Levothyroxine and fluoxetine

Common Questions and Answers about Levothyroxine and fluoxetine

5 grains of phenobarbital for his seizures and levothyroxine for his suspected hypothyroid condition. He also suffers from noise anxiety and becomes extremely destructive ( tearing house apart behavior)around loud noises(fireworks, gunshots, thunder etc). He has been taking Gabapentin and fluoxetine for the noise anxiety for 1.5 years. We have moved him into a secure safe room and that limits the destruction. I'm looking for any advice on other things that I could do to stop the seizures.
I bought the diet pill accelis to help me lose weight but I am concerned it will effect the other medication I'm on. I'm taking levothyroxine for my thyroid and fluoxetine for my baby blues. Can I take accelis with my other medication?
I also take the maximum allowed daily dose of fluoxetine. Recently people have started commenting/complaining that I yawn a lot and have started telling me I need to get my "energy levels" up. Whatever that means. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it documented? Is it fluke?
My GP has been tracking my thyroid levels ever 1-3 months, and adjusting meds (levothyroxine and Cytomel) as needed. I haven't put together yet how all the symptoms fit with my blood levels, but I do believe it is all related. Should I see an endocrinologist, or stick with my GP. I've become sooooo aggravated with the menstrual cycles, that I have consulted an OB/GYN for a hysterectomy. But if we can correct it with my thyroid, that would be much easier.
I am taking the following prescriptions: fluoxetine 20mg, levothyroxine .05 mg, Nexium 40mg, Minocycline 50 mg and Levora .15/30 I want to start a diet pill while taking these medications. The name of the diet pill is Lipovox. Can you tell me if any or all of these medications would cause side effects? I have feelings of nausea and was wondering if the combination of all these meds would cause that. Also, is it safe to take the diet pill with the prescribed meds? Thank you.

With these as our regular daily subscriptions, can you recommend a Drug Plan that would be the most economical? We have been using Walgreens for many years and are looking for a program that will give us a reasonable price if we can continue with Walgreens. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can give us.
I'm also taking 20 mg of fluoxetine. The past few years I've been very tired (which I contribute somewhat to the fluoxetine and is normal), and my memory seems to be declining (way before I started taking the fluoxetine). I am only 22 years old, so I'm HOPING it is due to the hypothyroidism. My question is if this is a possibility or not? I have trouble concentrating, but I'm pretty sure it's not ADD or ADHD.

Hello I've been taking fluoxetine 20 mgs since April of this year. It's been working, only problem is I'm incredibly exhausted. I'm in college, and taking five classes, plus have a part time job at the school. I usually have to stay late so by the time I get home I have absolutely no energy, and there is no way around it at this point in the semester. I also have a hypothyroid, I take levothyroxine for it, seems to be helping as well, at least for that problem.
Her pain has never changed, never moved - always across her forehead, in her temples and behind her eyes. Reading and concentrating make it worse. Sometimes it's worse from out of the blue. She awakens with a pain level of 7 and sometimes up to a 9. It stays about and 8 or 9 all day. She takes Percocet when it's too horrible to tolerate anymore. The Percocet drops the pain down to maybe a 6 or 7.

I would rather not add another drug while I am adjusting to levothyroxine, but other people do not think twice about taking an antidepressant, and neither viewpoint is right or wrong. Also, for some people, an antidepressant is like a life-line while they get their hypothyroidism under control. I am sure that there are other people like me, for whom depression is only one of the thinking/emotional problems caused by hypothyroidism.

Hi wondering if anyone can give me some advice! I am 44yrs old and have suffered from fatigue since my early twenties poss before as I do remember bouts of tiredness as a child. I had many chest infections as a child and was treated with antibiotics at 11yrs old for chronic chest infection which was possibly TB. I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid at 25 and 2yrs ago with sacroillitis and spondylytic arthropaphy.
I had a severe headache, dilated pupils and shook uncontrollably for at least two hours. The dental unit transferred me to the A and E department and they kept me under observation as my BP remained unstable for several hours. They said that I had probably fainted due to an adrenaline reaction to the local anaesthetic and have advised that I get a referral back to the encrinologist.

The most recent problem has yet again abscesses under my teeth. After 7 days of Amoxycillin and Metranidazol the pain was not being relieved by painkillers and my dentist sent me to the Oral Maxilla facial unit at the hospital. I went to have four teeth removed under local anaesthetic the next day. The dentist used a local anaesthesia without adrenaline due to a previous adverse reaction. Whilst waiting for my mouth to numb I passed out and apparently was unconscious for 7-8 mins.
Now living in MI it has started again and at times it is cig smoke and other times its toast? go figure... I do take levothyroxine, and antidepressants... I am curious to find an answer because generally my family doesn't smell them however my two youngest have!
I feel like my body's thermostat is broken and I'm constantly overheating. I've been taking Claritin and Benadryl but that doesn't seem to help at all. My doctor also gave me a prescription medicine called Atarax, which only makes me drowsy and doesn't help the itchy feeling. Any suggestions? Btw, I've taken blood tests to see if there is anything wrong but everything came out fine.
First, I will feel a bit dizzy and nauseas, then I will have to run to the bathroom because the diarrhea hits me and I feel like while I'm going to the bathroom I will pass out, then the nausea and dizziness with cold chillls and then I am hot so I have to take the sweater off that I put on because I was cold. I am 30 years old and I have a mild case of lupus that has been under control with plaquinil over the past ten years.
Unfortunately, that did not last. I started having the same signs again, and when I tested it was positive again. and ever since I can't get it to be negative again, meaning the candida if that is what I have has become resistant to the supplements that I was using. As I started a new treatment, I will take the test this week-end to see if there is any progress.
