Avatar m tn I am now prescribed .5mg xanax 2times a day 20 mg of valium at bed time along with lexapro and trazadone (if needed). I am also prescribed 100mg neurontin 3 times per day in between the xanax to help with withdrawal symptoms. Is this a safe cocktail and is it hard to get off neurontin?
Avatar m tn I know headache is a common side effect but was wondering what I could take for it? I read that ibuprofen and asprin can cause interactions. Are the interactions for people that take a lot or what? Thanks for the help.
Avatar n tn Lexapro shouldn't cause any particular GI discomfort. I don't know what GERD med you're on, but I'm not aware of any drug interactions between GERD meds and Lexapro (check with your pharmacists or an online tool as found on RxList.com). However, some people do have odd reactions to psychiatric meds, in particular during the first couple of weeks of taking them. Check with your doctor to see if the problem persists.
708731 tn?1229049180 I would look at the birth control pill in relation to your thyroid medication and disease, and also the consequences of mixing the birth control and the Prozac. You may find that switching birth control will allow for treatment other than Prozac. Just a thought, but I think it has merit. Keeping up on your bloodwork and getting stable at the correct level is the best medicine. If Prozac helps short term, go for it. I'm taking xanax.
Avatar n tn I have been on levothyroxine for 3 months now, I feel wonderfull and am loosing weight. However my Dr recently put me on Metformin for PCOS and Insulin Resistance, I feel terrible! All I want to do is sleep. GI probelms not bothersome. My doc said to stop the Metformin and I feel normal again. How can I get my insulin down without feeling like crap? My pharmacist also said the 2 drugs interact with eachother. Please Help!
Avatar m tn Inform your healthcare provider about all medications and supplements you're taking to avoid potential drug interactions. Withdrawal: Don't abruptly stop taking Lexapro, as this can lead to withdrawal symptoms. Discontinue under medical supervision. Monitoring: Regularly attend follow-up appointments to monitor your response to the medication and any necessary adjustments.
Avatar m tn Likewise, I was never told to avoid taking anything with my levothyroxine besides food and calcium/multivitamin (basically just not at the same time, but I could still have a multivitamin). I've also never had a problem taking benedryl (besides that it knocks me out) or any other drug with my hypothyroid meds. If you're on a drug for your hypothyroidism, there is this nifty tool at the top- under drugs, you can find drug interaction.
Avatar f tn im not sure about birth control but i can add to your list. im a student of psychotherapy and a long time anxiety suffer and im on lexapro now with very good results. good luck if you give me like 10minutes i can get you the info.
Avatar m tn Can I take L-Tyrosine if I have to take 10mg of Lexapro and 300mg of Wellbutrin? I am also on Avacor (a mixture between norvasc and benicar) for high blood pressure. I have OCD and have to take these meds.
Avatar f tn Anti-depressants do not seem to be on this list, and I to checked all drug interactions as well and did not see any anti-depressants on the list, however this being said, can anyone tell us otherwise? I take Lamictal, and percocet, both of which I must take 1st thing in the morning to help with my pain. So I cannot wait to take them otherwise I cannot function. So... is it ok to take these all together? or does it truely affect absorbtion even though it is not listed as affecting such?
Avatar f tn My doctor wants me to start Lexapro because of depression & anxiety symptoms. My insurance company is denying because I also take Ampyra, Rebiff & Nuvigil. Do these drugs interact with each other that insurance would deny it?
Avatar n tn When you were switched, I'm assuming a doctor made this decision to switch out Lexapro for Paxil and add on Klonopin? Are they aware of your also taking propranolol? Drug interactions are real but typically doctors try to be aware of a patients full history as long as you provide it to them. A pharmacist where you fulfil your prescriptions is also a great source of information. In general, paxil and klonopin are frequently prescribed together.
Avatar f tn Your doctor prescribed buspar AND Lexapro? *** Buspar and Lexapro should NOT be taken at same time because they can cause a rare but serious side effect of serotonin syndrome. You don't want that. So, you were right to never take all these meds together and am not sure who is prescribing them with any suggestion that there is overlap in your using them. I would not take buspar until you've spoken to your doctor. Ask them WHEN you can feel all Lexapro is washed out of your system.
Avatar f tn t drink, but last weekend I visited my brother and went out with him and his friends a couple times and drank (aka got drunk--not horribly drunk, but drunk enough). We didn't get back until around 3-4AM and I still took my Lexapro at that time because I really didn't want to miss a dose, especially this early on. So, I haven't personally experienced anything catastrophic after drinking and then taking Lexapro, but I definitely don't intend to make a habit out of it.
12714324 tn?1426848387 First of all, and know it's easier said than done, but you're not a burden. As I'm sure you know, with meds like Lexapro, we often have to feel a little worse before we start feeling better. For most, the initial side effects are short lived (thank goodness). I know it's tough waiting to feel better, but it's something that just takes time. It could take 4-6 weeks, or it may take even longer (especially if you end up needing to try higher dosages).
1325193 tn?1450127436 put me on flexirill (sorry for the misspelling) its a muscle relaxer. Anyway, I have been taking Lexapro for GAD and was wondering if I was hurting myself by taking this. I have only taken 2 and while it does help with the pain, I am starting to have some signs of anxiety again. Anyone have any thoughts???
Avatar n tn That is true - speak to the pharmacist and so you can read about the interactions with the Levothyroxine and so you can speak to the pharmacist on a semi - educated level on the effects of the medication- please see the medication link below for some helpful information and can prepare you for that discussion. http://drugs.medsort.com/Drugs/DrugSpecificProfile.aspx?
Avatar m tn That being said, I do not see any specific interactions listed with Lexapro, but Evodia is considered somewhat toxic by some herbalists and some of the ingredients in White Flood have central nervous system side effects as does Lexapro. Please discuss this with your physician before taking this product.
Avatar n tn It seems to be the only thing that helps. She wants me to start Lexapro 20mg daily and wean off of klonopin. I hate Lexapro because the brain fog when I tried it 2 years ago. Two questions: Is it safe to take all 3 at once (daily)? Should I try herbal things for anxiety other then Lexapro?
Avatar m tn okay, thank you! and yes, I was tested for all of that just recently. my TSH came back as 146 and the "normal" range was between 0.4 and 4.4. and I dont have my results here in front of me but i will post them as soon as i get back home and have them in hand. basically, i've had this issue for a VERY long time now and the specialist im seeing now is very quick to dismiss things or symptoms that I find are important.
Avatar n tn ve gained weight (with a lot of puffiness in the face), suffer from fatigue/depression/anxiety attacks (which is being treated with Lexapro, but to no avail), have MAJOR gastrointestinal issues (constipation is my enemy and I often feel like there is blockage), etc.
717272 tn?1277590780 Started taking it again and they really dropped. Stopped it, went up. Started Lexapro and they dropped. Went to half dose and they went up. I mentioned interaction to the nurse long ago. Celexa & Lexapro are almost the same drug. Recently, I am so nuts about getting an opportunity to finish early that I went to full dose of lexapro and got the lowest platelet reading yet, 35,000. I told her when I gave blood that they should be up but that I had doubled Lexapro and predicted low.
