn I know there is not much out there, just Levothyroxine and Synthroid to try. I tried Synthroid in the past and it feels the same, maybe worse. What do people do that cannot tolerate meds but still need them. I am 51 years old. I know I am getting menopausal. Is there any studies on falling estrogen and not being able to tolerate medicine you have been taking for 10 years.
Avatar f tn Do I take Levothyroxine when my TSH is 0.66, total T4 is 5.6 and T3 uptake is 33.4%? I think I might be hyperthyroid, not hypothyroid. I have to take metoclopramide for stomach dilation and I take Diazapam plus other meds on the very long list of containdicated medications. Does anyone know?
Avatar f tn I had my blood tested and then retested for hypothyroidism. MY TSH was 5.6 the first time. This last test included a T3 and T4 profile. I do not know what these last results were, but my PCP put me on 25 mcg of levothyroxine (after the results of this last test). I had a bout with AFib last year (just the one time) and they think it was caused by anxiety. One of the side effects of the levothyroxine is irregular heartbeat.
Avatar m tn It is generally best to take the medication on an empty stomach but the key is consistently and taking it the same way every day. Your T4 level was a little bit high but within normal T3 and TSH; you may be sensitive to medications and targeting a TSH in the 3-5 range may be reasonable. But looking into other reasons for the low potassium (this simply could have been dehydration) and palpitations may be necessary if you continue to have symptoms.
Avatar f tn i am really concerned about my feet as they are constantly aching and the soles of my feet feel inflammed. i have been taking 125 levothyroxine for over 6 months now and thought that once i started taking the medication that this feeling would go. most of my other symptoms of hypothroidism have now gone, apart from the aching feet which is getting worse. so much so that it keeps me awake at nught and i dread getting up to do a days work with my achy feet.
Avatar f tn I got some bad news about the nodules they found and I have to have a biopsy. I have no idea what to expect and am really apprehensive.
Avatar f tn I have been taking levothyroxine to treat my thyroid problem, I am up to 125mcg. I find no side affects listed about skin problems, but I sure am having them. Anyone have any input?
Avatar f tn It was probably coincidence. A starting does of 75 mcg can be a bit high (depends on weight a lot when just starting out). However, you are young, have no other health problems, and have no demonstrated sensitivity to meds. So, it's probably a fine starting dose for you.
649688 tn?1276871161 I take 50mg of levothyroxine for a border line underactive. Have no ovaries or womb and settled on HRT years ago as a result. Have never ever had bad skin. Until 5 - 6 months after taking Levothyroxine. The amount I take has stopped the terrible frightening symptoms I had. All of my family and friends and myself are so happy that I am now 'normal'. But what about this acne at 43 years of age ?????
1413627 tn?1281837531 RA, Degenerative Disc Disease (2 disc removed in neck and 3 in lower back) , Vascular problems in the legs, GERD and stomach ulcers, High Blood Pressure, High Cholestral (allergic to statins, so not on anything last test showed 339) I also have 2 tears in my right shoulder with spurs, and recently I was diagnosed with mitochrondrial disease. My meds are: Warfarin 6 mg.
Avatar f tn Another good one is Tirosint, which is a gelcap and contains only glycerine, water, Levothyroxine and gelatin. Tirosint tends to be the most expensive, but the manufacturer has programs for those who qualify. Is TSH the only thyroid related blood test that's being performed regularly? What about Free T4 and Free T3? Those are the actual thyroid hormones.
Avatar m tn My dog has had hypothyroidism for several years and has been on 0.2 mg of Levothyroxine twice daily ever since. Recently, when they did a check on his T4 they found that it was low and they increased it immediately to 0.4 mg. A week or two later he began to significantly pant and wheeze. Then he decided to give him 150 mg of Theophylline twice daily. Could the thyroid dose change have caused these symptoms or is it a coincidence?
