583167 tn?1218308101 me too. The heat is more than I can handle I live in Canada and I have both extremes of weather but the heat does me in completely I sleep with my window open in the winter. I ride public transportation and the heat is terrible I look at other passengers and think can't you feel this were all gonna die of heat stroke! But when I open a window they look at me like I'm nuts! But it's not them of course it's me.
Avatar n tn I had these initially when I first started taking thyroid (I think it had more to do with my metabolism and heat regulation actually working or trying to work right). I was wondering if melatonin needs to be taken one hour or four hours after my thyroid pill. I take a mulitvitamin, iodine and a thyroid support vitamin in the morning and I have to take these four hours after my thyroid pills.
Avatar m tn is it possible that when I was placed on .50 mg. of Synthroid in 2001 I didn't actually need the medication? The reason for my question is that I felt great a the time, was thin and only took Hormone replacement medication. After only a few months, I started having problems with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, which resulted in a full blown melt down. Since that time I have had joint pain and joint stiffness. In Feb.
Avatar m tn I take levothyroxine 1/2 hour before my early morning run and have noticed sometimes heart disturbances in the later in the day... I am not sure if levothyroxine is too blame or should I wait 1 hour before doing my running? Currently take 150mg x3 and 100mg x 4 per week and TSH 0.18 Have you experience the same thing? I'm 43 and don't want to damage my heart!
Avatar f tn I'm on Levothyroxine and suffer the same problems you do. My doctor does listen to me. My best guess, handling the VA for my late dad in the past, push to get another doctor and the refer as well. Good luck.

Avatar n tn I left my prescription of levothyroxine in the car last night. Temps dropped to 40F last night. Will my levo be ok?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Graves about 20 years ago, and have been taking levothyroxine since a few months after radioactive iodine treatment. I was relatively stable as to dose for quite a few years, but have had more adjustments in recent years, all downward. I can remember fairly clearly the symptoms when I was acutely hyperthyroid. I'm experiencing nothing like that now. My resting heart rate ranges from mid-50's to low 60's. My muscle tone is good, no weakness.
Avatar n tn So, this time, the pharmacist thought that the allergic reaction might be due to lactose as I am lactose intolerant, and the dyes in the medication. (Artificial colors.) He gave me Levothyroxine 25 MCG and told me to break it in half. This medication is lactose free and dye free. This time again, I had the same allergic reaction except for the sore throat because I only took it once. Last time it started with the same thing. Since I continued for nine days, I ended up with a sore throat too.
Avatar m tn After a week or so, he began exhibiting symptoms of mania, delusional thinking, and paranoia. He saw the doctor who had prescribed the Levothyroxine, and told him how he was feeling. the doctor sent him to the emergency room. That night, he entered a psych hospital and has been there for 6 days. Doctors say he has had a manic episode, and are leaning towards diagnosing him with bipolar. They're trying a couple anti-psychotic meds and plan to release him in six days.
1239318 tn?1268144748 Still extremely tired all the time...and extreme heat intolerance/hot flashes...occasional low blood sugar. I try to eat very well low carb no sweets...good proteins. I am doing weight watchers and walking not losing a thing. The worst part is the hotflashes.. Please help!
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. My doctor prescribed levothyroxine .025 mg and my psychiatrist added 5mcg of cytomel. The problem is that instead of being cold all the time, I am burning up, sometimes with sweating. I have internal heat that my husband claims he cannot feel on my skin most of the time. This heat is awful. Can anyone shed light on this? My doctor claims I am now in the normal thyroid range and can't understand the heat issue.
Avatar n tn s weird because yesterday I was sat around all day in the sun and it really burned, and today I have been active and hot in the sun and it hasn't burned hardly at all.
Avatar f tn Another good one is Tirosint, which is a gelcap and contains only glycerine, water, Levothyroxine and gelatin. Tirosint tends to be the most expensive, but the manufacturer has programs for those who qualify. Is TSH the only thyroid related blood test that's being performed regularly? What about Free T4 and Free T3? Those are the actual thyroid hormones.
Avatar m tn hey docs. i was treated recently for ngu and a testi infection. 750 mg of levaquen for 28 days. but this is what i read. The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) sertraline (ZOLOFT), widely prescribed for depression, has been associated with a decrease in the effect of levothyroxine. i take zolaft 100 mg daily. i still have testi pain and burning. i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out.
Avatar n tn You would not be the first person to be Hypo and have sweating. Granted sweating and intolerance to heat is USUALLY a hyPER symptom. But human beings are complicated and there is never a one size fits all situation. You could be one of the few that sweat and are Hypo. You really have to go with the preponderance of symptoms. I do not know if you are male of female or what age.
Avatar f tn It is better to avoid amiodarone, antidepressants and lithium while taking levothyroxine. If it is very important and need to be taken then it is suggested to be taken at least a four-hour window in between taking them and taking levothyroxine. It is possible that these two drugs are affecting each other. It is best to consult your attending doctor and get evaluated. I hope it helps. Best wishes and kind regards!
Avatar f tn I know there is not much out there, just Levothyroxine and Synthroid to try. I tried Synthroid in the past and it feels the same, maybe worse. What do people do that cannot tolerate meds but still need them. I am 51 years old. I know I am getting menopausal. Is there any studies on falling estrogen and not being able to tolerate medicine you have been taking for 10 years.
Avatar f tn Some symptoms prior to treatment were rapid weight loss, adult acne, heart issues, severe hair loss, bulging eyes, severe tremors and a total heat intolerance. I wont even start on the mental symptoms. Since treatment I've had weight gain, still suffer heat intolerance and major hair issues, to list a few. Im turning 45 this yr & feel every bit if my age and then some. I also look every bit if my age and then some and that's adding to my depression.
Avatar n tn I am not only itchy I also have some hives on my body in a couple of places and in some spots it looks like a heat rash. I am not sure if it is from me scratching these areas or something else. If someone can tell me what I might be able to do or take because I can not live with this much longer. I would like to find something that is natural to take to help this. I am very sensative to medications and the only thyroid medication that has worked for me has been Armour.
Avatar f tn To reduce the risk of an error, prescribers should print all orders for Lanoxin and levothyroxine and include the purpose for each drug on all prescriptions. Both the mg dose and the mcg conversion should be listed in all levothyroxine orders and on product labels, such as "levothyroxine 100 mcg (0.1 mg)" or "Synthroid 0.1 mg (100 mcg).
Avatar n tn levothyroxine and foot and toe cramps. Existing damage to lumber due to spinal infection that tumored and surround spinal cord and root nurves.
Avatar f tn But my appt with him is next week and I will tell him I want t3 and t4 test besides TSH.. I have stopped the levothyroxine for this past week and my hips are really feeling alot better..so I am thinking it has something to do with that med.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with cancer and it was discovered AFTER the operation that it was benign. I am taking levothyroxine .112 one day and .125 every other day. Even though my TSH levels seem to be OK, I have gained 20 pounds! I would like to lose weight and not continue to gain. I have also been diagnosed with arthritis of the lower back and right knee. I recently read on-line that there is a connection to hypothyroidism and arthritis. Is this so? Thank you.
