levothyroxine and advil

I was diagnosed with hypothyroid less then a week ago and started taking Levothyroxine 50mcg and 2 hrs after I take the meds my heart races and feels like its literally going to pound its way out of my chest. I phoned my Dr with my concerns and she told me that it takes time for your body to adjust and to keep taking it until I'm re-tested in 6 weeks. My chest now hurts and I am afraid to take the meds. Anyone else have this issue?

I went to my Endo , he did a sonogram found that I was swollen in my left lobe, I dont have the right side due to a nodule. He increased my levothyroxine (.50mcg ) and said to take Advil and also said the swelling should go down. Well it hasnt 3 weeks later I went back to him and now he wants me to have it removed. I just want to know if you see a lump or is it my imagination...(see picture) Thank you for all your time....I have an appointment to see an Endo this Wednesday.

I had a terrible time with Synthroid. I switched post TT, after about 3 months on Levothyroxine and Cytomel combo. I almost immediately puffed up like a marshmellow and had severe joint/arthritis pain. I dubbed myself "Princess Bloat-a-lot"... I've since switched to Levoxyl and added the Cytomel back in, and the issues seem to be dissipating. I also have calcium, vit D issues. I'm working on that as well with 50,000 IU's per week.

advil is a minor anti inflammatory I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflamma

As some of you know I suffer from severe health anxiety...I started going through a particularly bad time last fall...I am constantly afraid of headaches,fevers,muscle aches etc..as a result of this I started taking advil constantly and I am up to about 10 to 12 liquigels a day..If I don't take them my anxiety goes through the roof and I start to imagine headaches,pain etc...this can't be good for me..and I don't know how to stop...

We just found out yesterday I am expecting and figure im about 5 weeks. I have terrible headaches but I am allergic to tylenol, I have always just puked it up. Is there anything else I can take at this point?

What, if anything can I take for a headache? I've read far too many mixed reviews. I have advil and ibuprofen here, just don't Wana take anything besides my pre natals, too nerve wracking!

Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil? I was prescribed meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..

Imitrex on the other hand is migraine medication and will stop a migraine. Advil is not migraine medication and can cause problems by making headaches worse. Imitrex is migraine medication that is specifically for migraine and it will stop a migraine. Most migraines do not come with aura. Take that into consideration when you get a headache that feels exactly like your regular migraine just without an aura. That means you are having a migraine. You don't need an aura to have a migraine.

I ALWAYS have to take medicine and take it easy for a few days during my period. I usually take Advil the day before my expected period because they say that it works better if you take it before the pain starts. It does for me. Before that I was taking 25 mcg of levothyroxine since July. Since taking the new dosage and medication I have had MUCH more energy, and feel better. However, I am just wondering if the hormone changes in the body could affect the menstrual cycle. Tirosint tends to be the most expensive, but the manufacturer has programs for those who qualify. Is TSH the only thyroid related blood test that's being performed regularly? hey docs. i was treated recently for ngu and a testi infection. 750 mg of levaquen for 28 days. but this is what i read. The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) sertraline (ZOLOFT), widely prescribed for depression, has been associated with a decrease in the effect of levothyroxine. i take zolaft 100 mg daily. i still have testi pain and burning. i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out.

Tuesday the 28th, my nose congestion began to clear up, but headache persist, then Thursday nose is clear, headache was unbearable, nothing is helping, Extra strength Tylenol, Advil, Tylenol severe sinus. I've had ice pack on my forehead constantly. I read Tirosent med info, which list headache as overmedicated. But then thought, I've only taken a week. Was wondering if anyone developed severe headache, first week taking Tirosent ?

Hi guys! I have a lot of chronic pain problems with my knee, back and foot. I have been on all sorts of meds in the past, including vicodin and percocet. My orthopedic Dr. told me before I could mix tylenol with advil and it would equal a pain pill without the narcotic effect. I don't remember how many of each to take and how many hours apart to take each of them. Is this safe? I would rather take these then go back on pain meds! Thanks!

To reduce the risk of an error, prescribers should print all orders for Lanoxin and levothyroxine and include the purpose for each drug on all prescriptions. Both the mg dose and the mcg conversion should be listed in all levothyroxine orders and on product labels, such as "levothyroxine 100 mcg (0.1 mg)" or "Synthroid 0.1 mg (100 mcg).

I was afraid that I had affected the baby by taking Advil and aleve. So far things are going great and no issue with the baby. Not sure how the baby would have been affected after 32 weeks. I'm a first time mom so I'm not sure but I would just check in with the doctor just to be on the safe side and to feel secure.

I just bought a packet that comes with two pills since the stores around me didn't have Benadryl . Is it okay for me to take one or two of the pills to help me sleep ? But my appt with him is next week and I will tell him I want t3 and t4 test besides TSH.. I have stopped the levothyroxine for this past week and my hips are really feeling alot better..so I am thinking it has something to do with that med.

I take 50mg of levothyroxine for a border line underactive. Have no ovaries or womb and settled on HRT years ago as a result. Have never ever had bad skin. Until 5 - 6 months after taking Levothyroxine. The amount I take has stopped the terrible frightening symptoms I had. All of my family and friends and myself are so happy that I am now 'normal'. But what about this acne at 43 years of age ?????
