synthroid

Avatar f tn on my meds, he actually stood there thinking, and almost with a throw-this-in-for-good-measure tone, said to have no dairy 2 hours before or after taking this....I haven't found anything regarding dairy and methimazole on the internet or the printout the pharmacy gave me. Just curious about the dairy/methimazole issue. Thanks!
393419 tn?1228447393 I've been on levothyroxine 50 mg for 7 years. Radiation treatments killed my thyroid. I'm a big milk and dairy person and have never had any problems.i have a friend who just stated Levo and her Drsaid no milk for 4 hours. I've never heard or seen any warnings or real studies re milk/dairy products.
8256587 tn?1399897506 I am currently dairy and gluten free and my fatigue and constipation have cleared up since on the diet, however I retook my Levothyroxine and within 2 hours I was constipated. The only change I had made was retaking the Levothyroxine but I did increase my fluid intake, too. The reaction I had from the medication is making me doubt the benefits of it. Or could I be undermedicated at 125mcg? The nurse taking my blood last time said 125mcg is a lot for a little person like me to be taking!
Avatar n tn At the same time I started taking the smallest amount of synthroid, my right arm started giving my problems -- from lack of strength, to a burning sensation, to hurting when I squeeze my toothpaste, and to a dull ache at night. I work in the dairy department at a grocery store and have taken a couple of weeks off to see if the pain would stop but it continued. I then stopped my daily dose of synthroid and the pain is getting better. I have a hard time believing that the two could be related.
Avatar m tn in 2015 I was diagnosed w/ hypothyroidism w/ a TSH at 16.. was put on 50mcg of levothyroxine in the ER.. stayed on that for a year but never felt much better.. found a new PCP in Oct 2017 she put me on 16.25mcg of Nature throid.. I did well and increased it to 32.5 mcg & felt at my best.. then they changed the formula.. w/ the new prescription my TSH went up to 6.35.. was switched to NP thyroid & since then I've had severe heart palps/shortness of breath/high anxiety...
Avatar f tn the past 2 days i have eating dairy with dinner and i think this is setting it off. i feel fine all day until i eat dinner.
10456541 tn?1427998737 The past couple of weeks though it has been making me very nauseous and makes my stomach hurt SO bad! I even ate some pizza the other day and the dairy from the cheese hurt my stomach. Is there any other way to get calcium?
541609 tn?1273879848 dairy and pregnancy. It just talked about high fat dairy being a link to fertility. Check it out and see if any of it makes sense to you guys...
Avatar f tn I am six months now and am very limited on dairy. I was at the doctors today and he said a lot of pregnant women go through this and to make sure to get calcium by other means.
Avatar f tn Is it weird that dairy products are the only thing I can seem to consume without feeling bloated, nauseous, and or groggy?
Avatar m tn Hi. My question is, am I likely to have caused myself permanent damage by stupidly taking iodine supplements as well as levothyroxine for six weeks? I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid about six weeks ago and put on 25mcg levothyroxine daily. At the time, I suspected that the vegan diet I had been following for nearly a decade had probably caused the thyroid problem, as vegan diets can be notoriously low in iodine.
Avatar n tn Depending on how often the doxy is taken, it might be possible to create a 'window' around, say, lunch, and eat dairy then. I cut dairy out of my diet a while back, and get calcium from other things. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Good plant sources of calcium include: -- Green leafy vegetables: spring greens, kale, broccoli, parsley. (Spinach is not a good source of calcium.
Avatar m tn It says on my packet not to have any dairy products for 2 hours after taking the medication. I looked it up and dairy products inhibit the workings of the thyroxine medication. have others been told this?
7729616 tn?1393795492 I take 100mcg of levothyroxine a day but I am still fatigued, constipated and depressed. I follow a healthy diet and lifestyle and my latest blood tests were normal. My mum was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries some time ago but I have had ultrasounds done in 2005 and 2011 that have shown no problem. Tests have ruled out endometriosis through ESR and ovarian cancer through CA125. I have cut out gluten and dairy.
Avatar f tn In a recent test, my TSH was 4.45 on a dose of 75 mcg levothyroxine. I am a vegetarian and my diet does not contain eggs, dairy or much oil. My weight is normal (~115 lbs), but I am not unable to get sufficient exercise as I also suffer from fibromyalgia. Should I be worried about my cholesterol levels? If yes, what can I do about it? Is it related to my thyroid condition?
Avatar f tn Another good one is Tirosint, which is a gelcap and contains only glycerine, water, Levothyroxine and gelatin. Tirosint tends to be the most expensive, but the manufacturer has programs for those who qualify. Is TSH the only thyroid related blood test that's being performed regularly? What about Free T4 and Free T3? Those are the actual thyroid hormones.
Avatar m tn hey docs. i was treated recently for ngu and a testi infection. 750 mg of levaquen for 28 days. but this is what i read. The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) sertraline (ZOLOFT), widely prescribed for depression, has been associated with a decrease in the effect of levothyroxine. i take zolaft 100 mg daily. i still have testi pain and burning. i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out.
Avatar n tn i was recently diagnosed with hypothyrodism and was placed on levothyroxine 50 mcg per day. i really can't tell a difference in myself. i continue to feel as if i am in a cloud i still have lots of pain to joints and muscles, weakness fatigue, shortness of breathe. i have been on this amt of levothyroxine for 5 weeks the last test showed my tsh 0.39 they did not test my ft4 why im not sure since this was what was low in the first place.
Avatar f tn To reduce the risk of an error, prescribers should print all orders for Lanoxin and levothyroxine and include the purpose for each drug on all prescriptions. Both the mg dose and the mcg conversion should be listed in all levothyroxine orders and on product labels, such as "levothyroxine 100 mcg (0.1 mg)" or "Synthroid 0.1 mg (100 mcg).
